Critiques require so much damn time. I could go on and on but then I realise I had already written over 700 words on a critique that took about 40 mins to write. How on earth do you do it?

I have lots of practice, and I'm fairly emotionally detached from the process. If someone wants to argue with me about it, let them. It's a writing contest on a forum.
