"Oh don't worry about our last member. They'll be ready to meet us when we get there!" Scarlet told Queen, sticking her tongue out with a wink. "And yes, multiple people can use the gem at the same time. Five at once to be exact. See where this is going? We all win and we all get the prize. As for the other contenders, well again that's something The Arena Master keeps close to the vest. He's one of the few people more cunning than I am," she explained, pressing her hand proudly against her chest. "So I couldn't get any specific info on who got the invites, but I can pretty much guarantee that a DWMA team will be there. Death won't pass up the opportunity to get hold of a gem like that. And keep it out of the hands of other less savory people. Like me." She wagged her finger in the air as she talked, as if she were explaining some new concept to them. "So I admit much to my embarrassment that we're going in a little blind....well, a lot blind. But that's what makes it even more fun right?" It was at this moment that Jessica finally spoke up. "So umm....these guys are going to be really strong right?" She asked quietly. Scarlet nodded. "For sure!" She replied enthusiastically. "I know you'll feel a little out of your league but once you resonate with Misty I think you'll understand why I brought you along." She turned back to the others. "Now of course I want the gem for the same reason you probably do; to get the being that represents my inmost desire, so I'm laying all my cards flat on the table with that." Of course she wasn't. "Soooo, anything else?" She asked brightly. |

Well given she had most of the info she wanted she knew better than to assume Scarlet had placed all her cards on the table, it would be so unlike her to do so but at the very least she got what she wanted which was the use of said gem being able to work on 5 people.
"Very well love, then I'll leave the cunning and politics to you and I handle the fist fights and of course Queen handling the tough guys"
Queen asked not to be left alone on the front lines to which Misty smiled tenderly at the kitsune.
"Oh no no no Queen, you're staying in the back. You're our powerhouse... we can't simply let them know you are... you can fight on par or play a supportive role. If I'm not mistaken there would be a to of deceiving in the battlefield if they allowed someone like Scarlet to join... which means we can't let our trump cards shine that easily. That said..."
Misty would turn over to Scarlet.
"Given I'm the middle ground here I should be the one acting like the powerhouse in the front lines since it would be easier to get me out from a tough situation."
Said Misty, thinking to have understood everything until Scarlet mentioned Jessica to resonate with Misty.
"Excuse me?"
Said the brunette a little alarmed by the fact Scarlet suggesting such thing.
"Scarlet, I don't want to break your hopes or anything but haven't you forgotten I usually break up my meisters during sessions?"
Said the brunette as so far no one had been able to wield her without getting hurt on the long run.
"That's kinda why I don't have a meister? Remember?"
Misty would quickly turn on Jessica, walking up to her and looking down so she could see her face.
"Oi, love, how many weapons have you wielded? And how strong are they?"
The weapon asked, wondering just how experienced was Jessica as a Meister.

The brunette would sigh as she head Jessica state she had pretty much no proof of experience as a meister. Then again it was scarlet who we were talking about so it she may be able to hold for a bit.
"And... you expect us to fight together?"
Misty asked Scarlet, who claimed it would all be fine, which made the brunette cross her arms.
"Well, we haven't even tried to see if we are even compatible.. I mean I could force that... but you should know what would happen if I keep doing this on the long run."
The magician didn't seem to back off ever since she pointed them as a couple.
"Fine, but It would be on one condition... and I'm not taking No as an answer."
Misty demanded, not showing what the condition was, keeping it for later.
As Queen brought a point, Misty looked around as they indeed had one character short for their team.
The place around them didn't look like an arena either. But with someone more cunning than the arena master she didn't mind much of this place, for all she knew it could also be some sort or illusion.
"Right, I would like to meet this fifth guy... or girl. Or thing, I just hope it's not another rookie... no offense Jess... but I can't babysit more than one person."
The brunette said before extending her arm and pulling the blue haired meister, capturing her neck as she messed with her hair with her free hand.
"Don't worry love, I'll take good care of you... for as much as I can at least. Do your best not to die on me alright?"
Misty replied those grim words with a friendly grin and a sweet voice.

"I sure do!" Scarlet answered Misty's question without hesitation. She raised an eyebrow at Misty's demand. "Well okay, as long as it's not anything too crazy." Jessica's eyes widened in surprise as Misty grabbed her. "Wh-hey!" Jessica complained in embarrassment as Misty ruffled her hair. "U-uh...thanks..." she replied quietly to Misty's last statement.
Scarlet put a finger on her chin, looking up as she thought about Queen's question. "Ummmm...well she's usually pretty punctual so she should be here annnny....ah!" A figure appeared in the sky as the wavelength of a kishin was suddenly able to be sensed. The figure grew closed until it was able to be made out. Fleur DeValentine flew through the sky, wings extended until she hovered above them slowly descending to the ground. She touched down lightly, the crystals on her wings glowing brightly and leaving a slight, colorful afterburns as if they were jet engines. The grass swayed as the light of her crystals faded back to normal. "Oh you made it! I'm so glad!" Fleur rolled her eyes. "That form again? What is it with you and LARPing as a little kid?" She asked in annoyance. "Oh come on Fleur, just because you're stuck as a little kid doesn't mean the rest of us can't enjoy it once in a while," she teased. "Why you little -" "THIS is Fleur Devalentine," Scarlet began introductions, cutting off Fleur's reply. "And these are Jessica, Misty and Queen in that order." "Well at least ONE of them looks strong," huffed Fleur in reply. "Oh you all have so little faith in me," Scarlet opined. "Regardless, our 5 man team is here, and 30 minutes early as well. I'd say we're starting things off right."
As they talked, Queen would suddenly be able to feel a strange presence about 10 feet away from her, but it suddenly vanished without a trace almost as quickly at it had appeared. |

As introductions seemed to keep coming, While Misty wasn't aware of the presence Queen felt, she did notice the kitsune's reaction to it, making a mental note that they might be under surveillance.
"Ah, pleased to meet you Miss Valentine. Hope we can get along and not at each other's throats"
Misty greeted while still holding her lovely hostage within her grasp.
"Oi Jess, say hi to our newest member, don't be rude."
The brunette teased while messing with Jessica's hair for a bit before letting her go. A small tribal could be seen around Jessica's neck as if a necklace for just a bit before fading a way in a fraction of a second.
Staring at the kishin, she would indeed be impressed since she felt like she could pack a punch. Hopefully she wouldn't let them down on that department. The less strength she had to use, the better.
As Scarlet agreed to her demand, Misty grinned deviously.
"why thank you love"
And with a chuckle said grin would vaporize into a playful smile.

"It's DEvalentine, and don't expect me to pick up your slack," Fleur told Misty. "Um, hi," Jessica told Fleur in response to Misty's encouragement. Fleur didn't reply, simply giving Jessica a dismissive wave. "Sooo, I DID find something out about this little test," Fleur began, flashing a devious smile to the group. "Oh do tell!" Scarlet replied excitedly (though whether or not she was faking her enthusiasm was unclear). Fleur paused for a moment, drawing out the suspense. "There are 4 teams including ours." Scarlet clapped her hands together "Oh that's great Fleur! I'm impressed!" Scarlet was of course playing to Fleur's ego to get her to spill the beans fully. "You shouldn't be. It's me after all. Also, The DWMA are sending a five-man team called "Team Death". No sense of creativity at all really. I know a certain Machinist by the name of Naomi Dutrow is on it." "Hmm..." mused Scarlet. "That's interesting. Though I'm not surprised: she's been hanging around the DWMA for a while and she's fairly strong so it was only a matter of time until Lord Death put her to use." Fleur nodded sagely. Her expression became serious again. The tone in her voice became dark, almost foreboding. "But...another one of the teams....they have a member of The Machinist Royal guard as a participant." Scarlet was silent for a long moment. "Oh...that's going to be a problem...." It was the first time Misty or any of the others had seen Scarlet genuinely worried. Or at least the first time she was so worried she couldn't hide it. "It will definitely," Fleur agreed. Scarlet rubbed her chin, looking down at the ground in thought. Jessica gave a questioning look but didn't put anything to voice. For once Scarlet was completely silent as she stared at the ground seeming to be going over her options. "I suppose they had to show up sooner or later...." |

And there she was, another pompous buffoon that had the strength to back up her ego.
Misty simply smiled, and kept on her own. Fleur was already on her black list but knew better than to let that take the best of her. At any rate, no matter how high and mighty Fleur wished to play, she had yet to know her place which made the Brunette giggle and even bare with Fleur's presence. After all, with all her pride and strength, Fleur was nothing but a piece in Scarlet's little game.
Her attention drifted back on queen. Who seemed as aloof as always. She couldn't blame her for it.
She looked back at the trio behind her and started making mental notes.
"Trusts Scarlet, maybe... look after the newbie, try not to break it... and don't trust the buffoon, she might think she's too valuable to take a one for the team."
At this rate the only one she knew she could trust within the fight was Queen, so she'll had to figure a way to play around her and eventually see how to play around the rest of her teammates.
They kept talking regarding the upcoming teams, at the very least there was some intel on their foes... paying close attention towards these, Machinists and Royal guards.
She learned about the machinist given the news reports after their war against DMWA. Scarlet seemed serious when a Royal guard was mentioned, Misty played dumb and kept her carefree persona around, yet she made a mental not one them.
"machinists... so strange yet so familiar."
She gave herself the time to kneel and look at the ground for a simple stone.
"Hmmm .... "
She remained thoughtful for a moment. At the very least the most bothersome foes she could think of would be these last groups... people with augmentations that let you diminish or nullify a certain threat... given they were Meisters, Weapons, Witches, Demons and / or Kitsunes.
With various combinations. All of them had a strength and a flaw, otherwise the DMWA would had fallen shortly after. Therefore. There had to be something they could exploit.
All she could think about were ways to gain intel on the enemy team. Swipe quickly with her hunter chains, in order to identify who would be augmented against her. However....
"... maybe..."
She placed the rock upon the ground and drew a circle around it.
"....Schrodinger's cat..."
Misty mumbled to herself, looking thoughtful upon a meaningless pebble on the ground.
"...Guerrilla...Blitzkrieg...Zhúkov.... Black hawk... Kursk..."
Misty would finally stop, as if she had found something... she simply smiled, standing up before walking over to Queen.
"Say... Queenie... mind telling me a little more about your... school."
Asked the brunette while standing next to Queen, of course by School, she would mean the discipline invested on Queen and her troops.

Jessica knelt down in the grass next to Misty. "Um, what are you doing?" She asked politely. Scarlet was still lost in thought along with Fleur when there was a sudden whining sound, much like Fleur's crystals when she flew. And it was caused by a very similar source. In the air another figure could been seen heading towards the field the group was in. After several moments the figure landed on the ground though her landing was somewhat rougher than Fleur's more graceful one. She gazed at the group for a moment before giving a slight nod. Other than that she didn't acknowledge them. Scarlet looked up from her thoughts, turning to Fleur. "Hm, that looks like an android from Lucrem Labs. I thought that place got destroyed..." Fleur nodded. "It was," she replied. "By a DWMA team no less. I guess the surviving androids had to find other lines of work." No sooner had they finished speaking than another figure showed up in a flash of light. It was a young girl with bright purple eyes, though neither Scarlet nor Fleur seemed to recognize her. She looked calm, almost bored but one could tell she was alert. She walked over to where the android was and they began conversing in low voices. "Guess they're on the same team," Fleur mused. Scarlet clapped her hands together as she seemed to remember something. "Oh right! We still need to think of a team name," she told the group. "They have to put something down on the roster. It completely slipped my mind." She looked at their newly formed team. "Any suggestions?" She asked.
