The darkness under the trees felt cool to his skin, as the peace of the forest calmed his mind. He hadn’t meant to be outside the city for so long, but it wasn’t safe to hide inside the dirty human city, although it wasn’t that safe in the forest ether. But he need the serum soon, it was the only reason he had returned. Shadow had a slight problem though, he didn’t have enough money for the serum, he could sell the fosse that he found when exploring the mountain that stood tall and proud just past the forest, but would it get him enough for the serum.

The Absol Gijinka hesitated to move from the shadows of the trees, hating the idea of stepping foot into the city full of selfish humans, yet it was necessary. As quiet as a Pikachu Shadow left the safety of the forest and carefully made his way into the city. He strolled down the street like he belonged there, keeping his eyes moving for ally to ally, watching everyone. He would get his serum then go back to the mountain.

This was quickly pocketed or rather bagged into his satchel as he made his way through the room. He looked perfectly comfortable making his way around the home fingers tugging open drawers to sift through them before closing them and making his way farther along. He was stealing mostly due to the fact he didn't have an odd job lines up for the day, normally he went to three or four different places and helped them out, or simply listening into conversations. So today, was a thieving day. Scraps of paper where occasionally lifted eyes skimming it before moving on to search around the home. Information always did have a higher payout than the odd jobs after all.

Cutmy strings andbe free withme!Another small scraps of information taken and to be later written down before he made his way to a wall fingers pressed to it, the surface remaining solid for a moment before he seemed to move through it much like a fork moving through jello, the surface simply parting as he slipped through it. For a moment he simply seemed to rest most of his form in the room before he moved the rest of the way through and simply tumbled on the ground before standing up to dust himself off. Sound through brought his attention up as he shifted fingers hooked into a claw like form eyes staring before he seemed to relax at spotting another gijinka like himself. Well maybe not the same pokemon, but definitely a gijinka. Another shift as he grinned the small piece of metal by the corner of his mouth moving as he made his way over. "Why so sneaky?" He asked his fingers tugging on the hood over his head as an arm came to rest on his hip. The same question could be asked of the banette gijinka, seeing as he was in a dark alley, having just come out of a buildings wall, however he wasn't caring much.

                                                                    Cutmy strings andbe free withme!

So far so good, no one was bothering him, or even paying attention to him as he made his way down the street. But soon his quiet trip to town was going to be interrupted. He had come to alley ways and just peered down it, when a voice came out of now where. Shadow had to stop himself from jumping at the sudden intrusion on his peace. It turned out it was another gijinka who came out of the darkness for the alley, which made him relax a tad but not enough to let his guard down. “Could ask you the same thing”.

Black eyes took in the gijinka that spoke to him and noticed the tag hanging from his mouth and quickly came to the conclusion that he was a Banette gijinka, which if he remembered from all his test that made him a ghost type. “Was it necessary to startle me like that” he half snarled and half asked. He laid his hand on the black pouch that was resting on his hip. Making sure that he could feel the fossil that was inside it. If he lost that, then it would be even harder to get the serum that he need. He was already stretching his doses thin as it was. “What do you want?”

"Kinda comes with the territory." He chirped before a cackle fell from him. He couldn't help it, this gijinka was rather amusing. "No I didn't but doesn't mean I can't get a laugh." He spoke before shifting noting the other's movement his eyes staring for a moment before he all but skipped over. The boots on his feet currently almost threatened to fall off as he did this before he looped around Shadow once, then twice. "Well." A pause at the other's question before he snapped his fingers. His eyes narrowed a bit as the other laughed at him, he couldn’t help but feel a bit self-conscious. His social skills were lacking quite a bit, so he didn’t understand the reason to laugh at him if he hadn’t meant to startle him. He frowned as the other started to skip around him evading his personal space. “Information? That’s why you’re here” he said in disbelieve. What a strange gijinka this one was, then again h was a ghost type, and they were all strange.

Shadow tensed up the moment the ghost gijinka touched him. It brought back bad memoires of the room and the pain. A low growl rumbled low in his chest, the one warning that he was going to give the other to quite touching him. “It’s also a good place to hide something” he snarled out, the hairs on the back of his neck raising with his discomfort. The tip of two number started to show as his hair started to raise more, but the moment the other moved away from him, he began to calm down again “what do you think any Gijinka would be doing here” he said not liking all the questions that he was being asked “I need to get my dose of Serum” he finally answered

A yawn escaped this male's lips, as he rubbed his eyes with his left hand. He hadn't been getting very much sleep, lately. The towns just weren't the same, and the forest.. Don't even get him started. Everything changed, and it was for the worst. He had to hide his poke balls when entering a town, for fear of being killed. It was rather difficult for him to hide the creatures that brought so much joy to his life. On the other hand, his very first pokemon, wouldn't dare go inside a poke ball. It made things even harder for him to get around. Yet, no matter, he still was unseen, most of the time. He always had a pretty good plan for moving through the towns. Although, there had been some very close calls. His crimson eyes glanced over, as the yellow mouse shifted upon his right shoulder. He gave the pokemon a tired smile. Every town was just the same as the rest, so he thought. It used to be such a peaceful world, until.. Well, the darkness came, along with an organization came and destroyed it. Well, that's what he thought, anyway.

He moved down the road, knowing there was a small town just a couple miles from where he was. It wouldn't matter much to him. He would never sleep within towns. Not anymore. He knew his Pikachu wouldn't last a night without being seen. Or at least a couple hours. He couldn't leave his best friend out on the streets of a town. There was two reasons for that. The first reason was, Pikachu was his best friend. He'd never abandon his pokemon like that. Second reason was because if anyone ever saw Pikachu, they would know he belonged to a trainer. Pikachu looked normal. Not like the other pokemon.. Dimitri gave a small shake of his head, pushing the thoughts aside. The wild pokemon had even changed. People only captured them in secret, if they dared. It was dangerous roaming around in the forest, these days. The pokemon seemed to attack without cause. Even killed people and pokemon alike.

He'd sleep when he felt it was save enough. For himself, and for his pokemon. He may have only had four of them, but they were his friends. His pokemon meant more to him, then his own life. Reaching up with his right hand, he scratched Pikachu's side. "Pika, Pika. the yellow mouse said, moving towards his hand more. Dimitri let out a small chuckle, before letting out a small sigh. He could see the towns dim lights. A small sigh escaped his lips, as his hand dropped to his side. It was about that time, now. Once close enough, Pikachu would have to leave for a little while. At least until he got some supplies, and took his leave. Of course, he knew Pikachu stayed close to him, though. It was apart of their deal. Stay within ear shot, and some times a brief visual. Reaching up, he took the yellow mouse into his arms, hugging Pikachu close to his chest.

"You ready, buddy?" he asked, in a rather sad tone. He hated leaving Pikachu go out on his own. It always made him worry, always thinking the worst. He looked down, as he felt Pikachu lick his cheek. A small smile came to Dimitri's lips, as he stared at the yellow mouse. "Pika, Pika." the yellow mouse replied, looking a little irritated. Dimitri rolled his crimson eyes, allowing Pikachu to jump out of his arms, and onto the ground in front of him. A small sigh escaped his lips, as he gave a small nod of his head. Watching as Pikachu nodded back, before running off. Looking up at the sky, Dimitri suddenly felt very alone. He hated sending his best friend away. He gave a small shake of his head, before continuing down the road.

It wasn't very long before he stepped foot into the town. He could see very little people out on the streets. but he did take notice to some.. Gijinka. Well, that's what he assumed they were. He was too tired to really even notice. As he slowly made his way down the road in the town, His crimson gaze kept shifting around. Searching for some kind of hint that Pikachu was still with him. He really needed to find an odd job to do, as well. He was in need of money.

It had been too long. A few weeks, in fact, since Fletcher had his last "fix." This addiction wasn't like any other, but a necessity to his survival. He was brought into this world with his body craving the substance, though his mind felt only great disdain.

                              The serum.

Fletcher flung open the creaking, rust-hinged door of his apartment. There was a grey, bleakness to the atmosphere, like that of rain, though, there wasn't a drop in sight. He pushed himself onward into the streets, despite the painful and nagging fatigue weighing him down. He could feel himself slowly fall apart... it had been much too long, but it finally was time. Money had been scarce for the past few weeks and it wasn't until now that Fletcher could afford what his body craved - what his entire existence depended on. Fletcher kept his head down as he squeezed through hordes of people that littered the sidewalks.

                              Humans. Everywhere.
They were looking at him. He could feel it. Their judgmental eyes licked over him. Mocking him.

The gijinka looked up from pensive glare. Nobody really appeared to be paying any attention to him, though this didn't stop him from feeling any less paranoid about it. He knew how the humans felt about his kind, and that was enough to set Fletcher into a bitter mood. Just ahead was the only shop in this slum that sold it - the serum. Nearing the shop's door, the nintales gijinka suddenly fell into a coughing fit. A warm, iron-scented liquid began to seep from his nose and the corners of his mouth. He quickly threw open the door and shoved himself inside, staggering feebly as he made his first steps in.

The owner of the store stood behind the register, grinning snidely at the gijinka, "Fletcher. Long time, no see." His voice was almost taunting. Fletcher moved himself over to the counter, placing down two trembling hands to steady himself.

"My, my. Look at you. How long has it been since you've had one of these?" From underneath the counter, the shop keeper pulled out a vile of the serum. He waved it back and forth as Fletcher's eyes grudgingly followed.

"G-give it to m... me." Fletcher lifted himself up, steadying himself on only one hand.

The shop keeper sneered, "Do you have the money this time?"

With his free hand, Fletcher reached into his pocket, pulling out the $9,900. He slammed it onto the counter, continuing to lock his resentful gaze on the vile. The shop keeper kept the vile out of reach while he counted out the money. Looking up from the wad of cash, he smiled, then tossed the small vile at Fletcher. The vile bounced off the gijinka's hands, causing him to grab at it as it tumbled through the air. Finally catching it, Fletcher gripped it tightly. His hateful gaze was drawn back to the shop keeper as he laughed at him.

"By the way, you got a little somethin' - right there." The man behind the counter pointed to his own face, circling at his nose and mouth. Fletcher wiped his face with the back of his hand, then stared at the smear of blood on his skin.

                              "Need a tissue? That'll cost you extra~"

"Piss off." Fletcher turned and threw open the door, slinking back into the fetid streets.

His apartment wasn't all too far away, but he wasn't sure how much longer he could wait. His body felt frail and his head was beginning to swim. A wave of disorientation hit him and he staggered. He had to inject it now. He usually waited until he got home to inject the serum in private - it almost felt humiliating to do it in front of people. Fletcher glanced around before his eyes stopped at an alleyway. Through spinning vision, the gijinka made his way over to the alley, placing a hand on one of the surrounding walls to steady himself.

                              There were people here already...

He began coughing again, quickly covering his mouth to muffle the hacking sounds. His body heaved with each cough, spewing more and more blood each time. It was getting to the point where embarrassment was the least of his worries. Fletcher leaned against one of the walls and reaching into his pocket, wrapping his finger around the vile or serum. Unscrewing the vile revealed a long syringe to inject into his skin. Fletcher pulled back a sleeve, revealing a collection of faint bruises from previous injections. Now it was time to add another...

“Information may pay out, however it’s the damage that information can do that’s really paying out for you” he said starting to fully understand what this Gijinka did for a living. He wanted to judge, he really did however he too understood the hardship of this life that they were force to live. If obtaining information and selling it was his way of making money then who was he to say anything. Hell he searched for treasure in the mountain and forest to sell so that he could get the god awful serum. Life was hard but life in the labs were harder. “Nothing unusual about wanting to stay hidden, humans aren’t that friendly toward our kind” he replied as he crossed his arms over his chest, letting his claws catch the light just enough to show the other, how sharp they were. “Why do you think I’m hiding from someone, I may just be an overly cautious gijink who doesn’t want to get on the humans bad side, after all they are the ones who control whether or not we get the Serum” he stated.

He may be social awkward but that didn’t mean he was stupid, information like that was something that would never leave his lips. He couldn’t risk going back, getting caught would mean a life of torture for him. Stumbling steps and coughing took his attention away from the ghost gijink and fell upon a poor soul who was at his limit. His eyes flashed red as he saw the glimpse of the serum that the poor gijink was injecting into himself. “A day at most” he answered before he stepped passed the other and head over to the sickly gijink. He looked down at the sickly creature but didn’t say a word. In the dim light of the ally Shadow eyes glowed red again as he looked back at the ghost type “ the serum place is pass this ally right?”

Missy sighed softly as she started to bind up her fluffy tail once again. She tightly wrapped the long strip of cloth around her tail until it just looked like a stick sticking out of her behind. The Gijinka pulled her tail up against her back and wrapped the rest of the cloth around her waist so it would stay in place. Then, she tied her hair into pig tails, while trying to hide her ears within them.

It was time to get to work again, she hated the fact she had to wear such a short skirt. Luckily the top of her work uniform didn't show off her skin. Though it still was a bit tight on her. The girl slipped on her skirt and her top. She'd have to look herself over in the mirror once she got to work and adjust her outfit.

Missy enjoyed camping in the forest and traveling all the time, but there were downfalls, especially when she couldn't easily ready herself for work. Still, Missy managed to find a way around them. With a small sigh, The Eevee Gijinka grabbed her traveling bag, slipped out of her tent, and started to fold it up. Missy managed to find a rather portable tent that wouldn't take too much space in her bag.

Once everything was set, Missy threw her bag over her shoulder and scanned the area around her to make sure she hadn't forgotten anything. The Eevee's eyes fell on the empty Serum Syringe that she had just stuck into her behind. Oh how she hated that stuff, without it she would die a horrible death. She even hated the man who sold her the Serum, he always mocked her and gave her suggestive looks every time she bought from him. Today Missy had cleared out her bank just for the Serum that ruled her life. She was penniless. A low growl escaped her as she stepped down on the injection and creaking it. With her foot, she covered the broken pieces with dirt.

Missy turned around, making her way out of the forest and into the horrible Human City. This was the place she had to hide herself. Otherwise she wouldn't be able to get proper work to survive. These humans definitely discriminated against Gijinka. Her best bet was so pretend she was human. Hopefully she'd make enough tips today for breakfast tomorrow. She usually secretly snatched some food from the kitchen for dinner.

As the Gijinka walked along the streets, she scanned the area. There weren't too many people around, maybe she would be able to work in the kitchens today. Missy loved being friendly, but she wasn't exactly in the mood to deal with people today. She sighed softly the moment she reached the diner. The moment she entered, Missy made a beeline towards the bathroom. She quickly adjusted her waitress uniform and made sure that her tail and ears weren't noticeable. Once she was satisfied, the Eevee went to the back and clocked in.

A tiny yelp escaped her the moment she turned around. There stood her boss towering over her. "There aren't many people in the Diner today... Your job is to go out and hand out samples of our famous Spring Rolls. The tray of samples are in the kitchen, grab them and stand outside the entrance." her ordered. He glared down at her for a moment before turning and walking back to his office.

Missy grumbled under her breath as she grabbed the platter of samples and walked out to the entrance. The Gijinka really wasn't in the mood today. "Spring Rolls! Try "The Diner" 's famous spring rolls!" she announced happily as people walked by. Some humans took the samples and went in. Others just took the samples, while some simply ignored her.

As she continued with her work, The Eevee Gijinka noticed a boy walking by. "Hi... would you like to try one?" she offered the boy. Suddenly, she felt a tiny scratch against her leg. Confused, Missy looked down to see a little yellow Pikachu gazing up at her. Her smile grew into a genuine one. The little Pokémon looked so adorable. "Pika, Pikachu?" it voiced, looking from the platter of samples to Missy. The Gijinka laughed. "Aww... you're so cute!" she cooed. Grabbing a sample, Missy fed it to the Pokémon. The poor thing seemed to be really hungry, it gobbled it up in seconds. Missy giggled and scratched the Pokémon behind the ear while wondering why this Pokémon was wandering around town.

Having passed the group of Gijinka, that seemed to be growing, Dimitri let out a small sigh. He had entered a couple of shops, only buying very little supplies. He didn't have very much money, right now. The odd jobs, only came.. well.. when people needed help from a trainer. It make it rather difficult for him to make any money, these days. Plus, he couldn't stay in a town for very long, for far of someone noticing he was a pokemon trainer. As he left yet another stop. He gave a small shake of his head, sighing lightly. He traveled further down the road, passing a couple more shops, he decided it was best not to enter. He had grabbed what little food he could, knowing Pikachu was probably starving by now. At least, he was feeding his pokemon first, before himself. It was how it always went. Although, at times, Pikachu, along with his other pokemon wouldn't take the food. Thus, allowing Dimitri to eat.

As he walked slowly, he was looking around, also. He should have seen Pikachu by now. Was he caught..? Did he get.. The sound of a female pulled him from his thoughts, as he turned his head. He took a small step back, as he thought about it. She held some food, he guessed they were free samples. He hadn't taken the step back to offend her, he was just unsure on if he should take the sample or not, knowing he had to feed his Pokemon. It didn't feel right to him, to eat and not give any to his partners. Still, Dimitri gave her a kind smile, and was about to tell her no, when he heard it. "Pika, Pikachu?". Dimitri's gaze light up, as he watched his pokemon gobble up a free sample. The happiness within Dimitri's eyes was undeniable. Anyone could tell, Pikachu was his, just by the way he was staring at the yellow mouse.

"Pikachu.." He whispered out, watching as Pikachu looked over at him. "Pika! Pikachu!" With that, Pikachu bolted away from Missy, only to jump within Dimitri's arms. Pulling the yellow mouse close to his chest, he grinned like a child. After a moment, Pikachu slipped out of his arms, and climbed upon his shoulders, as usually. It was at that moment, Dimitri's crimson eyes went wide, as he took a look around. As if making sure no one had saw what had just happened. He had forgotten about where they were for a few minutes. A small sigh escaped his lips, as his gaze returned back to Missy. "Thank you.. for giving him a spring roll. I know he's been hungry lately, but getting by money seems to be a bit harder than i thought." He told her, as Pikachu rubbed his head against his cheek. No matter how hard it was to be serious, even when speaking about a serious topic; with Pikachu around, Dimitri just couldn't do it. A smile came to his lips, as he glanced over at his best friend.

It had been a long but lucrative night. Lumira had slept in as she was accustom to doing during the days, having finally waking when the sun had been well up for a long while. Several beams of light had flitted across the small one room apartment the Umbreon Gijinka had secured for herself. The rays of light trickled their way across the room and danced upon her face, causing a small groan of displeasure to escape. Lumira shifted beneath the sheets of the small bed before a crimson orb opened and quickly dilated as the light hit it. She hissed loudly as she clenched her eyes shut and wiggled her way under the sheets of the bed and stayed that way for a moment before crawling her way out of the lavender covers. The gijinka muttered incoherently under her breath as she shakily stepped out of the bed and ambled her way to the nearby window, sharply shutting the curtains in a gruff fashion.

Now how long had she been staying in this little slice of hell on earth now? Lumira couldn't quite remember the exact date but it had now been several years since she had arrived to this city. Going from one hell to another. But at least the ravenette could say this was her own choice. Though doing simple side-shows and the occasional random john doe for the night wasn't the most pleasant of experiences, it did pay for the bills. And most importantly it paid for her precious serum. That life-giving substance that all gijinka heavily relied upon.

The pale form of the lithe gijinka swayed slightly as she moved away from the window of her tiny apartment and into the connecting bathroom to get ready for the day. Catching a glimpse in the mirror a couple of bruises were visible on her almost pale white shoulder. A purplish bruise that looked like a thumb print. It wasn't strange to have a customer getting a little rough, nor was it strange that said customer would awaken hours after their encounter with less cash, valuables, and feeling physically ill. Rosy lips frowned at the bruise and scoffed at the messy image before her, soon turning to the little shower and starting the water. It refused to get warm. Again.

One cold shower later the nude gijinka slunk out of shower, grabbing a somewhat plush pink towel from the rack and snuggling wrapped around her form. Another smaller towel was grabbed and worked through her long raven locks and the two long black ears that protruded from her head. The ears of an Umbreon as there were golden bands upon these furry ears. Once she had dried off she dropped the towel onto the floor and moved through the cluttered apartment towards her ebony wardrobe.

The apartment was scarce of most furniture, containing a bed, wardrobe, and a couple of nightstands. And yet it was cluttered with clothing, bottles of perfumes, a pile of books, and a couple of lamps. Not to mention a locked jewelry box.

She dressed more simply than she would while working at night, a black-lace camisole and deep purple knee-length skirt with black trimmed lace. Lumira sat on the side of her bed and she slipped on black and gold ankle boots over her sheer black knee-high stockings. Before she left the apartment Lumira went over to the locked jewelry box and produced a small golden key, unlocking it and revealing a stash of various baubles and produced a simple pendant necklace of what appeared to be clear crystal quartz. She slipped it over her head, brushing her raven colored locks from beneath the golden chain and locking the jewelry box once more and slipping the key out of sight.

Lumira's stomach rumbled lightly as she grabbed a purple jacket from her wardrobe. There was nothing in the apartment for her to eat, let alone an actual kitchen or refrigerator. "Hrm..." she grumbled as she slipped the jacket on and was sure to grab her black clutch that contained some of her money. Before leaving the apartment she double checked the lock, knowing she wasn't in the best part of town, and left into the dimly lit hallway of the complex. It was shabby at best, but it was all she could really afford on her own.

Thick-lashed crimson orbs gazed over the side-walk as she left the complex, observing the passing faces. They all looked listless and gray to her. A soft sigh escaped past rosy colored lips as Lumira walked past a rarely seen fruit stand, snagging a delicious looking large red apple from the pile. She took her plundered fruit and rubbed it against her camisole to polish it a moment before sinking her teeth into the crisp red delicious, her mouth soon exploding with a taste of the sweetness. A small pleasured noise escaped the gijinka as the crimson eyes suddenly dilated and the apple was quickly devoured with a few more chomps. Only a few chews were taken and the stolen treat was swallowed, fingertips licked clean as she ambled along.

The core was discarded as she passed by a busy alleyway. Some coughing was heard and other whispers as her ears twitched lightly at the noise. The matching tail swished lightly, similar to that of a cat. "And what do we have here?" She coo'd out coyly as her crimson eyes spotted the lanky form of a young man and needle in hand. Either another gijinka or a junkie. Though spotting his unusually features made her believe he was a gijinka of some kind.

The Gijinka hadn’t noticed the boy stepping away from her; she had been distracted by the cute Pokémon. Missy blinked, a bit confused as the Pikachu ran off towards a human. Her eyes widened as the boy lovingly pulled the Pokémon towards him. The way the two interacted, the Gijinka had a feeling they had a great bond. She wished she had a bond like that with someone. Alas, due to her situation and physical condition, Missy gave up hope on that a long time ago. She suddenly realized something. A bond like that would take a long time to create. Was the Pikachu his Pokémon? Weren’t there rules against having Pokémon?

Missy had seen signs around the city that offered rewards for spotting Pokémon Trainers. If this guy truly was a trainer, he was definitely taking a huge risk showing up in town like this. The Gijinka had the urge to report this man, with the money they gave as a prize; she would have enough Serum to last 2 months. She forced herself to curb that urge. Missy wasn’t a bad person; she couldn’t survive with the guilt if she turned them in. Missy knew what happened to Trainers who were caught having Pokémon. The trainer and the Pokémon would be executed. Missy loved Pokémon; she didn’t want to be the cause of one dying.

There was one thing she had in common with these Pokémon trainers, the need to hide. Missy knew how hard it was to survive on the run. Especially with the alliance operating in full swing. Missy came to the conclusion to keep this man and his Pikachu safe. He seemed nice enough. As long as he didn’t know she was a Gijinka, she would probably be safe. Humans didn’t like Gijinka, he’d probably hate her if he found out. Like every other human. At least she didn’t run the risk of being caught by him. Missy already had a master who she was on the run from.

Her long thoughts were interrupted by the boy’s voice, ”Huh? Oh… your welcome!” she smiled as she snapped back to reality. ”Oh… I know what you mean…” she nodded in agreement. Missy knew all too well the struggles to make money. ”I make just enough to get food for myself each day…” she sighed as she murmured to herself.

The Eevee Gijinka shook off her depressing thoughts and put on her smiling face once again. No matter how many struggles she had, Missy hated showing sadness. So, she shoved it away and returned to her bubbly self again. The Gijinka quickly looked around to make sure her boss wasn’t watching her. ”Here…,” she whispered while pushing the rest of the samples into a napkin. ”Take these, for you and Pikachu. There are about ten samples left in there.” she handed him the wrapped samples. Then she leaned in close to him, ”Maybe you should put Pikachu in its poke ball… you do know what happens if you’re caught right?” she whispered, before stepping back. She really hadn't confirmed if he was a trainer or not, but there was no harm in warning him right?
