...And in her self-loathing and despair...

Her pale, delicate hands folded to rest in her lap as she leaned back slightly, a look of concern written on her youthful face. Calystane's bright eyes, troubled and half lidded, watched the pained expression on a young man as he laid himself back down after she'd instructed him to sit up for his examination. It was just two weeks ago he had come to her for help after he displayed symptoms of an illness, and in such a short time, he had rapidly declined. Without any equipment, it was hard for Calystane to even fathom a diagnosis for the young man. If she were to assume anything, it would be a form of some kind of accelerated cancer, but without knowing anything definite, she kept her thoughts to herself. She was no doctor nor did she have any formal training, but she was the closest thing the Rebellion had to someone with that kind of knowledge. With a soft voice that hid her concern, Calystane began to speak while she rummaged through her bag. "Along with the feverfew I gave you last week, I want you to take some of this blood root. It is very hard for me to find so please use it sparingly." Pulling out a mass wrapped in cloth, she sighed inwardly. She was running low on supplies already. It felt like just yesterday she'd gone hunting for herbs and come up with poor luck. "I will give it to your wife on my way out." After closing her bag and standing, Calystane offered an optimistic smile. "I will be by after a few days to check on you, Darius." With the progression he'd made in a couple of weeks being negative, the Siren couldn't help but feel a bit helpless.
After leaving the tent, the sound of tapping on a microphone followed by William's voice caught her attention. Stopping in her tracks, Calystane frowned as she turned her gaze downwards to the hard ground underneath her. He sounded so worn, and yet, there was nothing she could do to help him. With his brother still eating away at his thoughts, the best Calystane could do for him was be there. She'd tried cheering him up many times only to no avail. Now, this. It was never ending with ARCO. As William's voice silenced for a short moment, she took the opportunity to return to her previous objective. After dropping her belongings off at her tent, she couldn't help but smile to herself. After he'd resumed his speech, Calystane silently praised William. Now, that sounded more like the man she'd found herself fond of.
Once at the meeting grounds, the Siren stood a bit away from the others, not wanting to make them uncomfortable by standing too close. She'd always stuck out like a sore thumb in a group of Rebels. After all, she almost resembled a porcelain doll with her slight frame accompanied by her moonlight pale skin, black dresses, and well-kept hair. For the most part, she'd proven herself worthy when she'd contributed to William's safe return, but there were many who still did not trust her. She honestly didn't blame them nor did she hold anything against them for it.
