When Viktor had first come out to say that Moe wasn’t blind. Zia stared at the man with her head tilted to the side, both eyebrows up and looked at him like she was trying to think perhaps the man had hit his head a little too much. If Moe couldn’t see anything, how would that make him not blind? But all the same, she was curious to know what the man had found out. So sitting there while Moe and Viktor conversed back and forth, she listened to everything Viktor had to explain.

Wrapping her mind around it she looked at Moe. Like Moe, Zia had that nagging feeling once again there was something they weren’t telling them about. She got that feeling ever since they first arrived and talked on the ship. But seeing as they were nice enough to host them as guests and help them she never really pushed the subject. But thinking about everything that Viktor said about Moe and meta’s that they couldn’t figure out the power they had made her think back to what she been told about Dejah and her people.

Dejah’s world didn’t have a high enough source to grant them powers. And it took some time after being exposed to the source on Earth that some even started to show any ability to have powers. And while her planet did have the source and it was much higher then on Dejah’s planet. It still was not as high as it seemed here. So did that mean thanks to the limited amount of source on their world was it possible that whatever had altered in Moe just couldn’t be activated?

They hadn’t been on Mars that long. She heard it took some months for Dejah’s people to start showing and those born on the planet often didn’t start showing powers to some time along in life. Which made her guess that maybe if Moe was exposed to the energy long enough that something might show itself. How? She could not know much like Viktor that stumped her. She really wouldn’t have guessed this, if she hadn’t heard everything Viktor explained. She would have believed what everyone else did on their world that Moe had gone blind due to an experiment on him gone wrong.

That also made her think. That whatever it was they had been doing that had caused it, if Moe hadn’t shown any sign of increased power something they had done might have activated something but like she said before the limited amount of source on their planet might not have worked with what had altered. That right there all went back to what she had originally thought when they had discovered the difference in her powers. That because she was a mage and he a chi user that things just effected them both differently.

After giving it some more thought over she shared her thoughts with Moe. But of course it was all just guesses. But it was something for Zia to think about and perhaps hope. But all the same in whatever ways they could help Moe would be good enough for her, even if it was just helping him have full control of his chi. As long as he didn’t go back into the rut he had been in before she would be happy.

Zia wasn’t sure how she felt about changelings after the entire fiasco they had pulled on her. Waking up and seeing a strange man and not to mention a strange kid in your house was enough to give anyone a heart attack. More so when she actually started to believe for a moment that maybe they were right that perhaps she did have amnesia. With everything that seemed strange to her lately that wouldn’t have surprised her. It wasn’t until she had gotten to Viktor’s and figured out why they were laughing that it really clicked to her what was going on. Ivonna had to keep her from banging her head against a wall and give her tea in order to calm herself down. “We did warn you dear.” Ivonna only patted the young woman’s back as she sat with her head in her hands but only in relief to know that she truly wasn’t going crazy. And while she wanted to be mad, she pretty much guess she had it coming by not taking their warning too seriously like she should have.

As for her body double, her instructions were easy which she had both explained verbally and wrote down. “Absolutely NO marriage. Any marriage offers that come are simply to be ignored except for a polite no thank you to keep the families from getting too insulted that I do not want their sons. Only my grandmother, besides those who tested me, knows about my aging so that’s to be kept a secret. Since I doubt a changeling can body someone’s power try to avoid situations where it’s needed…” That was one of the things that worried her the most. While Zia didn’t use magic for everything there were still moments that she used and practiced it. There wasn’t many projects needed to be done other then to get the family into line and good graces with the other families again to avoid ridicule and keep them from striking against hers while she was away. Everything else she written down on what she thought would be important.

"Or he could be a special circumstance meta, basically a meta who's powers only work under certain conditions a example of this would be some one who can manipulate fire but can't make it he's totally normal unless there's a fire around him to use his power on. This is one of the reason why a small percentage of meta's discover there power to this day." Moe would be moved out of the hospital but to Zia annoyance was being moved to a different housing building than hers as Cosima would tell her. "You can't keep babying him my dear, your hurting his pride letting him live on his own is important for him to keep growing!"

His work as it were mostly dealt with sharing Chi techniques with Jager and the other teachers letting them compare methods between each world it would give him pocket money and then in the afternoons he would be learning engineering and other things in the advanced school as they had to cram probably forty years with of schooling into his head in just three years so several special techniques were going to be used one of which was a power called memory replay. Moe would live some one else's life while he slept each night would be like living there school life for a month and his blindness wouldn't be a issue as this went directly into his brain.

Some of the side effects were amusing one day he could only speak in German another day in ancient Greek fortunately the translation ring meant that these were more amusing than any thing else for Zia. As for the changelings. "I wouldn't suggest trying to get them back that will just encourage them to do some thing else, now it's time for your first flying lessons so let me tell you this flying is easy it's the stopping that's hard!" When it came to Zia's powers and the body double they already had a answer.

Zia just reached out and touched the arms bands her double was wearing until she'd turned them off she hadn't even been able to see them or even feel that she had them on, Theo just grinned at her his head resting in the palm of one hand. "Those are spell bracers each of those gems holds a spell in it each bracer holds twenty four spells each forty eight in total for the pair along with some necklaces and rings the spell total is fifty one. With that she can do much of any thing she's most likely to be called upon doing." Theo frowned for a moment. "Of course it doesn't mean she can cast that many spells rapid fire the bands only have enough of a charge for four or five spells but given your world I don't think many will notice it."

It would take a fair amount of time for them to recharge and of course the changeling could use there own battery to power them as a last resort but it would mean that the changeling could do magic to keep people fooled fortunately magic wasn't that often used and the changeling already had a few excuses for certain other magical matters ready.

She was honestly relieved they had some ways to allow her body double to use magic. Yes, Zia wasn’t a show off when it came to her powers and using them all the time. In fact she preferred at times not to use them because it often just drew too much attention to her. Attention she didn’t like. But her not casting a spell here and there over time would have made not only those of her family suspicious but those outside of her family as well.

Zia had sat down with her body double to give her a brief explanation of how things were run in her family. And that her grandmother was the only one she entrusted the truth about all this too and so if the body double needed help with anything to just ask the old woman who would no doubt help her granddaughters look-a-like. She also told her of the confrontation with the untouchable family. Warning that should they make contact again to handle it discreetly and without much of the family finding out.

She handed over a list of the names of those that had recently been exiled from the family, by family law they were no longer around within feet of the compound so if they tried showing up she was to get them removed. While she could give leeway, Zia was trying to prove a point to others in the family that things were different under her command and she would not longer accept trouble caused by the family. And what would happen to those who went against how she was trying to change things for the better.

When it came to Moe, Zia like he was in the hospital would put down to visiting every two days when she wasn’t busy with her magic lessons or that she wasn’t busy with the work she was doing at the school or when he was not busy with everything that he was doing. Taking Cosima’s word about her babying her friend, the ancient woman simply patting her hand. “I understand you still feel responsible though you deny it for what happened to him. But babying him won’t make any difference in that.” The woman was still on weekly basis having a visit with Zia to how she was adjusting mentally. Which Cosima figured was coming along quite well. After the occasionally initial shock of something new Zia’s mind was handling it a lot better than she and Isolde first expected when they had seen the woman’s mind when she first arrived.

But as Isolde would point out. “She’s a young woman who had her world turned upside down in the blink of an eye. And when she finally tried to get normalcy again by going to school and working to get her own career the problems with her family had arose which once again made her drop everything and turn her life upside down again. She’s had too much stress and responsibility thrown at her along with everything else that being here and her making her own choices again and things she wants to do is taking that stress off her mind.” She was personally happy to see how well Zia was coming along. But also with Moe. She and Cosima had kept a watch on him after Isolde’s first look into his mind on how his mental state was. She only had personal contact with him a few times but she knew how it could be with some people when they were uncomfortable with her looking into their minds with a touch. While she could tone it down she never really found that off switch but over the years she had grown accustomed to it all. And it helped that those she knew personally could shield their thoughts if they wanted too from her.

Zia was finding amusement in the side effects when it came to what Moe was going through. Though it had surprised her in the beginning when she had arrived at his place one afternoon after she got off work having decided to pick up some takeout from a restaurant in town she discovered that she loved. Having him answer the door and speak, made her eyes go directly to his mouth like she was hearing him right or maybe a changeling decided to play with her again. And was more then thankful for the translation ring or else she figured she would not know a single thing he said.

Her magic lessons with Viktor had become a pain in the a** when it came to flying. Literally a pain in the a** for the amount of times she landed too roughly on her backside when she could not get the hang of flying in the beginning. It took her more than a couple of tries before she could stop properly and landing properly without hurting herself. But at least she had an embarrassing story to share with Moe whenever she visited him.

At some point, Zia got an idea about wanting to see what the Earth of this world seemed like more so her country. To which Ivonna had no problem if Zia or Moe wanted to use the door she had opened in her house for a quick visit to the planet.

The effect the news had on Moe wasn't good but wasn't terrible while he now had a power it was basically useless in his mind since no one not even the experts had a clue as to what it did and he'd never got a inkling of what it might do or if it had ever triggered. He wasn't holding out much hope that it would prove to be any thing useful even if they figured out he could sense some type of exotic particle it wouldn't mean much it was a big cost for basically no pay off. The only god thing was that he could now use his Chi powers like normal... well mostly normal being blind still limited him at least for now until he learned some more advanced skills and then he might be able to learn some skills to really compensate for his blindness.

With nothing but a lot of time he had quickly picked up mental shields and had spent hours working on them and still was unfortunately this was making it much harder to read him his body already well honed he was honing his mind even more. Fortunately it was possible to get quick reads of him when they were doing the mental imprint on him but Isodel figured in a few more weeks he would probably start to be aware of when some one was trying to read him even during the imprint.

Whe Zia asked to see Earth there was no issue to it but one. "While our house is a short cut to earth we don't want to advertise it nor do we want people using it for casual travel, so if you want to go to earth you'll have to book passage on one of the regular ships that goes back and forth at the moment the trip is twenty days one way."

India thou like she had researched had been hit hard when the meta's started to appear it had erupted into violence like many places the big damage thou hadn't been from the meta's well not so directly it had been from there fights India's cities were mostly old tightly packed fires had spread like wild fire in many whole villages had been wiped off the map all in all out of every hundred people that had been alive at the start almost thirty two had died. Fortunately in the end calmer heads had won out and people had talked things out and while some people still followed the caste system none did so publicly many of the most powerful metas had were from the lowest class. The savior of India was Guru Luke a half India half English native and while a powerful meta was a firm believer in nonviolence had had slowly won over people to his cause and got metas using there power to improve life there.

But if she wanted to go it could be arranged, one thing Zia was told was that the Zia of this earth was alive, the big difference was that this Zia wasn't a mage she was a meta thou and hadn't been able to escape her engagement that her parent's had set up for her and had been married for almost a year now. Rumor was that it was a fairly cool marriage and both Zia and her husband were under pressure to have children by there parents, her family was still in law but wasn't as clannish as her was as they weren't mages.

When she was told that there was another her on Earth. Zia had to take some time to really comprehend it all. The first questions that popped into her head was, how was that even possible? It seemed almost stranger than accepting that there were two or maybe even more possible systems that had the same planets and way of life on them. But for each world to have…well she would consider it clones or Doppelganger. It freaked her out a bit more than a changeling parading around as her for a number of years.

At first she thought that they were just pulling her leg. That was until she was shown personally the information they had gathered on this own her. Zia just stared at the screen for almost an hour until it finally set in that this wasn’t a joke after all. She looked through the pictures seeing that this her indeed looked exactly like her only she had cut her hair to her shoulders where Zia herself allowed her hair to grow to her mid-back. The only big difference she could see was how their powers were different from one another.

Finding out how it seemed even on this Earth her family pretty much seemed the same. Then again what did one expect of an Indian family? Some part of her wanted to pity the girl for not being able to escape the engagement that had been arranged for her, another part of her was envious. On this earth, her other half didn’t need to worry about out living her husband from what she saw he was also a meta. While Zia had been against the whole marrying who her parents wanted much less her entire family, Zia had never been against an arranged marriage where she would have had more say. This Zia also perhaps did not have to worry outliving any children she would possibly have. Another thing Zia found herself envious about.

If she were to travel to Earth, or more importantly India she knew she was going to have to be careful that she wasn’t spotted and mistaken for her other self. This Cosima fixed by offering her a bracelet when worn would make her disguise herself as however she wanted it too. When Zia asked if they knew about any of themselves on her planet, Isolde showed her what Arya had gathered on her own double on Zia’s planet. It made her wonder if Moe had a double on earth as well…or anyone else she knew on her own planet. That freaked her out even more.

But while it freaked her out, Zia still wanted to see this earth for herself. She wanted to see how much the India here had changed much less everywhere else in the world. There was one thing that when she started making the arrangements that she saw the others discussing on more then one occasion. Cosima firmly believed it was time they should tell the young woman about Tyriel if she was to visit earth. Claiming that man had a knack for showing up to whoever he pleased whenever it seemed convenient to him. And it was better to warn the girl first hand rather then have her surprised if he showed to approach her. No doubt surprising her if she found out he knew exactly who she was like he had done and known for Dejah and Chaen when he first met them.

Moe well the Moe of this earth was easy enough to find while Elerium wasn't found on the reservation of this world a deposit of silver was there and his parents had paid for him to go to college once he finished at the local school and was the moment still studying to becoming a engineer his dream was to design and build boats one day he had pretty good grades and was dating a girl a scuba teacher who did dive tours of the local spots. The Moe of this world had never met the Zia of this world they had moved in different circles and different places the school he was currently attending was the university of Miami.

While Meta's had appeared on the reservation the small size of there communities and there isolation meant they had caused much less damage he was a Meta a moderately powerful Chi User with some water powers he only had a average power rating thou. When it came to the matter of telling Zia about Tyriel Barachiel just looked at his wife and let out a sigh it was the truth they couldn't stop him from talking to her short of surrounding her with guards and not letting her out. "Very well tell her, better she be warned than encounter him with not warning at all. Honestly I more fear her seeking him out as so many do when they first learn of him, there is no telling what he knows perhaps even how to save her world but at what cost."

Barachiel had to wonder if Zia world had a Tyriel as well some one waiting and watching and working from the shadows, they still had no idea why he did what he did certainly they thought in plans that spanned hundreds or even thousands of years but that didn't let them see his plan. Almost always it was only after he'd done what he needed to do that they got a hint of what he'd been up to.

After reading up what they had found of the Moe of this Earth, Zia was a bit reluctant as to whether or not to share it with her friend. Thanks to what had happened to them both, but more so with what happened to him he had been denied to do what he had wanted to do. Much of which Zia had hoped to help him regain, some sort of normalcy. In the end, she just put it all aside on a table in his place when she had gone to visit him. Told him what it contained and said. “Your choice in what you want to do with it. See it for yourself or chuck it away in the trash I don‘t care what you do with it. Your choice.” She figured she would give him the choice on what he would want to do with the information of his doppelganger which was exactly what Zia was coming to call her and his double along with everyone else. But as she was saying, while she had taken the time to see about her double and his out of curiosity freaked out as she may have been. If he didn’t want to know that was his choice and she would respect it. She also gave him the option of whether or not he would want to come to Earth with her for a short while.

Once she was given the okay from her husband that Cosima approached Zia on the matter. Having the young woman sit down. Zia for weeks had the suspicion that they had been hiding something from them, just she had never pressured any of them into telling her or Moe what it was. She had remained quiet throughout the entire explanation letting Cosima say what she had come to tell her without interrupting her with questions. Waiting until the woman was done before she started asking the questions that came to mind.

After having found out and come to terms with the way that Theo had come into the world. Finding out there was a man out there made by these ancient people she had been told about in the past did not surprise her as much as it should. It was the other things she spoke about the man that interested her but at the same time it sent the warning flags up in her mind. When they had voiced their concern of what she might do, Zia closed her eyes and had to give it a good moments thought. Staying like that for a minute and a half. “It is…tempting. I will have to admit that. Truly and honestly tempting.” She nodded her head with a small purse of her lips.

“But as you said…at what cost?” She looked at them. “I had almost didn’t approach Rafe and Arya for help on the matter of the arks and my world. Believing my world was not your responsibility. And to be honest, it is not yours. It’s the responsibility of those who live on my world to do what they need to save themselves. That however does not mean I can’t…find some small way to help make things better. To give them a fighting chance.” Zia shrugged her shoulders leaning back in her seat she closed her eyes again. The temptation was strong but Zia held tight to her belief in the matter.

“Perhaps it is simply my worlds time to go. Each world has their time. Evolution teaches that with the coming and going of species and the rise and fall of empires. As sad as it may be to loose ones home…and possibly put my people under the watch of these…Not’s…then that is simply the way things will go. I can’t imagine what such a price for such a feat would be nor is it something I would be willing to pay not knowing what could become of it afterwards. For all I know saving my world from Charon could only make way for something else. One can only tamper with fate for so long.” Zia heaved a sigh and rubbed her face with her hand.

Going quiet for another minute Zia looked at them. “But I will heed your warning should he approach me. I’ll be mindful of his words.” Zia however hoped she didn’t run into the man. From just the way they spoke of him was enough to make her nerves rattle. She had more important things she wanted to see about on Earth. Cosima had given her some new ID which would allow her to travel through what they called Gates rather then take planes everywhere saying it would be much quicker and made sure the ID’s had a different surname on them to make sure they didn’t get mixed up with the Zia Mishra of this Earth.

The trip to earth was a bit dull the ship she was on was a combination cruise ship and cargo ship that made regular runs from Earth to Mars and back Theo still had to lick the issue of making a gate that could reach between Earth and Mars but it gave her time to do some studying. She'd told a few things by Viktor when she left. "You are not to try to come into contact with your double or Moe's double as you were warned precautions have been taken should you reveal that your from a second earth this includes meeting your double." He just gave her a nod and saw her off.

The gates were just one of the things that Zia would have to get used to technology had changed first with the technology the Garden had released to the world and then the technology that they used on Mars people simply wanted it. Once she had landed at the starport and passed through customs she'd taken a gate to New Dehli and could only stare at the city. Certainly she'd expected more skyscrapers but the air was some thing she hadn't expected the city had always had a certain smell about it here it was different even a country like India could afford cheap clean power that solved many of there woes not to say it wasn't messy and a bit smelly but the smell of gas and exhaust wasn't there even here cars ran on hydrogen fuel cells you couldn't find gas stations on every corner to met the need any more as the need was much less now.

India's issue was still money it wasn't a very rich country and even with many of the amazing technologies that were now available it was hard for them to upgrade or change there ways like some countries, some of it could be blamed on the old boys in power syndrome. OPEC for example had fought tooth and nail spending hundreds of millions to try to get some of the technologies blocked that would in the end break there strangle holds and cut there profits. But in the end even that failed to stop progress and here Zia was seeing the results by the time the Meta night of rage had ended and then the Neo-crusader actions India had lost almost half it's population.

"So here to see the sights?" Zia turned to answer and froze in her tracks it was Tyriel he was standing right next to her a smirk on his face he looked exactly like in his pictures all thou he was dressed like a local but was wearing a baby harness with a sleeping infant in it on his chest. She hadn't heard him come up or even sensed him do it, he just stood there grinning at her like he knew some thing she didn't. "Oh do pardon my manners I am Tyriel I am sure you were told about me, and I just had to come and see you.." He leaned in close and whispered to her. "It's not often one meets a real live alien after all." Again that knowing smirk and he winked at her and pulled away from her.

It was perhaps a bit odd but what she found scary about Tyriel was not his power as he didn't seem to have any the spells she had up said he was totally normal and seemed to have no more power than any one around her but that lack of power he just looked normal, nothing about him made him stand out but from what Cosima and the others had told her he was the most dangerous being alive on the planet to whom nothing was impossible. "Close your mouth my dear you'll catch flies, would you like some ice cream it's soy based so no cow taboo." He just turned and started walking to a lone vendor cart that advertised the tasty treat all thou no one seemed to be paying the person manning it any attention.

Zia had no temptation to meet her double or Moe’s. As far as she was concern, this Moe wasn’t her friend and this Zia while they may look alike they were all still completely different people in her mind. They had their own lives and she had no plan to step foot near them or her family in that world. They may look like them but they weren’t hers in any way. However taking the trip to India she knew was a risk given from what she researched her double lived in a house just forty minutes outside of New Delhi with her husband. So was taking precautions to that.

She had the bracelet should she need it, but at the moment had her shawl wrapped around her shoulders and head. Dressed in a simple pair of salwar pants and tunic. May not be her India but she dressed as which she would if she were home on her own. Made her fit in more then the occasional tourist she saw in the streets. Should she need to use the bracelet she would do just that. For now no one seemed to bat an eye at her.

Zia perhaps had to keep herself from showing too much surprise to the changes she saw in the city then was in her own. Completely used to what she had grown up in it was hard to imagine that this was all real even though it was. She took in everything she saw, much of the streets she knew as ones she had walked back home all her life. Yes there were many different ones added she saw but almost had to laugh at the old town market looked the same as it did on her world.

She took her time to stop at vendors to see what they had. Picking up some bangles here and there to examine then, some cloth as well. She had been lost in everything when Tyriel had surprised her. Zia had clamped her mouth shut while she let her eyes rack him over, what perhaps surprised her the most was the sleeping infant strapped to his chest. She remembered them telling her about Tyriel and the children he raised but seeing it for herself was another thing.

This man was supposed to be the most dangerous being on the planet. And yet here he was dressed like an every day local and a infant strapped to him and looked like any man she would have guessed went out for the day and had taken the baby with him while his wife handled other matters at least that was what she would have thought if she had not known who he was. While she been warned and knew there could be the possibility that he would show up the fact that he had shown up much sooner then she might have suspected put her off a bit.

When she finally found her voice again, she cleared her throat. “Yes…I suppose it would not be that often…” She did not know what to say to this man. Every instinct of what she been warned about screamed for her to just turn around and walk away as fast as she could. But given she had not even heard him come up to her told her if he wanted too he could not doubt follow her and be right back at her side before she would even know he was there again. When he asked if she would like ice cream, her eyebrow shot up. That she did not expect. Him walking away made her want to just turn and go the other way but as she thought before why when he could easily just follow her if he wanted too.

Best to face the music and simply get it over with. So with a deep breath she followed him while adjusting the shawl around her head. “If you are offering it would be rude to refuse. So yes I will have some.” She watched him carefully. “What is it that you want exactly or is this just a pleasantry visit from you. I see nothing that would strike your fancy here other then the obvious.”

Tyriel just walked up to the man at the cart who perked up at having customers. "Yes what can I get you wer have 4 different flavors today!" Tyriel just looked at the cart and then the man and then at Zia before turning back to the man. "I will have a leeche nut cone with two scoops and she will have the same but with some nuts on hers, and tell me have you sold many cones today?" The man just started to get there order ready but looked up at the question and looked around and then down at his car it was fairly obvious that business wasn't going so well for him this day. "A few your cone miss.. and for you sir."

Tyriel handed Zia her cone and took his own then reached under the baby and came out with some money and took a lick of his cone and let out a ha[[y sigh followed shortly by Zia when she sampled her it was honestly really good. "Delicious... tell you what if you pack up and hurry you can make a soccer match over at the park there lots of hungry people there just standing around waiting for a cool treat on such a hot day." Tyriel just took a lick of his cone still smirking. "Think about it!" He then turned and started walking off with Zia moving to keep pace with him staring at him and wondering like so many others why he'd just done that she knew the stories that Tyriel never lied he dealt with the truth and just that.

He just took another lick of his cone and turned to look at Zia smirking. "Hmm as to why I am doing this... do I really need a reason to met you Zia your an anomaly you could say and as I said it's not often aliens show up and I was wondering if it would be faster to kill you or let things play out." Tyriel smeared some of the soy treat onto his finger and offered it to the infant on his chest and spent the next several moments feeding it some of the soy ice cream. When Zia paused at the mention of him perhaps killing her he took a few more steps before stopping and turning to look at with. "I haven't decided yet and eat your ice cream my dear before it's melt, in a few weeks you'll be hard pressed to find any for sale it'll be so popular until he can get a larger plant set up making more healthy, delicious and stores well a taste sensation that will sweep the globe." Tyriel just resumed walking switching between eating the ice cream and giving some to the child.

"I am sure there is so much you'd like to know my dear, so I tell you what I will answer a few questions for you." He turned at her still smirking at her confused and cautious look wondering what his game was. "But there are a couple of conditions one I can refuse to answer any question and I will answer only until my ice cream is done." He gave her another smirk and took a small bite from his treat he was already almost a fourth done it. It had been mentioned to her that occasional Tyriel offered a freebie of some sort Isodel had gotten a free lesson in her powers her daughter had gotten some questions answered by the man generally the offer was for a limited time only and often it was the bait on a hook that you couldn't see.

Isodel having given up her book of prints only to have Tyriel turn around and sell them stealing it from her as it were there was always a hook even if you couldn't see it at first, but the bait was perfect he could answers questions impossible questions if she asked the right question.

Run…Run the other way and do not look back. That’s what her mind was screaming at her to do. When he mentioned about him killing her, she thought she would have died right then and there when her heart just seemed to stop and took a few seconds to get it to start beating again. Never had she wanted to run from someone in all her life, the way she wanted to get away from this man in front of her.

How could a man who seemed to help when he wanted too, or had a baby strapped to him taking careful movements with it even bothering to feed it the ice cream from his finger talk so casually about killing someone as if it was as normal as talking about the weather? But perhaps the stories she been told it probably was normal for him. She hadn’t been as scared of Jager as she was of this man right now.

Just run. Contact the others and get as far away as you can. Her mind continued to scream. But that feeling deep down in her gut still told her that running would not help her should this man choose to come after her. She had no doubt if he wanted to kill her that he could do it before she even felt anything and it would be all over with. No struggle. No pain. Just the empty void of death.

She eyed him cautiously when he told her he would answer a few questions and to which the conditions that played out for it. Yes she had many questions and things she wanted to know. But was it worth it? Zia looked at this man’s eyes as if that would give her some sort of answer but that would not be the case. If anything it just made her want to look away the first moment she made eye contact. She felt like the mouse who been cornered by the cat and was looking for any means of escape. That smirk of his made her stomach twist in a tight knot.

But if he was offering it for free, Zia would need to stop and keep her eyes open to when the offer was up. Eyeing the cone in his hand. She did not want the price to what could be something she would regret. Isolde had told her, her biggest regret with him and it still haunted the woman to that very day. So keeping her eyes on the hour glass as it were she asked. “Why am I an anomaly? Is it simply because I am different from the rest of my planet? I can’t help what an accident had caused.” She curled her fingers into her fists keeping her eyes on the cone. “Why should you kill me? I’ve done nothing.” The question was almost like a whisper on her lips that fear creeping in. She wanted to know but at the same time not know. But while she was at it she figured she ought to ask the question.

“Why are there two worlds that have the same people but so different in each way? Are there more like that out there? Is saving as many on my planet as possible truly worth it or is this some sort of test of seeing what evolves better and my people haven’t so we’re being wiped out?” For the first time since she started asking her questions she took her eyes off the cone for a moment and looked at his face before quickly going back to the cone not wanting to look at those eyes or see that smirk.

Tyriel seemed to mull her questions over before he began to speak. "Your one because your still alive not because your different the fact that you lived and sense Rafe and Ayra will change how things play out for you world." He gave her a serious look for several moments and a lick of his cone and one for the baby. "If no one and nothing interferes a lot more people from your world will live than would of. I am trying to decide if that will be a good or bad thing." At the question of was there more earth Tyriel just went from smirking to grinning. "Two thousand nine hundred and seventy three." Tyriel just let her mull that over trying to figure out what he meant then she stopped as she realized what he'd told her.

There was almost three thousand earths in the galaxy she opened her mouth to ask but he beat her to it. "And no there not all alike some are much more different only around fifty are like this earth enough that it would be confusing if you found your self on one, some are only a tiny bit different like your world some are much more different." He took another lick of his cone and resumed walking Zia saw a moped drive by hauling the cart that they had purchased the treats from heading in the direction Tyriel had mentioned it seemed the man was following the suggestion. "As for are they worth saving that's honestly up to you and the people of your world if Charon kills every one well nothing new will come ever there, as for Charon it's self it's presence is the result of a war far in the past a weapon knocked it out of it's own system and over many thousands of years it's come to where it is now it's presence is nothing more than a accident."

“So there was a possibility I could have died from that…” Zia pursed her lips at the thought of it. Then again there could have been a lot of possibilities that had come out of that accident. That meteorite for all she knew could have hit them rather then exploding at the closest proximity to them. Zia had given it thought many times in the past after she discovered what it all did to her powers. Everything that could have come of that, wondering what would have been the better of the many possibilities. But would death have truly been better? Zia didn’t think so.

As much as she hated the attention and being different she could live with it as long as she did exactly that. Live. Pulling herself away from her own thoughts she focused back on Tyriel listening to him have his say. Furrowing her brow, and narrowing her eyes a bit she looked at him. “What gives you the right to decide whether how many people survive my world is good or bad?” She clenched and unclenched her hands a couple of times over. Remembering to keep herself in check and her eyes on the cone in his hand as if it were an hourglass counting down how much time she had left to get answers to some of her many questions.

When he mentioned how many earths there were out there, she almost fell over in the sheer shock of it all. Finding two earths that were so similar and yet different at the same time was one thing. But to find out there were that many. Even if there were only 50 that were like this Earth that was still a longer number then she had expected to hear. She looked back at Tyriel when he started walking again, and while she still wanted to run while she was still a head she carefully followed along with him.

“I think everyone deserves a chance to live.” Zia shifted her feet looking at everyone she passed. Watching their faces, trying to see if she recognized any that she knew back home at this present time that she had seen in the market before. “As I said to the others, every thing does end eventually no matter what you do. You can hide, you can survive but something will be destroyed either way. If my earth must truly go. Then it will seeing as there is no stopping Charon. I’m sure if there were it would been done long ago if what you say is true about it being knocked from it’s orbit in the past.” She didn’t look at him as she talked. Instead keeping her eyes on the people they passed. Stepping aside as a group of children came bustling by and patted a few on the head as they passed.

“The others tell me that whoever made you, you said were still out there, just the empire they once had seemed to be gone into ruins. Forgotten except by a few. An empire may fall but that does not mean what remains of that empire cannot survive in some other way. If the others are truly finding ways to prolong their countdown by the Not then that is for them to do so, they could find ways to survive but that doesn’t mean everyone will or what they have worked so hard to build will survive. One must choose.” Zia shrugged her shoulders reaching up she fixed the shawl around her shoulders absentmindedly. She thought about her work and everything else. Were they worth saving? She gave that a moments thought then looked back at him.

“Let them decide if living and surviving out there is worth it. One doesn’t know unless one tries. They want to live obviously. And if they do then if I can find some way to help them it will keep me from being riddled with guilt. Whether I survive…that’s another question entirely that I do not know the answer too.”

At the question of what gave him the right to choose her worlds fate he just looked at her for a moment but he looked serious. "Well for one I can and two it might threaten a plan that has been more than a hundred thousand years in the making that will when it's done save trillions of future lives... well that is if it works." Tyriel just turned back and shrugged nothing was certain not even his plan there was always a chance it could fail, he would happily sacrifice a few hundred thousand of her people for the sake of his plan hell he would watch worlds burn for the sake of the plan it was his job and he knew what his failure would mean.

"Certainly feel free to struggle for life that's every one's right struggle or lie down and die, just some thing are harder to struggle against and who said Charon can't be stopped." At that Zia almost walked into traffic if Tyriel hadn't reached out and tugged on the back of her shirt to stop her she would of walked right into the road. "And yes they fled this galaxy for some where else once they realized that victory was impossible, I assume that by now they've either found a new place to call home and are rebuilding or have died out or perhaps still looking, I don't know which." Tyriel just kept eating his ice cream her last bit wasn't really a question more a statement and he'd already answered in a way, he just took another lick of his treat then offered it to the child there was maybe a third of it left at this point.

There it was. What the others told her to take caution with if he truly knew some way to stop the star from coming to her Earth or save her planet in any way. She stared at him for the longest moments wrapping her mind around it all, the more logical part of her was telling to quit while she was a head and just turned around and go along her merry way. The others were already helping in some sense that it would give her people a better edge but to be able to keep it from happening all together…

“Temptation. Always temptation. You are like a siren with your words and knowledge sir.” Zia looked again at the people going on. Both in vehicles and on the streets or air if they were a meta and were flying on by to beat traffic. “I said the same to the others…what’s to say if Charon is stopped…that something else won’t take it’s place?” She turned to look at him this time as she spoke looking at him for the first time since they had started walking again. “An accident as you clearly said but still that question remains. Stop Charon and then what? Does something else happen? Something worst that we can’t save ourselves from? So many questions and yet so many cannot truly be answered unless what happens does.” Zia shook her head looking off to the side for a moment thinking it all over.

What was the better path? Letting Charon come and destroy her world and her people trying to survive on the arks never knowing whether they would make it to another planet before anything could happen or to stop Charon entirely and have her people continue living as they did now. Zia could not decide she was torn at the prospect. She reached up and rubbed her face with both her hands in a moment of frustration. Dropping them only to look at the baby strapped to Tyriel’s chest. Taking a hesitant moment she reached out and touched it’s cheek with the back of her fingers. That ache inside her surfaced for only a 10 seconds before she pushed it back beneath and away from her mind. Letting her hand drop back to her side.

“I cannot fathom the price you would ask for such knowledge to stop it. And with what I been warned about I see no reason why I should ask. Because one question could be would the price paid be worth the effort? See so many questions and so little time and none I wish to pay a price for.”
