Anyway, books should be respected not burned.
Why? because the writer took his (or hers) time to write it? he was paid for when people acquired the book. Why should books "be respected"?
Books represent a persons thoughts, ideas and opinions, none of which can truly be equated to money. To not respect the book is to not respect the legitimacy of the writer's opinion. Keep in mind, every person is entitled to his or her own opinion, and to have that opinion respected, whether it is agreed with or not. This goes back to the philosophy behind the first amendment to the US consititution:
"I may not like what you have to say, but I'll die to defend your right to say it."
