David smiled as she apologized for her daydreaming. He watched her leaving the room, but she had stopped. “Yes Maria?” David said. He folded his hands upon his desk, waiting for her to speak. As she did, David wasn’t very pleased with what she had told him. So she was the one who had broken all the vases, and she will take punishment for it. “Well.. Maria your pun..sh.” His words discontinued as she ran out of the room. He shook his head at this, feeling horrible with even thinking of a punishment for such a fragile girl. But, she needed to learn a lesson. What lesson would that be though? David pondered looking at the door, Maria had exited. “Sam!” He called out for the butler. He was also curious to why; Sam had taken all this blame, he also felt guilty for putting him through many punishments. “Sam!” David called out once more.

As he was putting in the last load of laundry into the dryer he heard his master calling for him. He quickly turned the dryer on and headed directly up to his master's chambers. He stood promptly at the door and bowed his head. "You called Young Master? I was just finishing your wash. Is there something you need?" He looked at his master, wondering what it was he needed.

He waited for Sam to stand straight. “Yes Sam, I have.” David said softy. “Thank for washing my clothes.” He sat silently for a few minutes, thinking of what to say. Maria’s confession and abruptly leaving his bedroom without hearing her punishment. “Sam…” David whispered. “Why did you take blame?” He asked looking down at his hands, and then to the butler who stood promptly at the door. His face was straight, without a smile or a frown, his eyes gentle. Why did he cover for her? Why take blame? He thought with question.

He listened carefully to his master's words. He turned silently around and closed the doors behind him so only his master could hear his words. He walked over to his master and stood before him as he spoke softly. "I took blame because Maria is a very young girl. A girl her age is going to make mistakes and as clumsy as she is more than average. Plus she is under my rule and as her superior it is my duty to take blame for her mistakes. I will admit that it does get tiresome to not let her learn from her own mistakes, but I guess i'm just too gentle of a man." He gave his master a confused look before asking him a question. "Did...did she confess to you Young Master?"

His lips parted to speak again, but closed. David waited for Sam to close the door. His eyes looked up meeting with the butler’s. “That very well may be, but she still has to take some sort of punishment for this.” He said, as he straightened the notebooks on his desk. His eyes met with Sam’s once more. “Yes, she had confessed to every vase that was broken.” He answered standing up, walking around the desk next to the butler looking up at him. “Please, don’t take blame for her again …instead bring her to me.” David said standing on his toes, tightening Sam’s tie. “Okay?” He said gently smiling at him. “Don’t take blame ever… for no one, but yourself.” David whispered, taking a seat upon the desktop. He wrapped arms around Sam’s waist, burying his face into the butler’s chest closing his eyes. David did this time to time, feeling lonely without his parents there to support him or to love him. This was comforting to him. It may seem odd to someone else, but this was just how things were. David sometimes, became nervous or frightened of himself with the way he addressed things.
Everyone has a weak side.

He listened to his master's words closely. He stared down at his master with a soft smile as the young man adjusted his tie for him. He stepped forward as the young master's hands wrapped around his waist and pulled him close. He placed a soft hand on the top of his master's head and petted his hair gently. "I know how much you hate being so lonely Young Master, but I shall always be here by your side, no matter what." He removed his hand from the master's head and placed it under his chin. He lifted his master's head to face him, then leaned over and kissed his forehead.

David breathed in and out calmly, as his hair was petted gently. His eyes opened as Sam spoke. David smiled at these words. This man was loyal to his master. His eyes stared at the butler’s face, as chin was lifted. He closed his eyes, when his forehead had been kisses, David smiled. “Thank you Sam.” He said softly.

She felt so bad for running out on her master. She needed to just suck it up and face the music. She took a few deep sighs, then wiped the tears out of her eyes. "Poor Mr. Yamimoto. I really do need to start taking the blame for my own actions. I better go apologize to Master David and take the punishments coming my way..."

She walked back to the house and closed the door behind her. She took a few more deep breaths as she made her way towards the stairs. She was so nervous and scared about what might happen to her, but she did need to face her own problems. She made her way up the stairs and quietly down the hall. She noticed that the master's door was shut. "Maybe he fell asleep again.." She said quietly to herself. She walked up to the door, took one last deep breath, then knocked on the door while opening it slowly. "Master David. I'm truly sorry for running out on you earlier. It was wrong of me to do so, so I have come back to receive my..." Her sentence fell short as the door opened completely. Her eyes widened as she saw both of her superior's hugging each other...as if...as if they were in love. "M..m..m..m...Master David? Mr. Yamimoto?" She was so confused at what she was seeing.

His smile disappeared as he heard the door open behind him. He turned around and saw Maria standing there is shock. He turned fully around to face the young maid. "Maria, this is not what it looks like. I have been serving the Young Master ever since he was born. I'm very close with him. What you are seeing though does need to stay between just us. If a single word gets out about this to any of the other staff or those outside this house hold, you will be punished beyond your imagination." He walked over behind her and closed the doors so no one else could hear a thing. He then remained in front of the doors so she could not leave.

David looked passed Sam seeing Maria at the door. “Maria..” He released his arms from the butler’s waist. His eyes closed listening to Sam as he spoke to her, about certain personal facts, about himself. He slid off the desk, as Sam closed the bedroom door, behind Maria. David walked slowly towards, which had seemed only matter of seconds. He rested his head upon Maria’s bosom. “Please respect this, Miss Maria.” David said only having to look up slightly, since she was shorter than Sam. He took a step back, places his fingers delicately underneath her chin, gripping it tightly. “Do you understand?” He asked Maria loosening his grip, giving her cheek a soft pat. David stared at her blankly, waiting for her answer.

She watched and listened closely as Sam walked around her. Her heart began to beat faster as she heard the door behind her close, she was now trapped in this room. Her attention immediately turned to her master as he began to speak to her as well. Her cheeks flushed a little bit of red as he touched her. She nodded her head as soon as she heard his question. "Yes Master David. I understand." She spoke softly. Her body shook a little in slight fear of what was going to happen to her. She knew a huge punishment was coming her way. Her dark green eyes stayed on her master, she didn't dare blink or move.

David smiled nodding at her response. He was glad, she understood. But, he had to be sure, she fully understood. His fingers traced Maria’s neck, as they wrapped around it. He squeezed it lightly, as he pushed her into Sam. David looked directly into her eyes, his smile had faded. “Do you understand? Truly…?” He question, as his fingers tightened. Perhaps this was a little far, but David felt he had to. “Sam, please escort Maria to a cell down inside the dungeon.” He requested. “It will only be the rest of this day, she’ll be locked inside.” He felt that this was a good enough punishment for the vases. “This is your punishment for the vases.” David said releasing his grip on her neck, and taking a few steps back turning away. He faced the window, taking a deep breath calming himself.

He watched intently as his master choked Maria back into him. Once he heard his order he quickly grabbed Maria by the wrist and bowed his head. "As you wish Young Master." He didn't allow Maria to even answer before he opened the door and dragged her out into the hallway. "Come now Maria, don't make me have to drag you all the way down."

-Maria- Her body froze from her master's hand gripping tightly around her neck, as soon as she heard her punishment her eyes began to tear up again. She knew that what she had done was wrong, but the dungeon seemed a bit harsh for a few broken vases. As she was dragged out into the hallway she fought back against Sam. She was scared out of her mind to be locked up in the basement of all places. Just before they reached the staircase she threw herself down to the floor and laid there crying.

"I'm not dealing with this Maria. I have orders I have to follow and you have a consequence that you need to follow." He bent down and picked the crying girl up off the floor and tossed her up onto his shoulder. He carried her all the way down into the dark dungeon. He lit a single candle hanging on the wall. He grabbed a set of keys hanging on a hook and unlocked one of the cell's. He then gently set Maria down inside and walked out, closing the cell door behind him.

-Maria- "NOOOOOOO." She screamed as she was enclosed in the metal cell. "Please Mr. Yamimoto. Don't leave me down here." She begged and pleaded.

"We all have to take responsibilities for our own actions Maria. You chose to take your's later than you should have. It is only for a night, be thankful for that. I've spent weeks in these before with little food." He locked the door and started to walk away. Just before he left the room he blew out the candle, leaving the girl in the pitch blackness. He headed back upstairs to report to his master. As he reached the door he stopped and looked at his master with a emotionless face. "The deed is done Young Master. She is locked away for the night. Is she to go without food for the rest of the evening or do you wish me to take her some bread and water?"

David listened silently as Sam took Maria away to the dungeon. As they were down there, he had pushed every notebook, pen, and papers off the desk. When he had finished this subtle fit of his, David sat down on the floor, in front of it. “Perhaps, putting her down there was a bit harsh.” He said to himself, “And perhaps… choking her was a bit too far.” David chuckled subtly, but shook it away before its volume grew. He looked to the door hearing footsteps walking towards the door. His eyes looked Sam over once, and he listened pleased with the butler’s words. “Thank you Sam, take water and bread to her later.” David responded to him with a faint smile.

He walked over to the young master and picked him up off the floor. He carried him over to the bed and stood in front of him with his hands on his master's shoulders. "Do not feel bad for this Young Master. She needs to learn what can come to her if she does not watch herself while she is cleaning. What you did was right." He placed his hand once more under his master's chin, but this time he didn't place a kiss on his forehead, this time he bent down and kissed his master fully on the lips. He gave a soft smile as he broke the kiss and stood straight up again. "What would you like for dinner this evening Young Master?"
