Rewatching a DevPro replay, an idea for after DUEA and NECH crossed my mind that may get me back into play Rituals...

Spirit Ritual Control.

Herald of Perfection(pre-NECH)/Glorious Light: Massive wall with 2800/3000 DEF. Discard Fairies to tell my opponent "NO, NO, NO."
Dragon Princess Saphira: Main beater of the group w/ 2500 ATK, Can recover LIGHT monsters, ditch opponent's hand, or draw extra cards each turn.

Nikitama: LIGHT Fairy Spirit, draws a card if ditched while I control a Fairy.
Izanami: WATER Fairy Spirit, can trade cards in hand for fallen Spirits.
Rasetsu: FIRE Fairy Spirit, can bounce opponent's monsters off the field.
Yaksha: WATER Fairy Spirit, can bounce opponent's S/T off the field.


Example play: Draw Izanami w/ 2 Nikitamas in hand to start. Saphira and Herald were on the field already. I summon Izanami, discarding a Nikitama to recover a fallen Rasetsu, triggering Nikitama's effect. Nikitama draws a Manju. Opting to hold off that turn, I proceed to End Phase. I resolve Saphira first, using the "draw 2 and discard 1" effect to dump the other Nikitama, drawing again, before finally returning Izanami to hand.

At the start of that turn I had 3 cards in hand; Izanami and 2 Nikitama. I now have 5: Izanami, Rasetsu, Manju, and 2 other cards, netting hand advantage and up to 2 more Herald negations, with 2 Nikitama in GY ready to be recovered by Saphira at a later time.


This idea seems like one with enough merit to explore further in my mind.
