The Masque of the Red Death [Open and ACCEPTING!!]

Scarlet hesitated a bit but walked in. As he closed the door Scarlet turned to him but couldn't look at him straight in the eyes. "Um...I-I wanted to talk to you about something..."

"O-of course," Nicholas stuttered. He was still flustered to be in Scarlet's presence but he knew he had to confront her soon. He was, in a way, glad that she had come. Now they can talk.

"Please sit down. I shall get refreshments and the we can talk," he said and he cam back with tea. "Forgive me, this is all I have," he apologized as he sat down opposite of Scarlet.

"It's ok..." she said and smiled still avoiding to look at him. She cleared her throat, "Well you see...I-I well...umm.." She tried to look for the words and kept stuttering.

"W-well, I guess I should start then. i h-have something to say too," Nicholas stuttered too. " I..I have been having these w-weird feeling lately," he looked away. "And all of them are about you," he said shamely.

Scarlet looked up at him, "It is the same for me....I-I think that....that...I may have...developed strong feelings...t-toward y-you." She finally choked out and then looked away her face red.

"I-I do too," he said in surprise and he look at Scarlet who was blushing. He took a deep breath. "I-I think...maybe I know...that I have f-fallen in love with you," Nicholas said.

Scarlet blushed even more when he confessed his love to her. "I-I-I think i would have to say the same..." She smiled and looked at him finally meeting his eyes.

Then there was the moment of awkward silence. Nicholas didn't knew what to do. He was in shock and he was numb from the feeling of relief. He didn't know what to do at all.

"Umm..ummm...well it seems that you were asleep..I apologize for waking you up!" She said as she got up suddenly and walked toward the door still blushing. "I-I'll...see...see you later.."

"W-wait!" Nicholas ran after Scarlet. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be quiet. I-I was shocked, and really glad." He said behind Scarlet. "I-I didn't know what to do. I've never faced this situation before," he said sheepishly.

Scarlet let her hand drop from the door knob and she turned to face Nicholas. "D-don't apologize...i was shocked as well. I-I don't really know what to do in these types of situations.."

Th awkward silence again.

"S-shall we go for a walk again? M-maybe we can understand each other t-that way," Nicholas said while fighting to keep his blush at bay.

"Y-yeah that sounds like a good idea.." Scarlet then opened the door only to see that the sun was setting....How long were we in here in silence?! She thought to herself then walked outside.

They were walking along the shore. The scene from the morning somehow forgotten and they were walking in silence, yet again.

"May I ask, since when h-have you b-been feeling...that way?" Nicholas hesitated at the question.

Scarlet looked foward and continued to walk, "Um..I think it was when we were in the garden...well it was more of a strong liking. THen i guess...it developed further as time went on..."
