• It has been ninety-seven years after a nuclear war devastated the surface and wiped out almost all life on Earth. The only known humans who survived are residents of twelve space stations that were in Earth's orbit prior to the war. The space stations banded together to form a single massive flotilla called "The Ark". Each station previously represented the nations of the UK, USA, Australia, Canada, China, Japan, India, Russia, Venezuela, France, Brazil, and Uganda.
  
  The Ark has an established democratic government known as "The Council" in which there are twelve nations delegates and the elected head of council, the Chancellor. They alone make the decisions that effect the lives of roughly two thousand four hundred people on the station. Resources are scarce and are rationed due to the growing population. All crimes, regardless of their nature or severity, are punished by flotation. A form of execution were a person is put into an airlock chamber and exposed to space, which resulted in death from lack of air and negative pressure. Adult criminals were subjected to this, however juvenile offenders were imprisoned until eighteen and were either freed or executed when they came of age.
  
  Three generations have survived in space. With the Ark's strict measures including: capital punishment and resource rationing; the leaders of the Ark take steps to ensure the survival of the human race. Only resources are running out and the Ark is slowly dying. For the first time in nearly a century, talk of returning to Earth has started to look like a possible option. After the Ark's life-support systems are found to be critically failing a hundred juvenile prisoners were declared "expendable" and were sent to the surface in an attempt to determine if Earth was habitable again. A project put together by council as both a means of lessening the load on the system and testing the survivability of the planet, it was called "the 100".

  Follow the gaia tos and rules & guidelines. Don't do anything stupid that could get you or anyone around you into trouble. Don't come here and cause problems either. I won't tolerate drama of any sort. Be kind and polite to others, if you have any negative opinions keep it to yourself or leave. Any misconduct by anyone will result in you getting the boot and or possibly just shutting this whole thing down. Also please read everything before you ask questions; it might be answered here, and I rather not have to repeat myself.
  
  　romance, violence & swearing.
  In regards of romance, swearing and violence; all will be present. In the event of raunchy naked thrusting, time skip, no dirty smut allowed. Don't abuse the use of swearing and violence. Do not kill each other off without permission. Yes people will be dropping like flies, but nobody gets to just axe people on a whim. If you're the type of person who can't enable the use of vulgar language, just dip. I don't want to worry about people reporting others cause they're indirectly offended by something someone says.
  
  　literacy.
  This is a lazy lit. roleplay so I only expect a minimum of three paragraphs. The writing narrative will be in first person as well. This is only meant to be a casual rp so I'm not going to be a jerk about posting frequency. However that doesn't mean you can just sit and loaft for a decade. If you haven't posted anything within five days and no notice in advanced, consider yourself dropped. Pay attention to grammar, punctuation and spelling. Interact with other characters, don't be bias and always focus on one person. The content in posting layouts should not distract the readers. It should not be all over the place and have too many unnecessary features. Font should be size 11, because it's perfect and legible.
  
  　faceclaims.
  You may use either celebrities or high fashion models. I will allow the use of idols, but only a select few. I reserve the right to reject face claims I don't like for any reason. Also keep the 12 nations in mind when deciding on your character ethnic background. All members of the 100 are between the ages of sixteen to eighteen, so please pick appropriate face claims.
  
  　characters.
  There are three factions within the 100; the privileged, the noxious and the frail. Each have a post dedicated to them with info on what they represent. Depending on their crimes and who they are will determine which group they belong to. Everyone has to have committed a crime in order to get sent to earth, unless stated otherwise. I would like a variety of characters whether its ethnicity or personality. I would rather not have character's who parallel too much. I don't want everyone to have it in for the chancellor cause he "floated" their parents either okay. You are allowed to double, however the ratio must be 1:1 (1 girl 1 boy). If you want to double up as to male characters may, but because female positions aren't much of a problem to fill you cannot double as two females.
  
  　applying.
  There is a short application form located in the ooc if your interested. It only requires the basic information. You must fill it out completely to get consideration. Samples are also required. As for the profile, it is located in the spoiler below the app form. You are given 72 hours to finish it, if you need more time please let me know as soon as possible. If I receive no notice, you will be dropped. Only once your profile is finished can you begin to plot with other roleplayers.

  Just as the title says these offenders grew up 'privileged'. Many have parents of status, possibly the child of a member of council or have other relations to status. They have either ended up in prison for standing up for what they believed in or were nothing but trouble from the get go. They're treated harshly by council as they do not want them to look 'favored' withing the prison. The others aren't the most fond of them just because of who their family is.

• 　the noxious.
  Those under this title have committed crimes that range from vulgar to unforgivable. A select few have actually been imprisoned for murder. This group has the worst success rate when it comes to being rehabilitated and returned to the community. A lot of them have deep rooted anger issues and others are possibly straight up sociopaths.   This particular faction represents the offenders of petty crimes. It's never anything serious, but had been punished as all crimes were to be. Many feel they do not belong due to their crimes being so insignificant, that is shouldn't had been justified for punishments at all.   　the ark.
  The Ark is the orbital home for the humans whose ancestors escaped the nuclear apocalypse on Earth ninety-seven years ago. The original survivors numbered at 400, spread across the space stations of thirteen nations. Of those thirteen stations, one was lost to conflict before the remaining twelve joined forces. There are divisions/branch of the Ark that specialize in different aspects.

  Their population grew to 2658, stretching life support to it's breaking point. Due to the resource scarcity, all food, medical supplies and etc were rationed. However, life-support on the Ark was failing, and even the best repair estimates had the work taking longer than the system could keep the population alive. Sending the 100 down to earth could possibly be their best shot at survival.

  It is a US military base, and underground bunker designed in the Blue Ridge Mountains, in the eastern United States of America. The Chancellor informs the 100 through video about it. He explains it was a military camp in the past, and that it is stocked with supplies good for 300 people for 2 years. He says they should find the supplies immediately. Mount Weather was the intended dropping point for the 100, only they ended up landing on the opposite side.
  
  　ground tribes.
  These tribes consist of humans that survived the nuclear apocalypse ninety-seven years ago. The survivors were lucky enough to have genetics that kept them from death and mutations. DNA from their offspring evolved and adapted making them immune to the radiation that still lingers on Earth. The 100 still know little about them, but know their human and call them "Grounders". *update as we go
  
  　the mist.
  The mist is a acidic poisonous gas. It acts like regular fog but occurs like a tornado rainstorm and sweeps areas at a quick speed. When in contact, short exposure will make skin slightly burn and coughing. With longer exposure one will go blind, covered in third degree burns, paralysis and eventual death. The cause and source of this event are still unknown. What is known is that Grounds blow a horn to warn of this dangerous mist.
  
  　mutations.
  Mutations are living organisms found on Earth that have been modified or disfigured by nuclear radiation. Some mutations of nature the group will come across are; two headed deer, luminous butterflies, river snakes, luminous plants and fruits, even humans.
  
  　the reapers.
  They are also descendants of humans who survived the nuclear apocalypses. However they are nothing like the Ground Tribes. Even Grounders know they are dangerous. They live within the mines in the mountains. *update as we go
