And I've figured out why my story didn't do well in another contest - I've had one of my smart, nerdy betas read it, and apparently the numerous clues I thought I was dropping are less than adequate, so it's entirely possible that they had no idea what was going on.

I told them my schedule and that I would love to speak with them to get more information. They agree to have me call them this afternoon. SO as SOON as I was out of class, I called [******** duh]. They say, sorry, we already hired someone. It was really quick.

.....WHAT THE ********.

Semi-related, since Monday night, I have applied to a total of 23 positions in the mental health field, spanning across 14 different agencies. Plus, a cafe and Barnes & Noble.

...I seriously want a new job. Argh.
