The kid sputtered for a few seconds as his mother mocked him with chants of "Girlfriend, girlfriend!" He eventually took Xion's hand and they started to walk down toward the docks. He remained awkwardly silent for the duration of the trip, though she'd feel his heart pounding in his hand and would hear how labored his breathing had become. No doubt he was beet red, as would be evident to any non-blind passersby.
"It doesn't look like anyone's out here," he told her with a trembling voice when they finally reached the docks, blatantly ignoring the group of ninjas, the sailors, and the seafaring vessel moored at one end. He sounded like he was going to follow that up with something, but his voice didn't come out as more than a squeak.

It seemed that, fellow fishing villager or not, the villagers were saltier than the ocean spray following that hostage situation. Just associating with Chet--or interfering with the villagers' mob rule, it wasn't clear--was enough to put him in the splash zone for their spite. Maybe they were all just collectively grumpy and needed a nap.

It was difficult to smell anything with the malefic stench of chum still burning in his nostrils. Still, Fang would detect a hint of freshly overturned earth and wood smoke on the breeze. Back at the dock, the sailors would cheer at his barking and one would toss him a sizable hunk of prawn meat.

As the night started to turn to dawn, a few figures would enter town from the main road. They appeared to also be shinobi, but they were all in uniform and weren't wearing any sort of identifying regalia. Two of them walked with a purpose toward the ends of the docks, then produced a seal each and tossed it into the water. With a loud boom, two ships would appear in the water, one bearing the insignia of the Land of Wind, another bearing only a symbol of some waves. One of the remaining shinobi posted up in the middle of town, summoning a stone archway that bore only an arrow pointing downward. The last shinobi stood near the entrance to the village with a gray banner waving over their head. One by one, each of the four would produce a clipboard with a sheet of paper on it and a pen.
"Attention all examinees," a voice boomed through the village, "the first round of the examinations is coming to an end. There are four instructors located throughout the town; please see one of them based on where you think the second round of the exams will take place. Please give them your name and Village of origin and either board their ship or stand near them. If you believe the exams will take place somewhere inland, head to the entrance of the village; if you believe they will take place here, head to the center' if you believe they will take place either in the Wind Country or someplace at sea, head to the docks."

When the dawn hit Shinji was up, early as usual, so he was likely one of the first to hear the announcement. It left a pit in his stomach if he was honest. Any of the four options, minus perhaps one, seemed logical to him. The land of wind would make sense as typically exams were held in one of the five lands. The village also made sense as them stating it was the conclusion of the first round meant they had been keeping track of things. However the mysterious island also seemed to hold a bit of truth. It was unknown to some of the locals and defended by something, likely put there to protect the island from outsiders.
In the end Shinji kept to his gut. Overall he had spent most of his time looking towards the island, not getting much information about the other options. If it were a real mission it'd be unrealistic of him to have gone with any of the other options before the island.

The sun was coming up and with the light a voice eventually rang out its announcement to the examinees and gave the instructions to pick one of four points. Unki jumped at the sound of the voice, completely not expecting something booming like that at this hour. She would look at Jay, then Shiro, and then to the ground.
Here. Inland. Wind. Someplace at sea.
Unki had her doubts. She set three fingers to her lips and her thoughts flow over the details: The net lady did give her a pretty compelling piece of knowledge and Unki could agree with the idea of this scheme to look for a stadium in the vicinity being a trick. Moreover, this humble fishing village didn’t seem like the place to linger around for the entirety of the examination as it could interfere with the flow of its non-shinobi people, moving inland was a possibility. To hop the boat for a trip to the Land of Wind would have been valid but incredibly far-fetched in the sense of the length of time to get there. Competitors were better off running the journey on foot to the Wind than following the coast of the Land of Fire. The second boat, to set out for sea, was also a sound option. Jay described: lack of stadium, an island, a charter; and paired with the open-ended lead from the net-lady about ‘walking’ to a location if you could use a boat’, Unki’s conclusion was narrowed to the choice of selecting the boat which heads someplace at sea.
“Given on his lead,” she said with one hand pointing to Jay,“and what Shiro-chan said,” then her other hand would cross its twin and point at Shiro, “and what the lady with the net told me, my choice would be to hop on the boat to the set out to sea.”
It seems Unki had quite the set of avid helpers at her hand and gave them each a chance to speak their piece before sticking completely with her choice. If these apparent comrades were working with her, she didn’t want to leave them behind so quickly.

An announcement would sound right after telling her the possible options, meaning that this must have been a test, just one part of the Chuunin Exams. Heading to the docks, she figured that if the bird came from the direction of the wind country, then she'd already narrowed her options down to two. Upon arriving at the docks, she would find a few others boarding the ship bound for the sea. Perhaps they had found information that Hatsu hadn't, which would narrow her options down to one. Her cloud headband shining bright in the sun with all its small chips and scrapes, she would board the boat headed for somewhere out at sea as well.

Xion didn't mean to be rude, but once the announcement was made, it was clear what she had to do. "Thank you, and good bye," were her final words to the village boy before they parted ways. She was going to stay true to her original decision to search by see first, so that already narrowed the choice down between two booms that no doubt summoned boats. Don't ask why she was certain that sound of explosions meant boats, Xion just was.
As luck would have it, Xion boarded the ship heading further out into sea.

Each Sharingan ability or technique swapped must be retrained and adjusted to, a process that takes twenty [20] posts at first for each Sharingan ability/technique, is reduced by two [2] posts every time the Sharingan ability/technique is safely retrained, and can take a minimum of six [6] posts per Sharingan ability/technique. If necessary, Kagerou can perform a riskier, instant swap on the fly without the readjustment period, but these swaps can only last for up to five [5] posts and disables the Sharingan, which needs to recover from the strain, for twice [x2] the number of posts that the swap lasted for. Techniques learned with the 'To Copy' Sharingan ability, which can be swapped out, are not forgotten but must be retrained every time Kagerou safely swaps to the 'To Copy' ability. Instant swaps to the 'To Copy' ability give Kagerou all of her copied techniques without needing to retrain them. For every time Kagerou safely swaps to her 'To Copy' ability, her copied techniques take two [2] less posts to retrain, going down to a minimum of one [1] post to retrain each copied technique.
• Miracle Performance - Kagerou can perform healing eiseijutsu through her performance/instrument as if it was ninjutsu of the same rank. Plants cultivated by Kagerou grow as if the soil they are nourished by is +1 grade higher than it actually is. Unfertilized soil yields crops in 2 rl weeks. Low-grade fertilizer yields crops in 1 week. High-grade fertilizer reaches a new level of fast and yields crops in 4 days. "Yeah yeah, I caught that. On my way~" It seemed their plan to burst out in all directions like madmen with clones would never even see the light of day. Placing his hands behind himslef, Raichi intertwined his fingers and began to walk very nonchalant towards the docks. "Come my little night crawler. Off to the docks we go, it seems our time to have fun has come to an end." Once he reached the docks, he would give his info to the proctor that was designated for the island boat. Waddling his way over to his friends the young Senju would crouch down to be eye level with Fang. From here he would just stare at the mammal before breaking into a wide grin while giving the wolf a good scratching behind the ears. "I would have preferred the other idea, but this works too I suppose," it was clear he was speaking to Kisuke.

Yuna heard the announcement and entered the boat heading for the island.
It's now or never, she thought, and latched onto the sleeve of Shiro's jacket to tow him along who didn't seem overly lively. He was simply going a' drift with the current of her actions and appears to be compliant with Unki's lighthearted . Thankfully, the choice to march off to the docks wasn't one of her potentially impulsive selections but something put together after some careful thought. .
The sight of other presumable ninja making the same choice was reassuring. Unki makes her entrance, bright and bubbly, and joins the company seeking passage to the sea at banner with the symbol of waves.

"..."Shiori just kinda followed Kisuke outside and to the proctor, lighting up another cigarette. She'd take a step back from Fang, Kisuke, and Raichi, looking disinterested, and wondering if she'd made the right call about not staying here.

๑๑๑๑When the second attack came, Hideo moved quickly out of the way of the area deciding instead to jump forward and pull two of the men out of the way as Yuna blocked with her shield. It seemed odd that he hadn't decided to attack, however Hideo was more observing than doing anything else. It didn't take long for the team as a whole to bring the prawn down though however, the men having a small celebration before hauling its bits up to the boat. And as they made their way back, eyes still active Hideo peered as far as he could onto the island before the left, and then into the depths of the sea itself to see just what was following them at that time.
As they neared the docks and landed, he helped the men carry some stuff off the boat, motioning to Wata and speaking. "Don't forget, I'm giving my part of the hall to Meshi at the inn. Please make sure he gets it as promised." As he hopped off the ship for the last time, a girl introduced herself to the group. She was from Kirigakure, a place he'd heard little about but always wanted to see. Nodding towards her he muttered, "Hideo of Suna. Actually..."
Before he could get the words out exam shinobi began to appear, large ships erupting from the sea below as gallons upon gallons of water cascaded off of the large vessels. As an announcement was made, Fang's owner seemed to come by and offer some thanks and a bit of advice from what the dog had picked up. So Fang wasn't just being odd, he was tailing the group as well. The dog was certainly cunning, and Hideo rubbed his head as he muttered to the boy who owned him, "No worries, he was in good hands. Thanks for the info, I have to say I concur with the decision." Yuna made it over to the ship with the wave symbol and Hideo followed, signing up on the clipboard. He just hoped he was right.

As people filed onto the boat headed out to sea en masse, the other examiners started interviewing the townsfolk. The stone archway crumbled soon thereafter and the banner was rolled up. The second ship would follow the one headed for the sea without any fuss, as though it had been planning to go there from the beginning.
After a few hours of sailing, a large fog embankment would become visible on the horizon, then quickly overtake the ship. The waters were calm, almost eerily so. Few gulls cawed overhead. The early rays of the morning sun dyed the dog an eerie orange-yellow, and the smell of the ocean spray would drown out almost all others. Gradually, a hint of an earthy odor would break through the fog, and not long thereafter the ship would find itself in a clear bay with what looked to be a small tropical island ahead...
