Oh no, it doesn't have to cost you gold. I did spend a little gold at first because I wanted to jump start my way into the game, but I haven't spent any since and I won't now that I know how it works. I'll "boost" your post every time I come to this thread, so you'll always have a couple of boosts to spend at least. And if you post around this forum, you get a boost to spend every time you post 5 times. So slower that way (of course) but at least no Gaia cash is directly involved!
