A patient, doll-like vampire sat on the back-seat of an open carriage with hands folded on his lap, analyzing his surroundings until the young boy finally recognized the building that had been beyond the large trees scattered above, and around him. Sky-blue eyes widened as the vehicle was finally approaching the outskirts that surrounded that college Yurei is to attend once more, a sigh escaping from the boy's petal-pink lips at the thought of escaping the hell that had been his home. Well, another year of "fun". Anything was better than having dinner with two stuck-up older brothers who did nothing but talk about their achievements, and parents who did nothing but praise them for their achievements, no matter how small they seemed to be. God knows how many times Yurei had to excuse himself from dinner .. but hey .. it kept him looking skinny. Ah! He already knew what he would do when he got there. A bite of an apple would sound nice. The young vampire lay back on his seat. "It's just up ahead. I won't need to go shopping today. Everything is in my dorm already." he told the driver, who merely nodded without even sparing a glance back, "It doesn't even matter if I'm late anyway ..." Yurei mumbled the last part of his sentence under his breath before they made their way into the city ... and inevitably, toward the school that he called his "second home".

"Here. The front gates." Just those words forced the carriage to a halt as Yurei turned his head around to face them, the two finally arriving after a short while. With the horse calmed down, the driver quickly got out of his seat to open the door for the young master, who waited a bit before beginning to step out. He seemed to just marvel at the large, school building .. in which was surrounded by smaller school buildings that bore no significance when compared to the main one. There it was ... under the massive, blue morning sky .... "Young Master?" Yurei flinched at the words as he was snapped out of his daydreaming, a pale hand running through bubblegum locks at the sudden breeze that blew by, greeting him. "Yes, I'm awake." Yurei smiled before taking the driver's hand to jump out, revealing the full get-up that he decided would be the "first day's armor". Ruffles adorned each and every end of ribbons that hugged his figure. Long, black stockings covered his legs under red ballet shoes. A rose head-band served as a crown atop pink locks of short hair. "Thank you. You may leave now." The male turned his head to face the kneeling driver, who again nodded before running back to his carriage. This was going to be Yurei's second year at the academy .. and the tolling of the great bells signified it as he stepped through the gates, ruby shoes clicking with each movement forward.

If anything, Yurei was early. Blue orbs glanced around outside to find little to no one there .. well .. the bell had rung .. maybe they were all just good students who decided to go to homeroom so they wouldn't be late. He was also making sure that the young vampire didn't stumble upon any weres. Those nasty things hated his kind. Oh well. What happens, happens. A more important thing to think about was if Yurei should make an appearance for homeroom? Was it worth it? Ugh. Decisions, decisions. "Might as well show up there too .. then." he sighed, "There will be new faces after all .. I'll just make sure they know who I am." Last year's batch ... meh. He expected more. Maybe this year's batch would serve him something better. Yurei giggled at the images of astonished reactions flickering in his mind. There may also be jealous faces there mixed in from the women whom he knew were below him. But first, where should Yurei go before being a good student? It would be simply boring just to go straight to class. Oh! He remembered! An apple. Now .. where was that cafeteria again? He never visited it often, but it was somewhere around the main building.

The hallways were somewhat empty, but there were a few stares here and there from new and old students as Yurei passed by. He didn't care, even though it did last all the way until he reached the cafeteria, especially since his shoes did make a lot of sound when stepping on marble. Apples. That had been his goal. It was a long journey having to go all the way from home to here on a carriage with nothing to drink but water. The young boy deserved an apple. "Now .. let's see ..." Yurei grabbed a tray and walked over by the empty line, passing by all the other proteins, carbs, etc. before he stumbled upon the fruits. Apples ... Apples ... Ah! Here we go! He grabbed the reddest, ripest one and placed it on the tray. Wait .. why did he need a tray? Yurei soon ditched the flat metal before walking over to one of the tables by the window. Peace and Quiet ... There were a few whispers here and there .. but at least nobody was loud. Time to dig in.

                                                                Fateful Fears

This was the first time she had ever been on her own. Packed in a small bag was everything Seraphine had to her name; clothes; books; some snacks; a small pillow; and a photo of her family. Her siblings had tried to give her more to take, but she had to travel on foot. It was a long journey, but she was able to find many kind people to give her rides and meals during her travel. The girl was very happy that she had only run into nice people along the way. All were also humans, thankfully. All of the people at her destination seemed to also be humans.

Standing in front of the gate, Seraphine stared out at the public before her. It was surprising that all she could see was others just like her. Her older siblings had mentioned that there would be a diversity in races where she would attend Perditian Academy with, but she saw none. This brought an excited smile to her lips. Seraphine exhaled loudly in relief. Thank goodness, she thought as she stared out to them. Since leaving, she had been dreading the future of meeting any Vampires and their like. Her family had a history of violence with them and the girl naturally grew a great fear and hatred. It would be difficult to be kind to a type of being who was born evil. Seraphine decided, before she left her home, to avoid any Vampires until she was strong enough to kill them. Despite never seeing one before, she knew that she would instantly know by instinct who one would be. It was in her blood to know.

Seraphine walked in to her new school bright eyed and excited. She took in the new sight and smell of her new home. It was beautiful. She never imaged it to be so large and grand. Kneeling down, she touched the marble. It was cold and smooth against her fingers. Her body was hot from all her walking. She wanted to lay on it. Standing back up, she was on a mission. Another time would come to lay out in the middle of a walkway. Being handed a paper by admissions, she saw that her dorm room number was posted on it, as well as her classes. She set out to find it, so that she may rest before having to head to her Homeroom.

It felt like hours. Seraphine drug her feet all over the building. She was lost. The paper once neat was crumpled in aggravation. She had given herself a great tour of the Academy except for where the dorm rooms were. The ringing of the bells made her panic. Seraphine was already late! She started running. The girl, tired from her journey and her legs a little shaky and sore, tripped. Into a wall. She almost started crying until she saw that she had ran into a map. "Thank the heavens!" Seraphine cried out with no care to who was around to hear. Without thinking about repercussions, she pulled the map off of the wall. The once running girl was running again, but now with a large framed map in hand. She headed to her dorm.

User Image "How long has it been?" were her first provoked thoughts since she's really been here, unanswered. There were many students that were coming on this first day, she herself included on an early time. Many students exploring and asking questions, some doing as they wished, and she would do the same. All she had to her name was the clothes on her back, her knowledge, leather pack, and her butterfly swords sheathed against her hips. She came here to make herself a name, at least do something worthwhile and more credible than the things she has done in the past.

★She has done some good recognizable things, and some terrible ones that she has attempted to cover up. There were no real regrets in the end, she couldn't take it back. She was here now, accepted, and had a lot to learn. What she wanted to learn she figured she could find at the library, or experiment on her own in the long run. Something had side tracked her though. There were few that tried to talk with her, but they did not distract her nor stuck around for long. The harsh winter whipped at her flesh, but it couldn't break through her leather wear completely. What had caused her to stop in her tracks was the sight of a boy, one whom she hadn't seen in so long.

★He was off in the distance with some other people, seeming to be in a discussion. She wasn't too far, but unnoticeable to them. She could only stop and stare for the moments until he vanished into one of the main buildings. She contemplated following him, but with held herself with a downward gaze to the ice below her boots. Facts were facts, she'd move on from here and off towards the library to get an idea of what such a place was like. Each foot step felt a little heavier than the next until she made her way to what seemed like an endless supply of paper. Concerns melted away and the feeling of an exploration mission and a bit of dread seeped into her.

★ She was here, she wandered into the middle and simply got a look at the place. She's never been in an official library before, and never into such a place as 'fancy' as this. "Now what?" to what she wanted to read, even if signs were out to guide her in the right direction the titles upon the cover of the books seemed to complex in itself. She wasn't sure if it was really the right book just from the cover alone. She'd walk a little more to wander through a few books, picking out one with a particular large title "The Persecution and Assassination of Jean-Paul Marat as Performed by the Inmates of the Asylum of Charenton Under the Direction of the Marquis de Sade", that caused her to put it back immediately. "Hmm.." the first noise that really came out of her today.

User Image ❉ Another day and a new year at this Academy. In the many years she's been here it was a surprise to her some days when she woke up and didn't feel the need to leave to see something a little more new. Maybe she liked the familiarity that was easy to rule and be happy in, she couldn't conclude that she was afraid of the world beyond. She spent her break with her father out in the plains near a large desert not far from the Great Woods. There was discussion of new resources that could be obtained, though some barbaric tribes were making things difficult. War wasn't really necessary, just a bit of a system that needed to be worked out.

❉ Cixil was there to observe and assist as needed, as well as be prepared for the possible worst. Her words weren't ignored regardless if it was her specialty or not, every idea was important in the end to hear even if it wasn't a good one. It was a nice break no less, though she didn't care much for the heat, and she was glad to be back home in her dorm. She was prepared and a little curious to what fresh faces would appear this year, something a little more exciting, though last years batch wasn't bad either.

❉ Another day, she had dressed herself in a usual elegant attire of robes with a daring color of red. With her hair pulled back and tied into a clean bun, bangs gently covering her forehead and highlighting her eyes as she liked she felt ready for the day. She practiced a smile before the mirror before grabbing her satchel and heading out to the Cafeteria. She'd eat a usual favorite of a berry salad, joining her usual morning group before the start of classes. She payed some mind to the new faces, glances here and there, but no words spoken.

❉ She joined with another Valkyrie, two Elves and a Human at one of the tables while she ate. It usually remained simple conversation and discussion, the two elves wishing to know the details of her vacation and her parents more overall. Once she finished eating she'd cease most of her conversation with a book in her hand, enjoying the morning flow though her ears weren't ignoring the whispers they were hearing of that particular Vampire.

"Oh Sweetie Mickie ~" That was the first thing that Micah heard when she visited the Blackwells(her family) in the Great Woods. Her mother had been referring to her when she entered those doors. It was only natural for her family members to call her Mickie, even though it had been one of the only names her family had called her. Otherwise, the rest of her brothers and sisters called her the black sheep as a joke.

"Please?" The fairy had asked. She had been embarrassed enough by her siblings. Even though she was the black sheep, she was lucky enough that her family accepted her despite their differences in magic.

"Of course not, you're leaving, and we won't see you for a while." Micah only rolled her eyes as her father took a good look at her. He didn't say a word. Men. She thought as a grin formed on her face.

"You survived this last year, so you'll survive this, this year." She spoke as her wings began to unfold and appear. The fairy waved a slight goodbye to her birth givers with a smile. The rest of her family had been out and about, wherever they were, they were wishing her luck as well.

Micah had only recently recalled the memory. It had already been a day's time since she left The Great Woods and leaving it only left an empty hole in her heart. Oddly enough, she always left the woods whenever she had the chance to along with her fairy class. This time, it just felt as though she was leaving for good, despite the fact that she had done this her first year attending the academy. The fairy only laughed to herself as her hands circled around in her satchel for any kind of snack to munch on for a short while as she was flying towards the gates of the Academy. After several seconds, she pulled out a handful of organic berries. One by one, she placed a berry in her mouth, savoring the flavor as she missed home.

As Micah placed one last berry in her mouth, her wings began to fold as she gracefully landed as the front gates. This would be the second year that Micah would be returning to the academy. Coming back to the school only meant more studying and less sleep. But the outcome of it all would be worth her struggle.

"The first stop, to the kitchen!" She exclaimed to herself as she shuffled through the school campus. Micah saw familiar faces and some new faces at the school. She would have been kind enough to introduce herself, however the berries for her, came first. They needed to stay fresh so that later on if she ever got hungry during class, she would eat them.

After several turning of corners she stepped foot within the kitchen. The first person she had spotted was a dark haired male, devouring the head chef's famous pancakes. At one point of the year, she had heard a rumor of a student known as the legendary "Pancake King" who feverishly devoured pancakes with his might. If that were truly the Pancake Man, Micah hadn't expected him, the so called "Pancake King" to be looking like that.

Whatever so the reason, Micah gestured a slight 'hello' to both the male and the chef before unfolding her wings. She felt her body lifting off the ground and used her arms to reach the top shelf, the place where she kept most her hidden stash of berries. After a matter of seconds of struggling to open the jar, she placed her berries in and set it in another secret space, barely visible to those who couldn't fly or those who were short. Micah then found herself folding her wings once again and landing silently onto the kitchen tiles before scanning the cooking area.

" talk talk talk talk "

The halls were buzzing with the voices of all the new students this year. Many races coming together to share one common interest: Magic. All these young hopefuls striving to perfect their skills in the Arcane. Ryul had been a student since he was Seventeen, so today wasn't that special for him. However, new students were always exciting. Most of the veteran students of the Academy had gone home to their families during the break. Ry.... His family was his books, and his studies. He spent the break traveling, enjoying the sights of far-off lands, studying the locales. It wasn't the most glamorous break, however, it suited him much better than a raging party.

Ryul, having skipped homeroom for the simple fact that he already knew everything about his schedule and whatnot, decided to take a small stroll around the campus. It wasn't very long before his stomach started to murgle and gurgle. Now, Ry wasn't a heavy eater, but even he needed fair nourishment. He made his way over to the Cafeteria, where there was a fair amount of people enjoying a morning snack, or a breakfast of sorts. There were quite a few foods to sample around the campus, though Ryul had a certain craving for pancakes. The sweet taste and gooey texture was to die for. The tall Elf waded his way into the kitchen, where he saw the Demon boy, Ursus. Ry shot a friendly nod towards the male before walking right up to the chef. "Excuse me, if it's not too troublesome, do you think I could have a plate of your world-famous pancakes that Ursus loves so much?" Ryul took a seat as the Chef agreed. The Elf sat across from the Demon, and awaited his food patiently.

XXXThe icy early morning air in Perditus was not the best way to wake up, especially for someone who lived in a desert for most of her life, but Pomona could say she was getting reaquainted with the feeling again. It's been a week since she left her tribe to be locked within the walls of the academy to learn more about magic, and she was already falling into her normal routine: sleep; study; eat; and raid the kitchens. She would miss the comforting voices of the Mothers and Fathers, and the adoring attention of the young sons and daughters, however she could deal. Though she wished she could have at least had one more change with her tribe instead of having it alone in a few days.

Not wanting to mope on her bed all day, the Were reluctantly detached herself from her makeshift nest of blankets and pillows and got ready for the day. Even though she wasn't going to leave her room right at this moment, Pomona didn't want to tempt herself with the idea of going back to sleep. Needing something to do, Pomona made her way to her desk and plucked the anatomy text off of it. She placed the spine of the book in her mouth, and then proceeded to scale the up the wall and perch on the high window ledge. Once she was sure she wasn't going to fall, she removed the poor book from her jaw and placed it on her lap. Before Pomona could begin to read, she absent mindedly dug through a decent sized crack in the wall and pulled out a bag of fruit. She pulled out an apple to munch on while she opened the book to read.

۞ Ursus' feasting was eased up upon the entry of a small, tan, fairy girl. Who looked around the room as if hiding something. Ursus slowly got back to his pancakes and zoned the young fairy girl out. He hadn't had these delicious delights for a couple months, and nothing was going to get in his way. The pancakes he'd been craving were finally all his. That is, until, a familiar face waltzed into the kitchen. Ursus could tell by the way he walked in here. The elf wanted the pancakes with spiced syrup.

۞ The Elf did as expected. You never walk into the kitchen without a specific request, and first years aren't likely to convince the chef anyways. This Elf had been here as long as Ursus had, only The Elf was certainly older. What was his name again? It was crammed somewhere in his mind. . . Ryul Cam-something. Didn't matter too much, it'd be easy to play off not remember anyways. Ursus always either had his face in pancakes, or in a book. Unlike some younger first-year males who tried to get their faces into skirts. After Ryul sat across from Ursus however, Ursus felt the need to at least make some minor form of chat. He swiftly cleaned off his plate, and wiped his face to be clean again.

۞ " Ryul, if I'm correct? " Ursus questioned, sliding his finished plate into the sink for washing. The sound of plates and eating utensils sliding together in the water shortly afterwards. Ursus looked around the room swiftly, without moving his head around much. Spotting the fairy girl scanning the room. Ursus slipped out one of his Arcane books again, the book being on the basics of healing magic. The Chef chuckled to himself watching the two upperclassman, swiftly serving up another batch of his finest pancakes for the Elf. The Pancakes were finally served, in a nice fair portion. The chef obviously tried not to overdue it. Every student had their own appetite, and the chef likely remembered Ryul wouldn't want a portion the size of Ursus' tower.

Upon sitting down, Ryul was prepared for a sweet silence. Though, that wasn't the case. The Demon Ursus had addressed the Elf. Ryul had only spoken to Ursus maybe... once before? It was wonderful that the Demon was able to remember Ry's name. "Indeed. Ryul Camus. I believe we've spoken once before, but this is the first time we've been properly introduced. Good to meet you, Ursus." Ryul nodded, not bothering to offer a hand to shake. Not right now, at least. It wasn't long before Ryul's delectable plate of pancakes was hot and on the table. Delicious, with the Chef's special Spiced Syrup. Not too big of a portion, either. Ry cut and ate smaller pieces, being sure not to eat too fast, or too slow. The Elf stayed silent until the plate was empty, only housing excess syrup. Ry took a moment to clean off his face before shooting a gaze to the fairy girl who was also in the kitchen. He didn't know her. He then turned his focus back on Ursus.

Ryul quickly noted that the boy was now reading a familiar book... One he'd already read, perhaps? He took a slight glance to the cover and cracked a weak smile. "Ahh, that book, hm? I read it last year. It had some good points about the basic healing elements." Again, Ry ended up putting his opinion in where it needn't be. Was Ursus well into the ways of Healing Magic...? Well, probably not, since he was reading a beginner book. "So... Are you training in the ways of Healing, or just browsing the various Magics available?"

While Ryul took his time to eat the pancakes, Ursus skimmed through the book, looking for any notable places to begin. Normally with books that teach the Arcane Arts, they start off by explaining what is first required to learn the selected Magic. After the Elf had said something about reading it before, Ursus sighed and shut the book on the basics of healing. Skimming through had taught him nothing, the book was the very basics, something Ursus had picked up on while observing other magics in the school for years. Three fourths of the damned book was about anatomy, a subject Ursus had learned while studying the basics of Strength magic.

" Yes, while I wanted to read it, it seems I've wasted my time. " Ursus stated, sliding the book into one of the many interior pockets of his robes. " The book focuses more upon the anatomy of all races rather than the magic itself. I was stupid to not believe that's what this book was going to be about in the first place. The entire point of learning this magic, is to be able to amplify the power of my strength magic by aiming for specific parts of the body that can't be healed easily. Not to mention I need a way to heal my own injuries in any sort of battle, even if I try to avoid most of them. " Ursus slothfully stood up and rubbed his head, as he began shuffling around awkwardly for something else hidden in his robes. He soon pulled out another book on advanced healing magic and looked at Ryul once more.

" Anyways, I'm off to the library. It won't take me very much time to get through this book, and I'll need another book before bed tonight. I didn't believe I was going to need to acquire more than two books to begin with. Maybe I'll see you around Cam. . . Camm. . . " He stuttered clumsily. Ursus always seemed to forget last names. Something he needed to work on if he wanted to become grand master. " I apologize, Ryul. Anyways, I'm off. " He made his way to the exit, and left an odd jar of unique spices from his travels for the chef. Ursus slowly made his way down to the library, where he began vigorously searching every nook and cranny for the expert level books on the Healing magic arts. Sadly, he'd never been good with organization.

Yurei sat in the cafeteria as more students slowly flooded in to grab a snack as well, only slowing eating his apple, and keeping eyes on the window rather than on other students. The young vampire was halfway done ... but really ... He was trying to be careful since his (really cute light-pink) lip-stick would get smeared, and oh dear, no one ever wanted that; especially not him. With more people making their way to see him, whispers only began to grow louder and louder in the cafeteria (and that meant more rumors were spreading!). Yurei could soon hear his name without even trying .. and oh God .. it was starting to get irritating. He could hear whispers of old about his cross-dressing, mixed in with whispers of new about the lady sitting by the window. What was worse is that they seemed to gather around him, as in, they began to sit in tables around him to get a closer look at his face... and as much as Yurei loved attention, he had a few things to worry about before becoming the center of it. Did last year really have a big impact? Maybe coming to class almost half-naked had been a bad idea after all. "At least I'm almost finished with it .." Yurei thought to himself as he dispatched blue eyes away from the window to stare at other people, "I'll get going afterward .."

Now, he began to quicken his pace, although he knew, that to others, it appeared slow motion due to their daydreaming .. or something like that. It happens in the movies with actresses. But, eventually, Yurei was done, leaving the carcass of an apple laying still on the table while he pull out a handkerchief to wipe his mouth almost instinctively. The young vampire also used a mirror to check the damages on his lipstick. Ah .. It wasn't too bad. He still looked as presentable as ever. Next time, he shouldn't be so careless when he begins to eat quickly though. "Time to get out." he mumbled to himself as he looked around, stuffing the items he pulled out back into his pocket, "I should throw this away too ..." As strange as it is, Yurei developed the habit of always talking to himself back when he first began cross-dressing. Besides looking in the mirror, there was just no other way to practice his falsetto. (Besides, whenever he used to practice trying to talk during dinner that way, his family was always disgusted. If Yurei sounded a bit lower than usual today, it's probably because of his lack of speaking back at home during vacation).

So, Yurei stood from his table after swiping the apple carcass to go throw it away. At first, as always, he dusted his skirt and stepped out carefully ... just before dusting his shoulders as if there was something that had made their way there too. These were all just instinctive habits for someone like him. But, eventually, he began to walk out, ignoring the stares and the gaping sounds that the people around him made. Ugh. This would be the last time he visited the cafeteria. Is this the place new people always went to? He wouldn't need to go to Homeroom if that had been the case. Just make a few appearances there whenever he needed attention. Now ... where would Yurei go? After throwing the remains of the apple into the trash, all he did was smile at a certain people (including a Valk, he noticed) before walking out through the open double-doors. Would he wander the halls? Or, would he stick himself on the roof and just laze the first day away. Naw, he knew better. Maybe in the classes, there would be pop quizzes for anyone who did Summer Homework or things like that. There may also be a "how much do you know" test in which teacher use the data for where to actually begin. Maybe this time, they would start talking about stuff that Yurei didn't know.

It may have been empty before, but now the hallway seemed to be filled with what Yurei called "map-faces", new people who just stuffed their head into papers since they didn't know where to go. Hey, about paper .. that reminded Yurei of his schedule, which was still stuffed in one of his dress-pockets. He would look at it later .. there would be no need to look at it now anyway. All he needed to do was follow the second-years. In the hallways, Yurei had continued to wander around, and for some reason, not minding his surroundings before he was soon whacked with a head full of yellow, knocking the unaware being to the ground. Ugh .. it was one of those map-faces again ... might as well apologize. But first, he had to rub his head .. God, was this person hard-headed or what?

Out of Chains : This was a quick post before I go ..

Aster Quietler

════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════

User Image ★ She had a small strategy in mind, first she went to find the librarian at the large desk not too far from the entrance. She approached her without a greeting and asked "Where are books that have Rune information? I require old and detailed information" she asked. The elderly woman gave her a raised eyebrow and looked her over.

"Strange child, who are you? I remember everyone and everything, you are new. You should start with the basic texts that this school provide, they are plentiful."
"My name is Aster."
"Aster?"
"Yes."
"What is your family name?" she asked in a more irritated voice.
"Quietler."
"Well Ms.Quietler, there are many books upon Rune Magic in that direction, not too far from the basic texts that many fresh students will be eager to take. I'd suggest grabbing some while they are still here, try not to make a mess."

The librarian would turn to see a familiar face enter into what she felt strongly as her library "Welcome back, Mr.Animus." easily fond of those that read. By the time she turned back to face Aster the girl was already off without a whisper of a goodbye or gratitude.

★Aster was searching through various sections, finding some titles of Rune Magic and even some books she had read in the past that her mother and father gave to her. Some titles were becoming vague again and Aster's annoyance was rising. She'd begin to simply grab every book down the row at this point, making two stacks in each hand. She had many more books than any average person could possibly carry, twice her own height balanced in each hand. Most of them of Rune Magic though some books would of been to no interest since she started to just pick and nick every book from the shelves.

★She walked with awkward, slow, heavy foot steps as she was trying to carry them with care. Once she found a large enough table for her to sit at she immediately dropped all the books onto the table at once leaving a loud thud that lasted a mere second throughout the hall of books. She had many books, more than one could read in a week. She held no concern for the mess or noise she had made and would sit down to pick up the first book, opening it up to the prologue that seemed to summarize the explanation of this one simple paragraph. She could get the first few words "This experiment was used to test and observe...." it started to fade into her thoughts

A fracture mechanics approach was used to investigate the high strength of the average individual. Room-temperature flexural strengths, fracture energies, and elastic moduli were determined for material fabricated from α- and β- stances using clensing powders. When the proper powder preparation technique was used, α-stance resulted in a high fracture energy (69,000 ergs/cm2), a high flexural strength (95,000 psi), and an elongated (fiberlike) grain morphology, whereas β-phase stance produced a low fracture energy (16,000 ergs/cm2), a relatively low strength (55,000 psi), and an equiaxed grain morphology. It was hypothesized that the high strength of the test subject from α-stance results from its high fracture energy, which is attributed to the elongated grains. High-strength has directional properties caused, in part, by the elongated structure, which is oriented preferentially with respect to the technique of stance and crafted powder.

★It was a little discouraging to say the least, her eyes were skimming over the words again and again to make sense of it. She eventually sat it aside in the pile of books and gave out a sigh, willing to try again she'd reach for a different book. "I should of listened to mother a little more when I was younger..." admitting to herself that her mother was right, in some way, but she's done fine up until this point. She felt a lot of these written books were attempting to sound pretentious, rather than informative.

Early in the morning, Dawn Shibuya, the well know half fairy of her home town, was preparing to go to the Perditian Academy. She had always wondered what it was like in there, especially for all of the half-breeds. She gathered today's outfit and bathed herself before putting on a small amount of mascara on her lashes. She styled her hair and quickly got dressed. "Dawn~! It's time to get up!" Her mother called, walking in to see her little girl getting ready to leave her already. Dawn smiled at her mother and nodded as she packed some of the tools necessary to make her own puppets in her bag. "Alright. I'll be down in a minute." Mrs. Shibuya returned to the lower level of their home to prepare breakfast for the whole family. Dawn looked over to the other side of the room and noticed her twin sister, Noelle Shibuya, was still sleeping. Dawn jumped over to her bed and grinned. "Wake up already sleepy head!" Noelle groaned and turned over. Dawn knew she would be up eventually, so she went back to finish packing.

The sisters both went downstairs together, talking about they slept and how hungry they were. The family ate breakfast together and conversed about Dawn leaving to go study at the academy. It lasted about fifteen minutes, then everybody cleaned up and washed the dishes. Dawn grabbed her bag and slung it over her shoulder. "I'm going to get going now." She gave everyone a hug and opened the door. Her father stopped her, and handed her a small handmade puppet the whole family helped in making. She giggled and sat it on her shoulder, keeping it upright by giving it life with her magic. She loved the monochromatic design and it's clothes. It was adorable and creepy, but she loved things like that. "Thank you guys. I love her." Dawn said her goodbyes and finally departed, ready to start a new life with new people.

Standing in front of the academy, she took a deep breath and entered the gate and then the building. She looked at her schedule and at the map on the back. The doll walked down her arm and sat in her hand. It kicked it's feet back and forth as Dawn walked to where she figured the dorms would be. She only needed to look at the map once to figure out which way to get to her destination because of her good memory. Finding her dorm, she opened it and placed her bag beside her bed. She set the doll down on one of the shelves, returning it back to its former self. She kept her schedule in her pocket and decided to look around. She eventually found two people on the floor, one rubbing their head as if they hit it hard on something. She approached the two and tilted her head slightly. "Are you guys okay?"

As Micah continued to scan the cooking area, she could hear the conversations between the Pancake Man and another silver haired male whom she did not recognize. Apparently the two were familiar with one another while she, had only heard of one of them. From the corner of her eye, she could see the silver haired male had some distinct traits which were Elven. Something about him seemed fishy towards her, but she had decided to shrug off the feeling. After a matter of minutes, it seemed as though the conversation between the two hadn't lasted long as it concluded with the Pancake Man exiting the kitchen, apparently to go on and study about. Micah only raised an eyebrow before departing herself. After all, the female had other things to do before going to the welcoming ceremony.

"Thanks for keeping my berries safe Sir!" She saluted to the head chef before exiting the kitchen area. Once Micah set foot outside, she immediately headed towards the dormitories. Not only did she have to unpack her items and supplies, she needed a rest from her traveling.

After a matter of minutes from traveling, Micah found herself going in a circle. She had stopped in the hallway, near the doors of the cafeteria. Perhaps she needed to refresh her memory of where the dormitory was located, then again, she was probably driven by the smell of the food. The dormitory was located further away from the cafeteria, and since she was already within the boundary of food, she had instead found herself munching on the Academy's breakfast.

Even though Micah preferred eating some of her own cooked meals, nothing should have gone wrong with prepared meals beforehand. Once she received breakfast, she walked towards a table with five other students and in the process of moving, she soon found herself falling forward, tripping over nothing.

"I can't afford to care"
User Image ❉ It was just about time to leave, indicating by what light was peering through the window. Placing her book into her satchel she'd began to pack her throw aways with a few others following her lead. She figured she could read up on some further readings, her latest studies have been into understanding Hexes. She didn't perform the magic herself, most of the magic she did study she didn't really use.

❉ The other Valkryie spoke towards Cixil, "Look at such petite-ness fumble our way." indicating a girl walking towards their table, possibly wanting it just after they were prepared to move. By the looks of it she seemed almost a little lost, the way her golden eyes seemed a little distant "What a cute Farie." she muttered, a few of her fingers reaching to her lips with a gentle, amused smile following. With a mis-step, a lack of balance possibly she could see the girl being taken over by gravity itself.

❉ Cixil would reach out, standing up much taller and stretching far to have her hand catch the girl by the front of her chest. In comparison to their size it was pretty easy to catch her, but with the multitude of food she was carrying it wasn't as easy. She got about two dishes in the other hand and the rest fumbled to the floor. "Ah, what a shame." she said, her voice holding more strength now than it did earlier in her whispers, having it carry. She looked back towards Micah and smiled softly, reaching her hand down to place the food that she saved onto the floor with ease.

"I suppose it couldn't all be saved, but the most important portion was." a minor, flirtatious compliment as she stood up more straight and reached her hand now free hand out to place it onto Micah's shoulder to help her balance a little better "Intriguing event, Farie, that could of been a bad morning. You should watch out for those dust bunnies." she held her disposition, despite any ill jokes, looking upon Micah with kindness as she would any other, though looking down at her literally there was a bit of fondness added due to Micah's small size. Cixil would remove her hands from the girl once she seemed balanced.
