Mission: Burning Cards Number of Teams Allowed: 1Team 1: Misty, Queen, Scarlet and Jessica Jetter Reward: ????? Summary: For most it was just another day in Death City, but for Misty and Queen it would be a day that changed everything. Scarlet had an offer for the two of them. One they would both benefit from. Of course, there was benefit for her as well. It was Scarlet after all. Part of her prize was already in tow. She looked down at the wide-eyed girl following her as she walked. The child had no idea what was going to happen to her, but Scarlet was used to dealing with those kinds of situations. She gave the girl a reassuring smile when she glanced her way. A challenge had been issued. Or perhaps a test. Or a dare. With the Arena Master no one could really be sure. The only thing you knew is that he had alternative motives. Whatever it was Scarlet was going to answer it and she knew two others who would with the right incentive. And if there was one thing Scarlet knew about it was incentive. It was rare Scarlet walked into anyone else's game but this prize was too tempting to pass up. She knew what was coming in the future and she knew that if she wanted to survive the coming storm this wasn't an offer she couldn't refuse. She had to make sure she had an offer her two would-be teammates couldn't refuse either.

♦The Magician♦ Death is a joke...And I'm the punchline There was a knock at the door. It was a sharp, confident one. On the other side were two souls. One was a female Meister. Strong but not overly so. The other was a regular human child. Or so it would appear to anyone who didn't know better. The Meister fidgeted with the hem of her skirt as they waited for the occupants to open the door. "Umm....Scarlet?" The little girl looked up at her. "Hannah," she replied sweetly. "Oh, right. Hannah, are you sure this is okay?" The pink-haired little girl shrugged. "Yeah it should be fine. Don't worry about it." The Meister didn't seem entirely convinced but she didn't raise any further objections. The pink-haired girl stretched her arms above her head, standing on her tip-toes as she loosened her muscles. "Just leave everything to little old Hannah. I'll have us on our way to the arenas in no time with two new friends to join us on our adventures." The Meister cocked her head quizzically. "Adventures?" Hannah waved her hand dismissively. "Yeah don't worry you'll see. And you'll have a new big sis to take care of you and everything." Jessica fidgeted again. "B-big sis?" Hannah flashed the girl a smile. "Yeah! You'll love her don't worry! She's a good friend of mine and she'll love you to pieces."

While the visitors held their brief chat at the door, those who lived there were not able to hear them until later on.
Beneath the main floor at the basement, A certain Kitsune and a brunette would find themselves engaged in combat with a no powers restriction, only strength, speed, reflexes and wit to be held, most likely in case the kitsune would find herself fighting a golem,or a team that held a golem given how good they were at restricting her abilities. Which, would also help the other girl since it was a preventive measure as well as an opportunity to raise her physical performance in battle. Since keeping up with the kitsune wasn't an easy task.
After the session was finally over, the brunette would hit the showers, before her muscles would be too tired to even move. It was better to cool them down so to speak with a relaxing shower.
"Are you sure you can't use any powers while these guys are around?"
Asked Misty, the brunette, curious about these golems the kitsune spoke off.

 Lilith Treinna (Queen of Darkness) Close up image_________________________________________ Queen was relaxing in the chair after the whole workout, to her it was more easier than it would have been with the brunette, as she had immense strength and could easily use it so while misty was tired queen was still in her good condition, out of breathe slightly from the constant team up from the golems "Well...its more of a strategy...they are unaffected by anything but physically induced attacks" she explained before her ear would twitch "Someones at the door...have fun with that" This battle is to the strong _________________________________________

Misty would hear Queen's explanation about how fighting with golems worked. Which didn't seem to be much of a problem for her given she was mostly into physical combat. But it was good to know.
Drying her hair up, it wasn't until Queen stated someone was at the door, that Misty remembered they were not using any skills at all. Turning her soul perception on, she would notice there were two individuals, nothing really special form what her perception could tell so far.
"well that's weird... I wasn't expecting anyone"
The brunette would head upstairs and to the door, opening it slightly as she was greeted by the sunlight which made her place a hand just above her forehead with a slight frown while her eyes got used to the light.
On the meantime both silhouettes were only that, so Hannah and Jessica's identities were still hidden under the sunlight for a few seconds.
"Oh hello... may I help you?"
Asked the brunette, her guard down apparently but knowing her well, she could expect that Misty was either indeed with her guard down, or having a lovely facade up, being actually ready to kill them both should something bothered her. After all, old habits died hard and Ty chan surely gave Misty quite a few.

♦The Magician♦ Death is a joke...And I'm the punchline Hannah stopped stretching as Misty opened the door. "Wow Misty, you've been working out haven't you?" The pink-haired girl exclaimed. "Don't tell me you've forgotten me already! It's your old friend Scarlet! This is my second most favorite form after all! The only annoying thing is sometimes little boys will give me flowers. It's kinda cute but it gets annoying. Ah!- oh yeah I came here to see you and your kitsune friend! How would you liiiiiiiiiiiiiike....to go on a fun adventure with us!" She turned quickly to the Meister. "This here is Jessica, a DWMA Meister who is coming along as well. She's a friend of mine and she's fairly strong but she has a long way to go. She could reaaallllly benefit from a tutor. So I was wondering if you would take her under your wing as well." She glanced as the Meister who took this opportunity to introduce herself. "H-hello, I'm Jessica. Sc-I mean Hannah asked me to come along with her. Ah, you're Misty...right? She said you could help me become stronger."

Misty would wait for their silhouettes to become visible once her eyes were used to the light. Hearing their voices she was quick to pinpoint their locations based on the sound of their voices, a vague image still but less necessary as time passed and Misty was finally able to see them. It appeared Scarlet had changed forms, of course the brunette's eyes widened if only a little when Scarlet introduced herself, making sure to look at her first as to identify her current form, she would proceed to follow as Scarlet gave up the introductions with Jess being the blue haired girl who appeared to need some training.
"Well I can't say I haven't trained... you look... good...Scarlet"
Said the brunette, not really used to see her like a little child. More over, it appeared there was a favor being asked from Scarlet which meant not only to train Jessica but also to have Queen and herself join them on a journey.
"Oi stop your tracks there love..."
Misty would walk up and look down on Scarlet given... well, Misty was taller now.
"... I may need a minute to get used to it...You're not going to pull the cops on me are you?"
Said the brunette as a poorly taste of a joke regarding a fake memory that Scarlet ignored. Misty would finally smile and ease herself up, even going as far as to pet the little magician in the head.
"Look I know you are up to something... I know you... at least that much but you gotta reduce your losses love... see. I'm not sure if I'm up for a mission with a rookie... even less asking my partner to join in... I'm not trying to look down on your lass here, but if she could use my tutoring it means she might die by her lack of strength by me... or my partner, are you really sure you wanna take us for a stroll? Can't say it can't be fun but I'm sure as hell it's not going to be safe. You're not one to simply ask people to go out on a walk by the park"
The brunette answered, feeling completely comfortable around Scarlet, there wasn't a single hint of intimidation or adoration towards the magician. More like there was some hesitation regarding taking an apprentice.
After all, should Scarlet remember the past event in the trip to the future. Aunt Larah dis stated Ty was famous from killing any apprentice that Scarlet brought to their house. And while Misty seemed to grow far from Ty, it didn't change the fact they were the same person and that their practices might end up killing an apprentice either accidentally or "accidentally".
On the other hand, it had been a while since she last saw Scarlet, and given people where throwing favors to the air, she considered asking a few for herself should Scarlet insist on the matter.
On the other hand, she would contact Queen through a mental link created by Queen's scarf as a medium.
"Oi Queen, we do have visitors... ol work friend of mine... she seem's to know you're here... she wants to hire us for a job... What do you say? interested?"

Lilith Treinna (Queen of Darkness) Close up image_________________________________________ Queen could hear everything that as being talked about as she just yawned in the basement, the lack of movement was getting to her thus making her tired, it wasn't until misty messaged queen through a link, which when she finished the question asked she would be behind the two guests. Before they could even respond to her presence she would already speak up "No...not interested" she stated bluntly "Theres no reason or benefit to helping out...if You want to misty go for it...Just don;t see how helping people I don't know will benefit me in any way" she stated with her arms crossed. ♦The Magician♦ Death is a joke...And I'm the punchline "Awww you look good too Misty!" Scarlet replied, giving Misty's hard stomach a light pat. She paused as Misty continued. She giggled when Misty pet her on the head. She had the little girl thing down pat. Or maybe she truly was a little girl at heart. Who knew? She puffed her cheeks when Misty accused her of of being up to something. "Well of course I'm up to something!" She replied. "I'm ALWAYS up to something." She sighed when Misty began to raise some objections and concerned. "Look don't worry about it. You know me. You think I haven't thought of all that? We'll be fine, I have it allll planned out. It won't be easy of course but even with the newbie we can do it. Thought we really, really do need your fluffy friend." Jessica blushed slightly as Misty looked her up and down, looking away and playing with the hem of her skirt again nervously.

Misty was really trying hard to take Scarlet seriously, but given how natural it was for the magician to play as a little kid, made it difficult for the brunette to keep looking at Scarlet as anything but a child.
"Thanks... I guess..."
She gave a small chuckle when Scarlet would pat her stomach.
"...don't get any weird ideas, don't get any weird ideas damn it!"
She thought for herself, luckily Scarlet called out her attention once more as she confessed to be always up to something.
"It... figures..."
The brunette replied, then Scarlet proceeded to explain there was nothing to worry about bringing Jessica with them, she assure it, but every time Misty turned over to meet Jessica, all she saw was a flustered girl playing with her skirt.
"... no offense Scarlet but can you really blame me for thinking that way?... we both heard it from aunt Larah ... I have.... weird... habits..."
Misty said trying to censor the part of "killing anyone getting near her Scarlet" as to prevent scaring Jessica.
Scarlet however, insisted that Jessica could pull things out, as well as the need of Misty's fluffy friend.
"well... thing is.. She's not interested in partaking businesses with other people... I mean you could always try and get something she's interested ... other than that I'm not really sure she's going to even look at you...she's a little lazy on that matter. Not much of a talker"
Misty replied with a silly chuckle, hoping Scarlet would understand the kind of person Queen was and how to deal with her.

♦The Magician♦ Death is a joke...And I'm the punchline Scarlet rocked back and forth on her heels for a moment, hands clasped behind her back with a thoughtful expression on her face. "Hmmmm, well I think I'll have something she likes. And yeah I don't blame you but you really need to have a little more faith in me. I'm not called a magician for nothin." She stopped rocking after a few more moments. "It'll be a win-win for all of us." She didn't seem overly surprised as Queen spoke up suddenly from behind them, though she did know who she was dealing with. It was part of the reason she had come. Jessica on the other hand jumped slightly and turned to look at Queen. "Hey Queen! Don't worry there's something in this for you too. You see, the prize for this particular adventure is something even someone as...aloof as you would like: it's a pretty gem. You seem like the kind of girl who would appreciate a pretty gem that can also manifest a being that reflects the desire of your heart, right? And before you poo-poo it, think long and hard about what that would mean exactly. A living being, that reflects the desire of your heart. What do you think that could mean?" Jessica looked back at Scarlet in surprise. Apparently even she hadn't known about this prize either.

Lilith Treinna (Queen of Darkness) Close up image_________________________________________ Queen just stood there her arms crossed, one of them didn;t seem surprised that she was behind them all a sudden but the other one jumped from the sudden appearance. her tail moving back and forth as she simply just waited for them to leave or to see if they would continue to ramble on about this quest. As she waited the pink haired girl seemed to try and convince queen, this time with the idea of a Ge that could manifest her desire "hmm? a Gem that creates a desire's true form?" she asked as she would think a bit on it before sighing "Fine...If she decides to go I'll accompany" she stated "But try anything and I leave" she explained being that she still didn't trust them since she was rare to trust anyone new. ♦The Magician♦ Death is a joke...And I'm the punchline Scarlet grinned as she heard both Queen's and Misty's responses. "Well alright! I'm glad you've both come around!" Scarlet shook Misty's hand firmly. "So basically, what we're gonna do is accept an invitation from none other than The Arena Master himself. In order for us to get this gem we have to win an umm....tournament of sorts. One that requires us to have 5 man teams. There's going to be a few other teams as well who are going for the same prize so we'll have to fight them for it. Literally and probably in other ways. The Arena Master plays his cards pretty close to the vest so even I couldn't figure out what events he's planning but he's known for being pretty creative so you should be ready for anything. Also, there will be a feast beforehand with all the teams so we'll have to behave ourselves while we're there. Don't worry, The Arena Master has this thing for politeness so he won't do anything like poison the food or anything. But once the tournament starts anything is game. Sounds fun huh?"
