(Evening)

Song dragged her hooves along the ground as she left the cafeteria. As with the rest of her evening, her evening meal had been uneventful, and frankly, she felt exhausted. She'd been here too long. It had been at least a month. A month since she'd been able to look outside and see the sun. A month since she could dance, or fight, or fly, or even move freely. And by what right was she confined so? True, she'd killed people before, people who had in no way harmed her, but she was a carnivore. It was natural. Death was also natural. There was no guarantee that the afterlife would be unpleasant, even! But there was no sense to this torturous confinement! The harm she'd brought to others certainly didn't warrant this! And they had the nerve to say, of all things, that they were helping her! Song's depression quickly heated into rage. It was as if they were somehow better than her for thinking as they did, that she wasn't entitled to her own train of thought! If any of this was right, then she was glad to be wrong!

As she set off in the direction of her room, her attention was caught by a very peculiar sound. It took her a few seconds to understand that the gravely sound was a voice. It was laughter. Zacky's voice. Her mood instantly improving, she set off towards the sound. At the moment, Zacky was the closest thing she had to an ally in this place. As she navigated the halls, the laughter continued. It sounded hysterical. In a place like this, what could possibly be that funny? Did Zacky "snap?"

When she caught up to Zacky, he was still laughing, facing the wall, and was barely standing. Not good. There was nobody present who could have said or done anything to make him laugh like that. She approached him briskly. "Hey, Zacky. You alright?" She gave him a prod with her wing. "Snap out of it." She didn't bother hiding the concern in her voice.
