( Jesse, you never really... left. xD; Maybe only a day or two has passed since you dropped everyone off at the island! Teeechnically you're 'prolly still whizzin' around above the island in that fancy-shmacy space ship of yours. xD Buuut I would try contacting any of those people I listed! Well, that have your frequency, anyway. :P Or! Better yet, be the pirate lord you are and take command over some of these pirates on the island. Like said, while the GA were gone, they were kinda hired to protect the people from the rebels, but... they're no doubt using their status to extort money, and just generally roughhousing... )

Tipsy Reveler

Neon Graffiti
With every word that inched out of their mouths, the nightmare seemed to grow. Neon had never met this Dilong, but he knew of him as the a Durem crime boss who presided leadership over the enigmatic Black Society, an organization that's walked a very similar path as the Maurizio family.
"You... you mean Stefano is here? You brought him here?" No. Oh nonono, Neon wanted more than anything in the world to speak to Stefano, but the Isle was the absolutely last place he wished for him to be right now, what with all the recent violent uprisings. For the first time time in what seemed like ever, the islands were more dangerous than Durem itself.

"Where is he??" Neon leaned up close, his glowing eyes surprised, unprepared, as if Stefano himself was waiting to walk out from behind Door Number 1. "I want to see him, Demarco. I wanna hear this from his own mouth." But, in his heart, he knew that wasn't what he really wanted to speak to Stefano about. Nonetheless, Neon kept his jacket zipped and arms crossed, protecting his only self-defense from prying hands, knowing Stefano's older brother as a shrewd, deadly contrast from himself. What was once an overwhelming sense of fight or flight that gripped him, quickly 'came filled with growing curiosity. If Hound was in on it, then there's no way this could have been a con.
And if the Don Juan was speaking the truth, then that meant that there were currently two clans of scheming criminalites on the island; just an added cherry to the topping of pirates, militia, and armed rebellion.

Neon suddenly caught 13 hissing frantically. While only cat sounds, Neon heard it as seasoned yakuza cursing. Twisting around to find what his cat was all the fuss about, his mouth dropped at the conclusion. Brilliant, curly, orange mane, followed by a dashing creamsicle dress, no doubt picked by a professional, and a billowing fur boa coiled around her like something wild.

"A... Akiko."

Heedless, Akita's daintily painted fingers hunted down Demarco's cigar and uplifted it from his fingers and embracing its ends with her own lips, where she gave him a demonstration in how to properly smoke an imported cigar. Not like a mobster, but as an aristocrat, for if there was one thing Akita was a master of, it was blending in with the crowd. It made her kills that more unseen.

"It's good to see you too, Ne'." She smiled, smoke misting her painted lips, "Can see you're still reppin' the old days," She hunched the cigar in the direction of his hoodie. "You grew into it nicely."
Oh, how she wished she could only embrace him right then and there. But she knew that kind of behavior would not fly with Demarco, and she understood why. Perhaps, when all business matters were settled, there'd be time for reconciliation.

Now, was not that time.

"I'll third their accusations, and maybe even drop a little proof." Akita presented a long, official looking paper which had on it, what seemed like an eternity of names written. A closer look, and Neon would find it to be the Gambino family tree, with the last two names circled in bright, red ink: "Stefano" and "Guanlong."
"Go on. Take it, it's not laced with poison or anything." Akita smirked. "I imagine none 'a that kinda stuff works on you anymore, anyhow."
As Neon studied the paper Akita went on to explain, "From what they tell me, the boys were invited to the underwater abode of a man you may be familiar with. Labtech X? Maybe you've heard of him?"

Neon caught the "NeXus" symbol before she even began to explain. He felt his heart drop into his stomach. "Labtech X...?" Neon could hardly believe what he was hearing. He looked up at Akita, eyes perpetually shocked. "No... no way."

"Yeah, way. It's legit, Neon." Akita smiled, somberly. "Our boys' all grown up now. And, like a rightful heir, he's come to claim his kingdom. Poetic, no?"

"Yeah, 'cept unfortunately for you…" Demarco was lighting another cigar, seeing as how his girlfriend had nipped his first. "That kingdom happens to be the one you're sitting on." He took a puff and seemed satisfied, ushering Kiki and her slinky dress into his lap. "Now that's poetic."
-----------------------------------

Cainan did not LOVE playing the game room. Most people were more interested in diligently losing their money than watching his act. For the gambling addicts, he had to up the ante, so to speak.

In the midst of Neon's shock and Demarco's smug puffing on his cigar, the casino moved on around them. The main overhead lights dimmed, leaving the expansive gaming room lit by the individual table lights, and a moment later, the vaguely yellow and red lights which had burst to life over the stage.
Out from the thickly draped red curtain stepped a single, unremarkable man. He had dressed in a vest that was a bit too red and gloves which were similarly, a little too white. Obnoxiously white. He looked a bit lonely up there, one man painted in tinted stage lights.

He made his way to stage front on black healed boots which were only a half inch away from belonging in the women's section, and as he got closer to his distracted crowd, the ones who looked could make out two things about him: He was clearly of Irish decent, strawberry blond and freckled, and he was hiding something. From the closer distance, everyone could tell that this showman was wearing a unique mask. Reminiscent in style of a certain phantom, it covered only the right half of his face. Even his eye was fully covered, in it's place a painted cat's eye; in fact, the entire half-mask turned the right side of his visage into that of a white lion.

He didn't seem to notice. Instead he flashed his audience a broad grin and held up his hands dramatically, fingers wiggling as thrumming music set in behind him. With exaggerated movements, he reached into his sleeve, paused...and with a flourish produced a bouquet of plastic, dollar-store flowers. There were a couple groans.

Seeming undeterred, he tossed the flowers behind him and pulled a pack of cards out of his inside pocket. He would have lost his last remaining viewers right then and there if there wasn't something to be seen rustling the curtains behind him. As the shittiest showman they'd ever seen started to shuffle his cards, a massive paw showed itself from behind the stage curtain. In almost in instant, that paw became a full-grown beast. It had the face of a tiger, but the color was off, and the size! It was one of the biggest cats on planet earth, it was a liger, and it was stalking in agitated lines behind the vested "magician".

More people were turning away from their games to look now. Some laughed, but a couple stood up, anxious. One girl was backpedaling toward the game room doors.
The Irishman was in the midst of flourishing his trick deck between his hands, as if he couldn't quite hear the chuffing and growling behind him.

When the cat leapt, the man ducked onto his haunches in a blink, and the stalking predator sailed over him and landed front and center stage with the loudest roar you've ever heard. People laughed and clapped, particularly the one's who'd shrieked.

Cainan the Tamer stood up behind his cat, grinning wildly and throwing out his arms. It was in this moment of basking in his audience that his eyes found Neon, there at the poker table and emanating an unmistakable aura. As the applause started to quell, Cainan caught Neon's eye and wiggled his fingers in a knowing wave.

-------------------------------------

Demarco bit his cigar between his teeth so he could give a few claps. Red eyes rolling over to look at Neon, he asked "You know him?"

[ Isle de Gambino - Gold Mountain Casino ]

With his shoulders still stapled to his seat, Neon struggled to move, much less read. This document held all the necessary proof of legitimacy, and was hard evidence in locating a wanted terrorist, and enemy of G-Corp. That said, Neon didn't want Stefano to get caught up in whatever scheme it was Demarco had concocted for him. Armed with only a six-shooter, he'd have little to bargain with...

Akita didn't mind playing man's best friend, and made herself comfortable in Demarco's lap. The show was just beginning, but when darkness fell, the glow in the Graffiti King's eyes became more evident, surprising her.
'He'd really done it,' She thought, a little proud of her old leader. 'He really became a soldier, just like he said he would.'

"Whoa," Otherwise uninterested in the lackluster magic tricks, it was the ear-curdling roar that instantly trapped his attention. "Cainan the Courageous" they called him; those close calls, coupled with that ogre-sized cat were his calling cards. Neon didn't recognize him at first, having never caught one of his shows, but by the looks of it, neither had any of the Maurizio Family. The perfect distraction.
"No, uh," Neon clapped with them, sweating beneath his collar. "Never met him before in my life." Through choppy slight-of-hand, he risked slipping the documents into his jacket under the fresh blanket of darkness, but was caught in the act, and found his wrist wrenched from his his coat and into the limelight. Luckily, he had managed to conceal the documents -- unluckily, his gun was exposed.

"What do we have here." Pit, the enforcer, removed Neon's weapon with expert handling, making sure the chamber was ejected so that there would be no unfortunate accidents. Neon made a grab for it, but quickly found her muscly knee coiled around his neck, restricting what little movement he had.
"Happy Birthday," Ever-condescending, she handed off the handgun to her employer.

The card dealer fast became very, very nervous. While he attempted to reach beneath the table to call security, Akita acted on a hair trigger, cocking her naughtily concealed pistol, deliciously hidden beneath her dress.
"Don't do anything fishy now," She smirked, "You're a professional, after all. We're not even done with the first deck."

Finally released from Pit's strangehold, Neon fought between catching his breath and rubbing his wrist. Aside from Wolf, Neon wondered if whether this other "Dog" was anything supernatural. Or maybe, it had just been a while since he'd fell pray under the grip of a especially powerful woman. Ashamed from having been caught with his pants down, Neon didn't say anything. Merely, he kept his eyes on the guns drawn, making sure there weren't any itchy trigger fingers. If there were, he'd be sure to protect those in the way - Rakugaki or not.

Thirteen hissed uncontrollably at the gangsters, his hair standing on end. In the dark, his eyes shown like wild fireflies. Akita was quick to silence him with a thick-pitched growl, sending the cat retreating behind Neon's neck.

( Hehe... "Pirate King".. speaking of that title, the island's got a couple surprises in store for you. rolleyes

A lot of this plot has had me wondering why pirates are such commonplace on the Gambino islands. The Shallow Sea Pirates apparently have a "Pirate Queen" in zomg... )
