I HAVE A QUESTION.
Can petrarchan sonnets be in quadrameter instead of pentameter? I know that the sonnet form is traditionally iambic pentameter but my research says it can be tetrameter or hexameter. Is quad accepted or does that make it not a sonnet?
Quad is better for comedic smile
EDIT: NEVERMIND, I wrote one in pentameter.
And now I see before me a lush spread
Of calories, seen through a starving haze
That comes of eating not a crumb for days
(That happens when you forgo taking meds)
And so I fall upon it like the dead
In zombie movies; in a killer craze
I crunch the bones, and slurp the sauce and glaze,
Partake of flesh and blood and break the bread.
I read somewhere that food of gods is flesh
I read somewhere that food of gods is mead
The flesh of all the grain is in the seed
And what's a stalk when all is said and thresh'd?
And so I face this meal, and face my fate:
This muffin top is gonna have to wait.
