Story: Set after Persona 4, Persona Nightmare is set in the small town of Yukimachi, a fictional town most famous for its Snow Resort and is frequently visited by tourists. Despite this, the town is not very big and tends to be off the radar when the weather isn't very snowing. People go about their normal lives, ignoring anything uninteresting until Winter hits and the town becomes extremely packed with people. All seemed normal for the people of the town until a series of bizarre accidents occurred where people would fall into deep sleep like comas, and never awaken again. Although the incident is very recent, many are afraid of what will happen, unaware of the supernatural forces behind the scenes....

Unknown to the people living their lives, there exists a realm normally unreachable by human eyes. The Dream World, a metaphysical world that exists only in dreams. Those who arrive there do so when asleep and normally cannot interact with it. However in some rare cases, people can physically enter it through an unknown means. Shadows, the manifestation of nightmares, run rampant. Normally a thick fog covers the world but sometimes it parts to reveal more...

۞Rules۞

IMPORTANT TO KNOW:
Typical Gaia TOS, no God-Modding, Auto-hitting, Keep the story about PG-13. The story is aimed to be a bit dark but nothing too extreme, we want people to have fun after all.

When you submit a profile I'll discuss stuff with ya to help things go smoothly biggrin

Also please keep characters semi realistic. While the Persona series has many odd characters, most of them are within the realms of possibility, so no feudal era samurai's unless they are some kinda odd ball. You can have multiple characters if you can handle it!

Note on Persona's: We'll be using the in game mechanic style, so you have a HP gauge, SP, and each attack takes one of those unless its a physical attack. Shadows will be played by me or a select few people and only one attack per post. Also, your characters will level up as they go so message me for details on how you want to go about that!

No Canon's sadly. This is our story!

Send me the PM with the message "I hope your Beary Prepared!" to signify you read the rules.

The Major Arcana

There will be a limit on party members so as to not overcrowd it, but please don't feel bad! Social Links are important and your character can be important too!
Reserved/Taken Arcana's don't mean you can't have a character with the same arcana, though not all characters need to have a Persona.

Time!

Time flows through posts as you would expect. School will be skipped over from morning, to after class. The exception is for if class ends early, lunches to establish character moments, or what else can follow. We, the mods, will announce the jump to the next day in a post. We'll warn you days in advance should something be happening. Your free to post before that, just be ready for it. Holidays from Persona 3/4 will be kept. Some days might be focused on certain characters, but you can post as long as your character isn't, for example, magically appearing in the Dream World without permission. We will go over the order for that with you.

Yukimachi Locations:

These are the shops and various spots in the town!

Yukimachi Train Station: A small train station that is located on the outer side of town.

White Summit Traders: A Medium-sized warehouse made of brick with a tiled roof. Inside are an assortment of shelves, boxes, and various different goods. It is owned by an online trader and at any given time there are a number of strange and interesting items in the warehouse for sale both online and off. - 9am to 6pm (Business hours)

Alluvia Café: A cosplay cafe, designed to have a school-like ambiance. The chairs are cushioned, and the maids and butlers are polite and cheerful, though, the butlers are easily angered when a maid is harassed. The tables have white table clothes over them, as well as a vase of mildly sweet flowers on them. - Weekday: 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. Weekends: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Hyouden High School: The high school, the school is set up in a circle and contains a large cafeteria at the center. Multiple buildings inside the school are used for clubs and teachers.

Police Station: The police Station, located in the heart of town.

Hatsuyume Dorm Rooms: One of several dorms, the Hatsuyume Dorm is where our main characters stay for school. There are 6 floors with the 6th one being the roof. The main floor is the commons area. This is where residents can hang out with the flat screen television with some game systems, a dining room where food is ready for the residents, a locked meeting room for teacher conferences. The second floor is reserved for the boys. They each have a private room and a mini common area with vending machines that are stocked regularly. The third floor is reserved for the girls and is the same set up as the second floor. The third floor is for the study area with a mini library.

The Hospital: A boring old hospital located near the Police Station.

Shopping District(Manga Store, Coffee shop, Restaurants): Located a few blocks away from the school, the shopping district is a common hang out for students.

Dream World Locations:

These are the rp's dungeons!

Twisted Dorm: The starting area, it is simply the dorm but with a abnormally green tint to it. Here the group gathers when they area going to explore and its here that the party starts from.

House of Dead End
: A simple house with nothing unusual. The only thing abnormal about it is a very small and tight closest. It connects with Stages of Attachment.

Stages of Attachment: The dungeon is a stage show that is decorated with fish and mermaid puppets. The walls were decorated with a list of rules regarding what to do for the family and what a new family would expect. Strings hang down that will try and ensnare an arm or leg as a trap. Connects to House of Dead End

Distorted Mirrors: A maze of mirrors, in order to proceed, the people must break a mirror in the room, which leads on to other location, and finally, the stairs.

Halls of Blood- A reproduction of the apartment where Shoji used to live. On the first floor, everything is a sterile white. The remaining floors are the same except the walls, floor and even parts of the ceiling are splattered with crimson red and rust brown blood.

Storming Caverns: A cold desolate icy cave with snowstorms blowing through it. On this wind you can hear faint cries of someone. The storms get more intense as they get closer to his shadow.

The Shifting Sands: A vast desert located from the top of the School. A little ways off is a massive pyramid. Upon entering the pyramid you see the Shadow suspended in the air over the center of the chamber. Once a party of adventurers has entered stone slabs seal the exit and the shadow attacks in "self-defense".

                                tab tab Stepping off the train, the teenager took one last fleeting look back towards where she'd sat for the majority of her ride. Nothing there. Satisfied, she finally stepped off the train into the dim lighting of the station as a slight breeze blew by. For a moment, she was grateful she'd invested in warmer apparel for this trip. She had planned on being in town at least six hours ago, but having missed her train due to a delayed overlay about two flights before she arrived into the country sort of forced her on a rather late train. Her mother had contacted the school to tell them she'd be arriving at the dorms later than planned. However, she'd lost touch with her mother before she'd gotten on the train, so she had no idea what she'd be doing from here. Originally, the teenager had planned to do things the way her father always taught her. Talk to folks and learn the sights by experience. Now... well, that plan was somewhat blown out of the water with shops and sights likely being closed or closing at this hour.

                                tab tab A few stragglers were pulling out as she progressed further into the station. She was tempted to ask for directions, but found no one she felt comfortable enough addressing. At this point, if they weren't wearing a top hat, she wasn't sure how she'd feel about any of them. Instead of talking to anyone, she stood there, looking a little lost and lacking the courage to develop a better plan of attack in this foreign situation. It'd been the first time her mother hadn't gotten back in touch with her, and the first time in years she'd been traveling alone. Perhaps with more experience she'd have made a better choice.

Can I forgive them someday?

Ichiro Saruwatari
~The Moon Arcana~
~Location:Hospital~
Hp: 200
Sp: 100

To say he was bothered he had to play pickup was a understatement, Ichiro did not like having to go out and pick up people from the train station at all. He was always told to do it only because he was older then most of the other students and he apparently gave a "tough guy" look. Whatever the reasoning, he did not like being a personal bodyguard to the new kids and what not. If he had his way, he'd stay at the bottom of the stairs and read manga or something fun. Wearing his jacket, he sighed at how cold it was this late at night. Why didn't this girl arrive earlier? If she had then the cold weather wouldn't of bugged him one bit, but since it was late, it was freezing.

As he arrived at the train station, Ichiro stood waiting for the girl to arrive He was told she had blonde hair and would definitely look out of place, so kept that in mind. What was her name again? Thinking it over he had trouble remembering even as the train arrived and people stepped off. He was deep in thought as he tried to remember. Erie? Armin? He could not remember at all but he was sure it started with a E of all things. Then it clicked, Erin Aderes was her name! "Erin Aderes!" he shouted aloud, unaware that he was near the girl in question.

I want to know...

        She hadn’t even noticed that morning had broke, her back to the window, which was covered in black cloth to block out all communication through that one portal. She had her headphones in all night, listening to western pop music, alternating between Lady Gaga and 50 Cent. Her back was hunched, bending over a laptop all night long would make anyone wonder how she had been sitting there all night, legs crossed underneath a bean bag.

        She had been working all night, trying to pry into her personal file that was kept on the high school that would be her first day of attending, should she choose to accept. Lips were formed in a perfect frown that almost pouted as her fingers tapped away. She shook her head briefly to shake away a chunk of blue hair that had fallen out of place.

        There had to be somewhere that connected to the files on the school. It was all digital, she just had to find out how she could hack into the system on a closed circuit data system. The girl sighed, closing the window in which she was typing, looking at the time. 6:45. The girl winced, suddenly aware that she had stayed up past midnight.

        The girl gently placed her laptop down in front of her blue bean bag chair and stretched her back, leaning back. She made a strained noise, before sitting back and deciding to get up. No matter, she would just get some coffee. The girl closed the laptop, tucking it underneath the couch that was in her room.

        The girl turned to look at her bag for the day. There was an envelope that poked out. The acceptance letter. Mink Yu. Idiots couldn’t spell a Chinese name for s**t. Ming was Chinese for Name after all.

        Ming crept downstairs, careful not to disturb her parents. They didn’t dare approach the door that led to her room, with the anarchic symbols and posters that hung from it. Ming didn’t exactly consider herself an anarchist, just a hacktivist. It was for the benefit of the entire school that her file be deleted from the school records.

        The beautiful oak cupboards in the recently furnished kitchen contained no coffee. Ming almost dared to slam all of them shut, or unscrew them all for shits and giggles. Instead, she went to the fridge, checking for something that could substitute. Nothing of interest, except a bottle of sparkling water. Grapefruit. Ming unscrewed it, taking a sip before wincing. It wasn’t exactly Palm Bays, but it would do.

        Ming put the bottle back before running her fingers over the polished stone counters of the kitchen. It was all too good. This place was too serene. Ming hated it. She wanted the streets of New York, where the city was always awake, the neon glimmering in the distance. It was all alive. This place felt dead, asleep.

        Ming went back upstairs, getting ready for the day. It was 7 am by now, and if she made it out the door in time, she could go out and get an energy drink or something. Buy some coffee and stash it somewhere. Ming made a mental note to find some place where she could hide a mini fridge. Maybe in a box.

        She opened her makeup kit and pulled out some lipstick. The shade was not a nice pink colour, but rather a dark black. Her morning makeup routine was different than most gitls. She applied it to her lips, not caring if she would eat later. She could reapply later. Makeup first.

        Next was the eyeliner. Ming did her narrow Chinese eyes heavily to give her a gothic appearance. From a distance, you could only see black on her face, not the whites of her eyes. It made her look less ethnic, and she preferred it that way.

        She continued with the blackest of black eyeliner to finish off the job. She was satisfied. Ming walked out of her en suite bathroom to her mess of a bedroom. She picked up her clothes for the day, unsure if a uniform was necessary for Japanese schools. Only the rich Christian schools in the States had uniforms in their schools. Ming slid off her underwear, fetching a new pair and then sliding them on. Her ripped fishnet stockings were next. Perhaps a lack of uniform would get her kicked out on the first day. She put on her short black shirt and her jacket, making sure to show some cleavage. She had learned to take what little she had and work it.

        Ming went downstairs. There were supposed to be dorms in the school, but Ming’s parent’s wanted her to stay at home where they could watch her. Fine by her, dorm’s typically had no internet and she didn’t want to share her personal sanctum with anyone, nor would she be willing to create one in another space. Not like money was an issue, the folks had a nice house.

        To her disappointment, her parents were already awake. Of course, businesspeople were always up early. Ming endured the raised eyebrows at her outfit and moseyed on down to the fridge again to double check for anything good enough to satisfy her meatbody. She selected a bun, promising to eat it on the way or until it got bland. Ming went back upstairs to grab her bag and was about to go out when a voice asked her where she was going.

        ”I’m going to school.” Sarcasm really wasn’t necessary. Ming fished out her earbuds from her bag, connecting them to her phone. Her mother got up from the table and walked over to her. She had to shove something in the mail slot, even though it was Saturday.

        “Are you going to walk?”

        ”No, I’m going to magically sprout wings and fly.” Ming said in Chinese, unable to hold her tone in.

        “I’ll drive you. That’s final.”

        Ming rolled her eyes and went to wait in the garage while her mother got ready. Well, there went her plans to grab some coffee. She munched on her bun, looking on her phone for a minifridge she could pick up.

        Ming hated the new car her parents had gotten. It was metallic red and stunk of fresh plastic. She put her other earbud in, trying to lose herself in the music. She chose to ride shotgun as opposed to ride in the back. Maybe they were just using her school as a reason to flaunt their wealth in this hick town.

        A beat came on, as Blake McGrath began to sing in a low and seductive voice. Ming’s mother got into the car, and Ming closed her eyes, losing her mind into his words.

        The way you move it, if you don’t quit it i’m gonna lose my s**t...

        Ming knew that he was singing about some girl, possibly a hooker, and his sex life, but Ming didn’t care. She was so immersed in the beat, not caring about what the song was about.

        You learned some new s**t…

        Ming tapped her fingernails against the window of the car as her mother drove her to the school. The drive was relatively short, this town was pretty much in the middle of nowhere.

        Baby relax, don’t do it…

        Ming bobbed her head to his voice. At least her parent’s wouldn’t know what the lyrics were about, she was the one who spoke English in the household.

        ”You be good at school, no trouble.” Her mother’s voice broke the intensity that she was feeling. Ming rolled her eyes.

        ”We’re in Japan, no need to speak Cantonese.” Ming said slowly in Japanese, making sure to get her pronunciation correct. ”And I’ll be back”

        Her mother just frowned as they pulled up to the school. Ming grabbed her bag, and exited the car, not even bothering to wave.

        She would go to this school soon. Her first day was creeping up fast. She could feel her mom’s eyes boring into her head, watching to see if she would actually go inside. Ming sighed, wondering how much her parents had bribed the school to look past her criminal record enough to let her in. 5 counts of underage drinking in the United States. 4 in Hong Kong. 15 counts of hacking. 3 of spray paint graffiti.

        The song in Ming’s ears changed to another.

        Oh yeah!! Rock when I rip it, when I’m rolling on clouds shout loud breath in won’t you drown in the now?” The song’s fast pace put Ming out of her criminal past and back into the day at hand.

        Story unfolds, which one will be told? Some get sold, some just fold.

        Ming shoved the envelope in the slot, before walking back to the car. ”Mind if I chill in town?” She asked, leaning on the rolled down window. ”The air would be good for me.” She added in Cantonese, promising to be back.

        Her mother pursed her lips before nodding and driving off. Ming waited for her to leave before going about her day.

        Ming hung out at the Manga Shop for the most of the day, having placed an online order for a mini fridge. She was about to go pick it up, but apparently the train would be running late, even if it was express delivery. She had picked up some illegal ID and nabbed some light spritzers from the liquor store. She had also gotten some coffee, and a small push cart to carry her mini fridge.

        There was a girl, wearing a winter coat, and Ming cursed herself for not foreseeing the snow. No matter, the cold never bothered her anyways. Ming approached her, wheeling the cart behind her. The girl looked lost, and foreign. Well, Ming was one to talk, being a Chinese girl who was American at heart. She was with a boy as well apparently.

        ”Oy, you know where luggage delivery is?” She asked, herself being new to the town.

"God F**king Damn It!! Just die already!" Shoji yelled at his computer. While his room had soundproofing panels scattered around, his more volatile moments could be heard out in the hallway. He was in the midst of recording more content for his Let's Play series. His computer was an elaborate set-up meant specifically for gaming and recording said games as well as his own voice. He was playing on what appeared to be a PS4 that wired simultaneously to his computer and to a small TV. "Grrrrrrr......this is so stupid. For a boss this early in the game he has a s**tload of health. Even the official game guide says this guy is next to imposs.....OH FOR F**K SAKE YOU CHEATING WHORE!!" Shoji screamed as his party was wiped out and he got the game over screen. He growled loudly into his microphone. "I'll try this guy again off-screen and pick back up once I get back to this stage. See you in the next part of Shin Megami Tensei: Devil's Doctrine." He made sure all his recordings were save properly and stood up from his chair. "I need a drink." He spoke to himself as he stepped out of his room.

Out in the halls, he made his way to the nearest vending machine. "Hmmm....Red Bull or Soda....." He pondered over the choices that the machine had to offer.

~~~ I'm only human, And I bleed when I fall down ~~~
Wolfe yawned, rubbing the back of her head. Having registered as a boy, she was stuck on the second floor of the dorm. She places her headphones down, her tired eyes blinking to and fro. Pausing the video of her anime, she stretched.
Whoever was in the dorm, he was making large movements, that was for sure. She could almost hear the floor thumping under his weight, doing whatever activity he is doing. Wolfe sighed, staring up at the ceiling from her bed. Her laptop was on her lap, a scene in her anime frozen across time. She placed her hand out, and grimaced. Having the act like a boy in school was tiring, especially Physical Education. She passed off with her chest bound, but she was afraid of others finding out.
Argh, tomorrow was the first day of school. She got up and put away her laptop. shutting it down. Maybe it was a bad idea to come to school after all. Her parents were right. Humans were cruel and merciless when it came to differences. She pulled on her hoodie, and eyed herself in the mirror. A boy stared back at her, and she smiled softly. At least she could have her own fashion preferences. Placing her hands in her pockets, she exited the room. The young cross dresser felt slightly thirsty, and craved for some soda.
In the halls, she walked to the vending machine, stopping behind another guy. Another of her dorm mates, though, not very familiar. She tapped her foot silently, awaiting, before giving up and heading to the next one and immediately slotting in her money. Her soda came, and she picked it up, opening it. Taking a large gulp, she coughed, tears rising to her eyes.
Too fast, Wolfe. She chided herself, taking it slow with the can. Leaning against the wall, her eyes wandered, her thoughts running amok.
HP: 150
Rokoro hummed along to the music coming from his iPod headphones as he rounded the last corner to the dorm rooms.Today it was classic rock; the current song playing: Crazy Train. Tomorrow, who knows? Maybe some more modern rock. Maybe some pop music. He put that thought to the back of his head as he opened the front door.
"Honey, I'm home!" He called out to the lobby with a grin. He looked around for a moment as he closed the door. Ichiro should have been back with the new girl by now, What was her name? Erin something, he recalled. He was planning on picking her up himself, but Chen had called him in to help work at the archery shop. He needed to get everything ready for the new year, as new students would be joining the archery club, and as such, more business would go through his shop. It was rather late, so perhaps the train was delayed? He decided he should probably wait for them to return and flopped down on the couch, leaning back and letting his legs stretch out. He then reached for the remote and flipped on the television, switching through the channels until he settled on some random game show.
Oᴏc: Sorry I didn't reply sooner. As Key said, IRL=evil, but actually the main reason I did wait was to let other rpers get a chance to post back too so I could gauge who all would be where. I'll respond again asap after the pair of you post back this time. XP
                                tab tab Her name being called out, albeit incorrectly, made her jump. Her head spun towards the source, a boy with blue eyes and dark hair. His jacket was fur-lined, she wasn't sure if it was faux or not, but he seemed to have an average taste in apparel. How did he know her name? Curious yet still nervous, she addressed him.
                                tab tab "Actually, my name is Arin, not Erin..." she said, her voice coming off as reserved and somewhat timid. She'd have signs of a foreign accent, especially given her tendency to travel, but her words would still be easy enough to understand and reminiscent of the way someone in town might speak. She was going to press how the boy knew that, but yet another person addressed her, this time asking for luggage delivery. She blanked for a moment, before realizing that they were in a train station and there were signs in plain sight. Perhaps she did not see them yet? Whatever the case, the girl's sense of fashion was a little more up Arin's alley than the boy's. Arin felt like she'd fit in one of the light shows she'd seen done. Some neon trim in a few places could really make her outfit come to life. Her response was a little louder. "I don't know, but the signs say it's that way... I could help you find it... if you want... "
                                tab tab Her voice progressively quieted itself as she spoke. She knew the boy was important somehow. She just wasn't sure how. And this girl seemed lost. If there was one thing a circus couldn't have, it was a lost person! They took hours to find and who knew what trouble they might get into!
Noticing another girl had arrived at the station, Ichiro payed little attention to her since he was not there to pick her up to his knowledge. He wanted to get this Arin girl and get back to the dorm before it got even later then it already was. Why should he bother with people who he had no interest in talking to, let alone help? As long as he got Arin and went back, he'd be fine, plain and simple. He did not want to wake up tired because of some girl who decided to arrive late thanks to whatever her reasoning was.
When a purple dressed girl addressed him by stating he said her name wrong, Ichiro sighed in annoyance. This must of been Arin then, not sure how he botched the name on that but whatever. She looked like she'd be a handful to deal, that was for sure. "Arin then. The names Ichiro, I was told to pick you up and take you to the dorm you'll be staying at because I live in the same dorm." he said before adjusting the zipper on his jacket. "So lets get your stuff and get going, its late." he said in a pushy voice before the girl from before addressed them and Arin spoke to her. ".....I think she was trying to direct you to it..." he said with a annoyed look on his face to Arin. He wasn't mad at her, just annoyed by this whole experience.
        Ming could feel the girl’s eyes drawn to her outfit. She looked at the girl, who seemed to be.. gawking at what she wore. Ming frowned, great, another girl who was judging based off of looks.
        This girl, her name was Arin? The word sounded foreign, but Ming didn’t really care, after all, she was Chinese. At any rate, this blond haired chick suggested reading the signs.
        That would have been no problem, had Ming’s Japanese reading been perfect. She could speak it fine, but reading, she was okay at. Ming pulled out her phone, the current song fading out. She hit pause, before going to a translating program online. 10:45. It was late. Better get going.
        Natasha Bedingfield cooed in her in ear about her pocketful of sunshine, and Ming was almost jealous. This place was too cold, she didn’t like the cold
        ‘A sweet escape, take me away!’
        ”You know what, I’ll find it anyways, thanks for your help.” Ming said, mentally sizing the other boy up. He probably didn’t like her outfit, nobody really did. Ming walked away a short distance before stopping.
        Ming began tapping away at the letters on the phone’s touch screen keyboard, preferring to go the simple route of going from English to Japanese. She held up the screen, comparing the results to the signs. When something matched, she found the wooden box that had her name on it, and lugged it onto the dolly. Satisfied, the girl walked home.
        It was late by the time Ming did arrive, and she was freezing her butt off. She came through the garage door, hiding the box and dolly. For now, she would go answer to her mother. Ming hid the booze as well, making a mental note to retrieve both items later.
        ”You’re late.”
        ’No s**t’ Ming thought to herself in Cantonese. She just shrugged, going to her room to get warm.
        When it was safer at night to go retrieve her items, Ming made sure it was at least 1AM. She popped open an energy drink, sipping on it as she made her way to the garage. She took care of the fridge first, hauling it up at snail pace. God how she hated there were no elevators in their house.At least the penthouse in Hong Kong had a separate elevator for the upstairs.
        Ming put down the box and carefully hid it in between some other boxes she had underneath her infrequently used desk. Ming stacked the shoebox that had her security camera on it, on top, figuring out installation later.
        For now, she went back downstairs, retrieving her energy drink and beer from the garage. Ming chugged the rest, putting the plastic bag under her bed. She really should go to sleep.
        Ming lay down, thinking about what she had to do tomorrow. Rearrange furniture, cut the box so she could open and close the fridge inconspicuously. Make sure it had access to a plug. For now, she had to rest...
                                tab tab The boy's comment made her feel a little ridiculous. Of course she was coming in on a late train. Her mother would be certain to ask them to send someone to meet her. As he asked her to gather her things, she slightly gestured to the rolling luggage with her. Something small enough to be permitted in the cabin of the train. It was all one who knew how to travel would need. Arin was very much a traveler, in the end. The small bag carried the few possessions she felt necessary for her schooling and her clothes. This was when the girl she addressed suddenly decided her help wasn't needed. Arin's face fell a little as the girl walked off. However, she didn't get a chance to follow after as the boy, Ichiro, seemed determined to chase her towards the dorms. She couldn't blame him. Someone who didn't spend a lot of time outdoors would find this chill to be a bit bitter.
                                tab tab "I'm ready to go, Ichiro-san," she answered. The teen would follow the boy out of the station without fuss. After all, he was going to lead her to where her dorm was, and she had no reason to doubt him. He sorta knew her name, knew she'd be here, and knew she was arriving to go to school in Yukimachi. Too much of it added up for it not to make sense. "..."
                                tab tab It was cold here. Somewhat like her father's stories described. Then again, a town named after snowfall was bound to be chilly on occassion. She was again, grateful for her warmer taste in apparel.
