The Problem:

Items are being made terribly. They do not sit on our avatars correctly and can often throw the whole thing off.
This is not quality work here worth the price that is charged. This is laziness.

Immediate Examples:



This skirt is facing forward while our avatars are 3/4 view.



Thamnophis = "The side of the shirt almost covers the bellybutton! It's like my avi doesn't quite grasp how clothes work."

"The green line is the centre of the avatar base, the red line the centre gem and the purple line a side gem.
The red line and green lines should overlap."

The "Reason":

"It's faster this way." You can read why here.
Also, "they'll have less time to fix glitches."

Update: This was the old reason, I'm not sure now if this remains the same excuse or not since Juno has left.


Our demand/solution:

Stop with the awful angles for items.
We're not asking you to go back and re-do all the items that have bad perspectives (that's for a more radical demand and I don't see it happening), but instead in the future, don't let this happen any more.
Just stop it.
You got it right in the past, why can't you get it right it now?
Make the items actually worth the prices you charge.

I want Gaia to promise it'll stop this.

Also, be a bit more strict about releasing items. Have posters up in cubicles or something that say: "make sure your item is facing the right way on avatars!"
I mean really. You guys are better than this and your customers deserve better.

I agree with you. They have this problem with making eyes now too. So many great eyes ruined by shitty placement. That's why I just stick with these ones, they're perfect.

It's an over skirt. It layers over other long skirts - which we dont really have that many of...


@ OP: agreed that it could be "pulled around" a touch rather than making it look like we are twisting our bodies at the hip.

It's unbelievable that they're still not recognising this terribly basic perspective mistake. Gaia has seven years of pixel items behind it gonk

Quoting for emphasis. I realize most of the current artists have not been around seven years, but that should still be part of the initial, basic training.

... Or they just need to go with the giant print-out of the avatar bases with lines down the center (the avatar's actual, angled center) in every single artist's cube. Preferably with a nice catchy tag line under it in enormous letters to helpfully and politely remind everyone to check their damn perspective before releasing anything.
