DBZ influenced the fighting that's sure. There was never an anime before DBZ that showed two human looking characters that could fight for hours and hours and bring colossal damage to the battlefield and each other. It was breath-taking to watch two simple looking people to have so much strength for the first time. DBZ is one of the most influential anime ever. Its certain Madara wouldn't be as strong as he is if it wasn't for DBZ, and that gave some background to the story.

Ok, it makes her significant to YOU uniquely I guess and people like you, but not globally and story-wise. And I'm not gonna explain again what "contest" I'm "playing" because I'm pretty sure I made that very clear.

FOTNS is a year younger, and the same thing. Lots of action and lots of manliness <3

So you won the argument by stating your own opinion?

No, I won because I proved there's no way you can defend your arguments better than I can defend my own.

That's sorta being a bigot, isn't it?

Facts cannot be bigotry.

Opinions are not always factual, especially about how useful you think a character is. But then again, I'll leave you to your bigotry. =)

You like Hinata because you can personally relate to her. I dislike her because she's isn't relevant to the story. The debate, was if she was relevant to the story or not.

The topic was how Hinata was useless. Of course I would use the word since the context was appropriate. Hinata's influence on the development of the series is not relevant. When you're referring to a character in a story, if it be a movie, novel or comic book, you talk about his/her relevance to the main conflict and story. Everybody has a part in the development, but its topic that concerns "usefulness". Hinata has never beaten an enemy that was a big problem to everyone around her. All she has done to help her team always had an alternative. For ******** sakes, Konoha closed their ties with Kumogakure because of Hinata. Things would have been better if she was never alive honestly. The only reason her character exists is so that naruto has someone who loves him and to have a "kawaii" character to attract more audience into that bullshit.
not to be rude but I need to know if you write or read stories cause right now if you do, your not showing it. you are actually saying that for a character to be relevant in a story they need to be able to beat up a bad a** villain? wrong. Sure Hinata has never beaten a super important villain but she has help the main protagonist and others when they need it. Not everyone can be super bad a** and be all " I whoop your a**", for that, there's Naruto that does the impossible when villains are concern.

All the times that Hinata has been showned she does what she specializes in, Tracking. Hinata is not suppose to be a powerful character, she's suppose to be a support, again I repeat, not all characters need to be super badass and be able to beat a super villain to be considered useful and part of the development. if all character did that, it would be monotone and it would honestly remind me of another DB.Hinata is the character that wants to make her clan proud but can't keep up with the hight criteria that her family expect, because of this she's insecure, shy and works hard on getting stronger and not be look down to her has a fail Hyuga. That Hinata is the love interest of the protagonist, yeah she is, That she's an average Hyuga? yes she is, just because Neji was a prodigy doesn't mean that Hinata needs to be, why would you need that? would you like 2 characters that are prodigies and practically do the same thing? I don't think so.that she's suppost to be the cute character? yeah. that people like her for it and that kishimoto made her like that? all artist do it, thats why there are different characters with different personalities. As a ninja her usefulness falls in being the eyes of the tracking team, defender and the one that neutralizes the subject when capture, plus in the story she has been able to encourage and help Naruto when he most needed support. Kiba is the one that uses scents to follow trials and guide their team to the subject, plus he's also the offense on the team. Shino is the senser of the group, keep tap on the subject if it's gives a chase and a support for Kiba if he needs it. this team was use before to track sasuke since that's their specialty, Konoha doesn't need another offense team, they got team Gai for that.

I'm not gonna read that because its waste of time. Hinata's useless because she was never a special help. Every accomplishment she's done for anyone could have easily been replaced by someone else sometime. Shikmaru's not strong fighter because he's an incredibly intelligent one and nobody can take his place. Choji is one of the strongest akimichi clan members and the next head of his family. Ino is in the same position as Choji. Kiba has the best sense of smell than anybody in the whole ninja world and I'm not exaggerating. I don't see how Shino is that special, idk him much. Sakura is a disciple of one of the three legendary sannin and a highly proficient medical ninja who's skill surpasses the average medical jonin. Sasuke needs no explanation, neither does Naruto. Hinata is just the daughter of the head of the family. As a fighter, she's an average hyuga clan member.

You CAN have two prodigies in a story. Death Note had geniuses everywhere and that show was a big thriller.
well then I guess I will leave your case alone cause I can see that you only see usefulness when a character is either OP or needs to make something over drastic. In other words we see the usefulness in a character differently.

and in Death Note's case it isnt the same L and Light. Yes both of them were genius but one was good while the other one was the bad guy. it was a fight between 2 genius, one to find Kira and not let him continue killing and the other to outsmart the good genius and draw a checkmate, it was a game of cat and mouse, that was the thriller, who would get the upper hand in the situation. If Hinata and Neji were both genius from the Hyuga clan, with the same abilities and they are both on the good team the competition would be between each other to what? surpass each other? I'm sorry but the story doesn't focus on them there would be no point cause the competition with each other wouldn't be showed at all and the times that would be most probably would leave some fans thinking "this is irrelevant to the story-line". So yeah, 2 genius from the same clan, abilities and on the good side when they are not the main focus i believe it's not a good idea.

The case with Light and L wasn't one was good and one was evil. It was a masterpiece because they were good in their own way. The thriller, was to find out who was truly good. Hinata was far from genius. I really don't know how you can get that idea that she's equal to Neji in skills. You must be crazy. Neji prolonged the fight to show Hinata how hopeless it was to keep going. He even said it. You can't just look at them exchanging blows and come up with a conclusion that they're equal. Seriously, you could even see Hinata struggling and Neji completely relaxed.
um sweety read well what I wrote. I said "IF" Hinata and Neji were both genius I never said she was, I know very clear that Hinata is not stronger than Neji, I neer sugarcoat facts even if it's one of my favorite characters, however, you are saying/ said that Hinata is a useless character BECAUSE she hasnt beaten a bad a** relevant villain in the series and that I don't find it strong enought fact to consider a character useless, to me thats the onlything you are using to render her useless. Also Light started good, but his ambition, the power he adquiere and his lust later on to be consider a God turn him into a tyrant, he started good but ended up turning into a villain.

I never said Hinata was useless because she defeated a strong enemy. Have you been ignoring everything I've been saying? I'm saying EVERYTHING that she's ever done to benefit her team or anyone else was never crucial and she could have been easily replaced.

You can't just measure someone's usefulness by the enemies they defeat. In that case, everyone in the show is useless except for Naruto since he's the strongest.

And with that Death Note thing you said, I have no idea what your talking about. I'm just saying the thrill of that show was to see between L and Light, the one that can proof himself to be real justice and goodness.

I just found it sort of odd is all, that you hate her because of that reason, saying she is useless in everything she does, maybe to you, but story wise, in truth, she has helped it along. Or the only who kick a** in a Shounen manga/anime helps the plot along/or adds detail to the story, which makes an only useful character. I don't mind debating at all, but I don't do so to prove my intelligence because I lurk on forums and think no one is going to say otherwise. And that I'll just win over every debate because my mind tells me so, when, there really isn't anyone is winning or losing. It's just opinions.

From what I have read so far is exactly that, again you are viewing her worth only by abilities and not by what her character is suppost to be. Most of the character you have reference so far can as well be easily replace yet you say no to the role Hinata falls into. Is very clear that you and I have different views on what we consider a useless character. To me your arguments on why you consider her useless are not enough and the reason why I believe she isnt aren't enough for you, so is a meaninless discussion because in the end we would end up just going on a circle. I already explained how the characters I have named can't be replaced as easily as Hinata. And the reason why this won't end is because you keep saying I haven't proven my point well enough when I had to repeat it a hundred times. You think someone's usefulness is based on how much they contribute to the story line, but all I see was that she slapped Naruto back to his sense, but anyone else could have done that. Honestly, Hinata only exists so she can a love interest to Naruto and to attract audience who like that "kawai" bullshit.

Naturally, since you like Hinata, you would defend her. But the reason why you defend is not rational because it has nothing to do with what I said, it was a whole different reason. Again, you like her because you can relate to her and I hate her because she is useless. If the debate was if Hinata could be relatable to an audience, and I was opposed to it, you'd win. But the debate was about how she was useless. And since the reason why I hate Hinata correlates with the topic of the debate, ultimately, I win.

You like Hinata because you can personally relate to her. I dislike her because she's isn't relevant to the story. The debate, was if she was relevant to the story or not.

^re-read this as many time as you need, this should clearly explain why our motives demonstrate why I'll always win.

But she does relate to the story if she's in Naruto.

I hate her because she's useless. You love her because you can relate to her. The debate was how she was useless.

I can't be more clear than that. Seriously.

Of course it was how she was useless. But stating she was useless like that sparked my opposite opinion. And I was allowed to state what I think, =) Especially if I am supporting her. Never once did I claim I could "win debates no matter what". If you think she's useless in that way, that's fine.

Now if you were SPECULATING, that's a whole different story.

"I am intelligent, because I know nothing."-Socrates

Naturally, since you like Hinata, you would defend her. But the reason why you defend is not rational because it has nothing to do with what I said, it was a whole different reason. Again, you like her because you can relate to her and I hate her because she is useless. If the debate was if Hinata could be relatable to an audience, and I was opposed to it, you'd win. But the debate was about how she was useless. And since the reason why I hate Hinata correlates with the topic of the debate, ultimately, I win.

B-but, I've said this before~ you can make usefulness by relating to a character. -which is out of context with this debate.

Enough about me. I think you know how I feel about this.=)

So is just stupid to continue talking of this, but well things like this happen and not everyone can share the same views

Honestly, Hinata only exists so she can a love interest to Naruto and to attract audience who like that "kawai" bullshit.

and still you haven't proven it to me and nop alot of character you have mention I can easily considered them useless as well. Ino, Kiba and Chouji can easily be considered irrelevant. Ino hasn't put much in the story development, yet you considered her useful because her abilities as a Yamanaka and do the Ino-Shika-Cho, in other words she could easily be replace by another Yamanaka and if you mention that she can use medic nin, that just as easily falls on Sakura. I have never heard a character besides Kiba himself say that his nose is the best, Kiba is a prideful character so of course he will say that his kin of smell is the best, he has the same abilities as members of the Inuzuka clan in other words, can be easily be replace by another inuzuka. Chouji, only recently was able tto get the screen time he needed to prove that he help in the story and yes he prove that he can be consider the strongest in the akimichi, however even so he's most noticeable work were when he help in the Sasuke rescue ( and here he still didn't have much training at all) and when working with Ino-Shika-Cho, again he could have been easily replace by another akimishi. If I follow it this way as you can see they can be easily considered useless but alas they have showed that they can be useful in their own way. If by helping the story developed they don't show their worth, then they make it by helping the protagonist with a problem his having, in which ALL of Naruto's friends fall into, again this itself shows that is irrelevant to comapred the usefulness of characters, because they all have their downsides and upsides.

Hinata's relevant are small but they are there and they have done the something important that the ones above haven't done, affect the main character in some way. In the chunnin exams, Pein arc and the war are her more noticeable ones. If you view Hinata's story and compared them with any other character I think you could see that easily Hinata would always have the better chance on being the useful one in those circumstances because of the difficulties she has gone threw herself with her clan. and yet again this is why I say that this discussion is irrelevant, your view her as useless because you say that she can easily be replace because of power, I say she can't be because no matter what, Hinata has been the one to encourage Naruto in some moments he has needed them and is not because of her liking him, but more because she believes that he's stronger than her and just like she's striking to prove her worth to her Family, he should never dough his capabilities, like she did before. Neji maybe could have, but in his case he never saw the hardships Naruto went threw like HInata and the rest of rookie 9 saw it.

I'm not going to keep explaining it to you because you don't know how to read. I'm honestly done with you being so hard headed when you're asking for something I already gave you. I have no time for this. I'm also tired of reading through your poor grammar. This has been a waste of my time. If you keep replying after I asked you to stop, I'll report it.
