Bastian smiled as he sat with Humphrey and now Aaron joined him. It was good to see the gang coming together again; it’s times like these that make you glad for what you do have. Sad to admit but it was true. Life was such a delicate thing. Bastian then looked over at Humphrey when Aaron placed out the food that he horded in his room. Humphrey couldn’t help but to grab himself a pumpkin pasty.
“Thanks Aaron. It’s really nice of you and good morning.” He said with a gleam to his peridot eyes. The Ravenclaw beater bit into the pastry and then smiled to himself. Food felt good in his stomach despite the loss of his potions teacher. Humphrey looked over at Bastian who set his unearthly lavender eyes on Aaron. The head duelist was more than tired with how his night ended up. It was so difficult to feel not tired; maybe he should bug Aurora or Asterion about getting an Ambitidatious potion for him to keep himself awake. How the hell was he supposed to have a wizards duel for the title with all that has happened to him. He was going over in his head all of the spells that he had learned.
“Bonjour Aaron and no thank you. I’m not all that hungry.” He said with a small mannered smile. The part veela wizard ran his hand over his long blond hair as he thought about the duel that he would have with the bane of his existence. He noticed that the fireworks were now dying away as the fizzing noises calmed down some. Humphrey looked over at Lucrezia and then said
“No, no mind at all please by all means.” He said after finishing his last bite of the pumpkin pasty. Bastian looked over at the head girl and shrugged. His mind was somewhere else as he thought about Nina and Cambria. Holding the scorched fir wand in his hand he thought to himself about the murderer of Kincaid. Seeing Lucrezia out of the corner of his eyes as he broke his long perplexing thoughts; he raised an elegant white hand and waved to get the head girl’s attention.
“Tiens! Lucrezia! Over here!” Biting his pale lower lip he cursed in french under his breath; too many eagles here.
Finally after Xurnev escorted a wave out; leaving their friend group in the common room Bastian stood and then motioned Lucrezia over more and Humphrey waved as well. Finally Bastian’s attention had been drawn to her cousin; Victorie Weasley, he smiled warmly towards her despite all that has happened. It was good to see her still here. Some eagles left but his family was made of something tougher. It made him proud and his smile grew. His eyes then turned to his best friend and he walked to Bhaemen and embraced his best friend from before they even attended Hogwarts. It felt like the embrace meant more than actual words to describe all that he was feeling that moment. Humphrey looked over at Bastian and smiled slightly. If Bastian and Bhaemen ever went to Beauxbatons like they should have; then he knew that he would have bonded with them from the very beginning. Still life was always strange and things happen for a reason. After Bastian released his friend he looked at him rather curiously as if he just registered in his head what his cousin had gone through. She seemed fine and her dorm room was on fire? “His slender brows raised slightly as his lips pursed.
“Then you are her hero then. I don’t think Xurnev would try to do that again now that it has certainly woken the troops. I’m more than happy that you helped her mon cher.” He smiled. Now that everyone was there he looked out at them and then Humphrey stood and stretched his arms. Humphrey was getting more than fidgety now with his worry about Laurie and Bastian could tell. Walking over to the Ravenclaw beater he rested his hand on his friend’s shoulder and then said
“She’ll be okay. Stop worrying Humphrey.” Gripping his friend’s shoulder; Humphrey nodded as he felt some of the pressure building up inside him slowly deflated a bit.
