For a long time the Sohma family has been cursed by the Chinese Zodiac, causing them all to change into the various animals that make up the so-called fable. Things were always rough for the Sohmas because of this, but things have gotten even worse in the present day.
Now, a new family curse has arisen to their attention; the Western Zodiac curse. It seemed like destiny that the two families should be rivals, and also a strange twist of fate that both attended the same elite boarding school. Both the Gods of their respective Zodiac family refuse to give up their school, as both families have attended the prestigeous Kingsridge Academy for many generations.
The Tokai family is only a few generations into the curse, and they believe that being so close to the cursed Sohmas has brought the Western Zodiac curse to their family. The Sohmas believe that the cursed Tokai's were meant to be conquered by them, and so the rivalry ensued. Fights broke out, and tight cliques formed. Even the other children started to take sides, though most didn't know about the curse. They only knew that the Sohmas and the Tokais were both very powerful families from powerful countries, and to befriend one would only better their future.
Additional Details: The Zodiacs will transform if hugged by the opposite gender, with the only exception of those who are cursed by the SAME family curse. Sohmas can transform Tokais and visa versa.
Update! The Western Zodiac Ophiuchus has been added! I almost forgot they just added this one, and it's highly controversial, so I will have this be the equivalent of the Cat in the Western Zodiacs. Obviously there is no sign directly opposed to Ophiuchus, so I have chosen Leo. This sign will transform into a large snake.

12/23/13- Officially opened the thread! Can't wait to see who joins us. :3
12/28/13- Added Ophiuchus to the Western Zodiacs to be their equivalent to the Cat. Can't wait to see how this goes! Already so much drama~
12/29/13- Filling up fast! Only 4 Chinese Zodiac spots left, and 8 Western Zodiacs left. Less than half! surprised
12/30/13- Added an "Opposites of All Kinds" section to the main page, so people will know who their natural born opposites are. Also, I found a Chinese vs Western Zodiac opposites chart, so we have more hatred!
1/8/14- Added "Current Crushes & Enemies" section, to keep track of all the loves and hates we have in the RP now. And only 9 slots left in the Zodiacs! Woot!!
1/27/14- Added Music class to the roster....finally. Feel silly for forgetting! Also- only 5 spots left, with only one of those for the Sohma family! So close to being full! So glad to have a wonderful cast of characters. :3

4/8/14- We are still gong strong, and now have our final RPing team list up to date! It's been such a long journey already, and only two days have elapsed... In over three months. Crazy!

⤷XXXXX Kannia had been curled up in bed through the rising of the sun as it peeked through her curtains onto the side of her bed, as the sun rose the light moved across the black sheets that were dusted with silver stars until it reached her pale face. She rolled over to avoid waking up but soon the alarm rang bringing the pink haired girl to the waking world. With a groan she rolled back over to the awaiting sunlight to turn off her alarm clock. Her pale pink eyes squinting to the sun as she sat up pushing the overly fluffy blanket off of her body. She slipped out of bed the large t-shirt she always wore to bed falling down to her mid thigh as she walked slowly across the room to the mirror reaching for her hair brush. "I really need to stop falling asleep with wet hair..." she muttered as she ripped the brush through the tangled locks that fell to center of her back.
⤷XXXXX It had taken the young goddess twenty minutes to get ready to face the world. In her hand was a red bull while her chococat messenger bag hung at her waist stepping out into the sunlight. "Why is it so hot today..." she muttered as she walked across the lawn just wandering around. As she took a drink of her red bull something caught her eye causing a smile to spread across her lips as she started to walk towards the male that laid in the grass. She leaned over the male her face over his as she blocked the sun from hitting his face, her hair falling around her own. She held her drink at her side, "If ya lay out in the sun you'll get sun burnt, Rui." she said with a hint of teasing in her voice.

The night had been rather rough on Zu; he was barely able to rest with the swarm of nightmares that filled his mind. Even in the dream world he fought the Astrologies; he could never rest comfortably when they were so near. Some were even scattered about in his own house... He was lucky they had their own locking rooms or this could have been a worse problem a long time ago.
As a ray of light finally fell down low enough to reach his face, his eyes opened fast as his skin was covered in a cold sweat. I'm going to make myself sick if I keep having these nights. Maybe the nurse will have something to knock me out better tonight.. Zu thought, as he rubbed his temples. Getting ready was like any other day; he mindlessly walked to the shower, then toweled off and put on his kimono, hair gently tousled to keep his curls from frizzing.
Stepping out of the Sun dorm, Zu's nostrils flared at the unmistakable stench of Lion. Even though the Dawn dorm was a few buildings away, he could tell the beast was over there, despite barely being able to see him laying on the ground. Zu found himself more disgusted by the other Zodiacs, possibly because he was the opposing God. He could smell something foul when they were close, though whether it was imagined because of intense hate or actually there was hard to tell. Either way, he was not heading in that direction right now; he was going to make the trudge to Coffeetime for some breakfast. Hopefully dining alone, though he highly doubted it.

Etini had already been up for hours, despite the sun just now filling her whole room. She had been typing away at her desk, with book reports scattered about in front of her. She took being a teacher very seriously, wanting to give all her students the most in depth feedback she could every time. She was also at her best in the morning, taking the quiet hours before the students rose to do some of her own writing as well.
But now she could hear the shuffle of feet above her head and knew that it was time to start putting away her things and be ready for any complaints that may arise. She was still getting used to the Housemaster responsibilities, but trying her best to keep peace in her house. However, she could just not get past one rather big obsticle; she was cursed by the Chinese Zodiac and some of her students and Moon house students were cursed by the Western Zodiac. She was always a little colder with them in class and at the dorm, even though she tried her best not to be. It seemed like instinct to shove them away.. and it drove her crazy. She hated that she hated them so much; all she wanted was peace between their families, but something in her very core refused to allow that to happen for her.
So was the daily struggle.
She examined herself in the mirror, fixing a few stray hairs from her face and giving her sidepack a reassuring pat. She had all the book reports graded now, and it was still a little while before her class started. She decided to make her way to Northstar, in the hopes that Bilal would be up with his horses and she could say a quick hello. She tried to visit Bilal at the farm every day now, as he still remained a very secret crush of hers that she just couldn't bring herself to admit. She just played it off as loving the farm atmosphere, which was partially true.
Arriving at the fence, she nimbly jumped over, holding her bag close so it wouldn't touch the barbed wire. Her cat-like dexterity came in handy for getting around, one of the perks of being cursed by the Tiger. She perked her ears for the sound of Bilal's voice as she quietly walked towards the barn between the grazing horses.
