Amelia stared at Julian for a long moment, not sure what to say. She was never sure what to say and it seemed to be eating at her nonstop. She did think him a coward and yet, a part of her knew he was one of the bravest men she had ever met. She hated him for it. She hated him for being kind to her, for being respectful. She hated it more than she hated it anything. To see how moral, how kind her captors were was one of the worst things she could have ever imagined experiencing. And yet, here she was.
With a gentle voice she finally said, “Perhaps you’re not a coward but instead a fool.” Her eyes were made of steel and she folded her arms quietly across her chest. “Only a fool would defy his mad Queen for a [i[slave.” She said the last word with a bitter tongue. “That is what you’re doing, you know? Not telling her about who I am.” Amelia’s eyes fell to the floor, her grip tightening. She knew he was aware of it, it had already been established and yet she felt the need to remind him once more.
“Unless of course you’re doing it for him.” Her eyes turned towards the door and then back to Julian. “But I don’t believe you have any obligation to him just as he has none to you. Or so that is how you both have made it seem.”

Ceath looked down at his little princess, eyes bright with a smile to match. His feet followed to where she commanded without hesitation, as did his heart. “I’m sure we will be fine, my darling.” His voice was soft, careful, as he dared to call her anything but her proper title. It was frowned upon in most societies, especially when done before marriage, but he could not think of anything better to call her. He couldn’t think of any other way he’d want to address her. If only he had been back in his home with his true title could he make such a claim.
Without much realization they hit the spot in which she spoke of. Hidden by trees and covered in flowers it seemed like the perfect spot for him to woo her. He looked to her and asked, “Is this the place?” He hoped she would say so for it was beautiful beyond compare. He felt a twinge of betrayal by himself for finding it more magnificent than his own land but kept it a secret that would not leave dead lips.
