Below is the original feedback. However, this is more of an observation right now, this new feedback, and something that should be taken to heart.
You who were on the "Let's do the Great American Smokeout anyway without explaining what's going on" team (that's the only reasonable assumption for what happened), you should be thankful for holding onto your post, should you still have them. In this economic period, especially the days before and the Christmas Shopping Season, any harbor in the storm will have to do in order to get by. The fact that you managed to get jobs at a place you love working at is a blessing in and of itself.
But in the same breath, with unemployment going up and spending trying to go down, companies will do anything they must to try and save money, even cutting the work force. If you weren't fired for being involved in this communication fiasco and for right-out disregarding the "order" of the board of directors not to go forward with the project, you have something to be VERY thankful for right now.
The issue is still with internal communication, but i'm viewing it right now as "We're not going to tell them that we did this." It's like being on your last day of work, shutting off the security camera and vandalizing the inventory warehouse. Leaves a bad mark on you.
While i'd like to know whose necks to wring, i'd rather leave them to their own shame in reading the following statement: You're better than this.
Pay cuts, suspensions or firings - whatever happens, you deserve it for insubordination. You refused to say what was going on. You don't deserve any mercy.
But any mercy you get, you better be gracious for getting any. This was despicable, unprofessional and downright insulting to us, the consumer.
Happy Thanksgiving. Be thankful you can keep your job if you did, but thanks to you, Gaia won't see a damn cent from me until next year. i'm not padding the paychecks of incompetent developers, artists and administrators.
If you can't sack them, do me this favor.
Give them my vast estate of BOOT TO THE HEAD.
RE: The "tobacco ban" and the fact that your employees tried to shove their opinion on us!!!!!
Fin et al., i'm glad you're going to do damage control, but a major dose of explanation is required in order for us to at least get a better sense that you can TRY to not think of your user base as a bunch of idiots ...
i put in money for this Animal Quackers RIG and got a useful item or two out of it - but if you lot can't control your staff, WHAT'S THE POINT of helping hold up this site??? If you can't get these guys to get authorization first for something so drastic, there's something wrong in your office that needs to be addressed. What that particular issue is, i don't know, seeing as i am not an employee. But moving forward with an action without authorization from superiors, is that not a sign of disrespect?
And if not a boot, krazy-glue some gold stars to their face or something. That or those barf stickers. Make them feel SPECIAL for something so stupid.
