History:
He is called the The Angel of Hell.
He was once responsible for punishing the souls that were sent to the Third Heaven, but has since retired from these duties to settle down and live a comfortable and quiet life with Serevhan, the Demon of Heaven. Hushed stories say that he stepped down from his duties when he supposedly malfunctioned and broke down. But, his purpose seems predetermined; he cannot disobey the cry of a soul who seeks to be tortured before redemption. If the will to be punished is too strong, he may relapse into his old, but "true" nature.

Personality:
Marik is properly described as something of a pushover.
He values harmony and peace, becoming stressed easily when confronted with conflict, whether it involves himself or not, and doing what he must in order to maintain stability around him. For this reason, he minimizes his contact with others unless he feels truly comfortable around them. He also values comfort. After a past life of obsequiousness and being controlled like a robot, he's made a hundred and eighty degree turn, almost to a point laziness or hedonism.

He does, however, have a complete opposite side to him -- that side of his personality that is what he is "destined" to be, and that is the Angel of Hell, Punishment, and Torture. When weighed down by too much stress or when confronted by a will that desires to be punished for their sins, it's possible for hints of this side of Marik to emerge, though he tries his hardest to repress it.

Marik knows little about modern culture and is ignorant of information others would consider common knowledge. Because of his, he often confused by simple gestures and phrases. Clear and straightforward communication is required in order to get this angel to understand anything.

Facts

- He is not overly fond of the company of demons or angels. In fact, he would would rather stay away from both in order to maintain as peaceful a life as possible -- meaning without the need to hear the events across realms. There are very few he can tolerate the company of, a few of these being: Serevhan, Elise and Ryuka.

- All of the blood could never quite be washed from his body, hence the black discolouration of his hair and wings

- When he served in the Third Heaven, he often stood for long periods of time in flesh and blood without moving or cleaning. Much of his armor has fused to his body and cannot be removed. The last time he tried to rid himself of it, he caught a glimpse of his own beating heart.

- Marik doesn't need to eat or drink in order to survive, nevertheless, if one were to put food in front of him, he would feel inclined to eat it.

- The exhaustion Marik feels from his past is eternal, and sometimes, he may sleep for days on end if he feels particularly stressed. The longest time he has remained asleep was just short of a week.

In Combat

Marik's power doesn't come as much from his own will as much as it does from the command of others. On his own, he would prefer not to fight at all. When he submits to his nature to obey, he sheds his emotions and can be considered "brainwashed" though it may be against his desires.

- Physical Capabilities -
An eternity of servitude has fused his body and some of his armor together. Though malleable and fleshy to the touch, his skin is not easily pierced.

His wings are not made of feathers; they are made from material similar to silica nanofibers -- lightweight and soft to the touch, yet more than ten times stronger than steel and capable of slicing many substances clean in half. He uses his wings to shield himself and they are actually his main choice of weapon in battle if not his whip. The tips and edges of each "feather" are permanently discoloured from the amount of blood they have drawn.

- Magical Capabilities -
Marik does not possess any magical abilities.
