I was thinking about how to classify colors (because I'm sorry but I really don't want a million rainbow spotted albino pikachus running around everywhere?) ...

We could have:

Normal: Standard pokemon, available in shades/tints - but general colors and markings.

Party Color: Standard colors, but maybe location of colors is swapped or markings are different / missing.

Shiny Standard: Standard markings, but any non-standard color.

Shiny Party Color: Non-standard colors, non-standard markings.

Obviously arranged from least to most rare.

I MADE A SPRITE DIAGRAM TOO.



Technically the second shiny party color is a regular shiny I just didn't realise it until I was already uploading so screw it. 8B

why not just do a mix of cute and not cute?

there are plenty of pokemon that are firggin adraoble as hell, but when a 10 foot scary ******** DRAGON starts swooping in on you, you're going to be running as fast as hell.

same with the ghost and some psychic types. those are pretty terrifying too. read their pokedex entries.

Well, our whole idea is more on the dark side than the cutie side really. We wanted to get one art style to have a unified shop look - neither of us is really fond of shops with DRASTICALLY DIFFERENT STYLES for the same kind of pet. u wu;

Well we're ... really trying to figure out which art style to use? I mean obv some of the mons are gonna be scarier than others regardless of art style, but there's a biiiig difference in how my detailed / painting style looks compared to the lineless / more chibified version?
