- Second day back at Ilvermorny, and Hunter was already in the hospital wing. She wasn't actually injured, but she had been nice enough to escort the third year student in question. Her younger twin sisters, new pukwudgies and thunderbirds respectively, had followed her and were staring with fascination at the boy, who was busy fighting a rather nasty Bat-Hogey Hex. "You b***h!" he was snarling as she shoved him none too gently towards the nearest cot.
Hunter didn't say anything and was not the least bit sorry, considering that she was castor of the curse. She had a very low tolerance for people that thought it was ok to hurt and degrade another person based solely on their heritage. The fact that it had happened to her little sisters, whom she was supposed to look out for, was entirely inexcusable. She had taken one look at the scene and reacted. She wasn't entirely heartless though and had grabbed the boy by the elbow to give him the help he needed. Never mind that she perfectly capable performing the counter curse herself.
"When my father hears about this...!" Oh great, daddy's boy. No doubt he was probably from a purist full-maj family that would be quite pleased by their sons actions. On the other hand, they would also be horrified to know that a no-maj born had gotten the better of the boy.
And she was more than happy to let him know that. "Yes, please, tell your father why little-old-me felt it was necessary to hex the boy bothering my little sisters." she said drily, leveling him a cool glare. The boy scowled but said nothing, which let her know exactly how right she was. Her sisters giggled quietly to themselves.
She wasn't about to stick around and get scolded by the nurse so she turned heal and the Matthews sister's left the hospital wing. "Hunter?" Dillon said. "Austen and I are going to explore the castle." she said, with a nod towards her twin. Hunter was not surprised that they didn't want their older sister around anymore than when they had been sorted into the same house. The girls had always been on the more independent side and were getting to the age where it was not 'cool' to hang out with their big sister.
There wasn't much she could say to that (in their place, she probably would have done the same thing) so she smiled, hugged them, and watched them run off. It was for the better; as much as she would have liked to show her siblings their new home away from home, she had places to be. Like the first official United Front meeting.
It was probably inevitable that she would end up joining the group. Her dislike of people...underestimating weaker students had given her a bit of a reputation. To say that she had a dislike of full-maj students (which a rumor or two had stated) was wrong. What she disliked was full-maj students who thought they were better than other students simply for the fact that they came from a long line of witches and wizards. Hunter had a strong held belief that you judged someone solely on their actions and skills, not by who their parents were. After all, she was a no-maj born and she considered herself a quite excellent witch and damn good quidditch player.
She had still had some time to kill before the meeting, but she headed down the Ilvershire all the same and wandered into Wonka's Emporium. Before she had arrived at Ilvermorny, she would have never believed it if somebody had told her that Willy Wonka was a wizard. Knowing now, it explained a lot about the everlasting gobstopper.
She perused the shop, examining the various magical treats that lined the shop's shelves. She had, of course, brought a stash of her favorite no-maj treats and snacks from home (Hawaii sometimes seemed like different country as opposed to another state) but she had to admit that wizard snacks were a lot more fun and interesting. As long as you avoiding things like exploding gum (though it was kinda funny when somebody else was chewing it). Her study snack stash was low and she was going to need a mix of both maj and no-maj snacks to help get her through the year. With that in mind, she focused on her shopping and picking out her favorite candies and treats.
