Rufus glance up but continued writing. "That did not seem to take long." he commented as nation stretched and yawned. He was normally quiet however which was a nice thing in a way.

Rena came over to Nation and showed the big cat some love, finding that spot that made her pur happily. "No, it didn't," she confirmed. "But Gun kinda took things over today," Rena said, just explaining why she was back sooner than anticipated; not that she minded. Knives needed a break, a chance to feel like her old self again and what better way to do that than with a college...no, with family. That's what the Turks were after all. A family that wouldn't hesitate to kill you, but a family none the less. ((EDITED))

Rufus nodded tapping his pen as several lines of thought crossed his mind. "What is your inturpretation of those two?" He asked. Rena would know per the handbook relationships are not permitted amongst direct coworkers. Even rena and rufus were frowned on per the book.

Rena quirked a slender brow at his inquiry. Rufus wasn't exactly one to follow the rules himself unless he made them, and even then rules were meant to be broken. "Does it really matter?" Rena asked softly, looking up at him from where she sat on the floor showing Nation some affection. She didn't really see anything more than friendship between the two Turks, but she also didn't know them as well as Tseng and the others, although she was becoming more acquainted with them. "Right now the only thing I see is one colleague trying to help another get back on their feet; to feel some sense of normalcy amidst the chaos she's enduring," she said giving her honest opinion.

he gave a single nod. "It can." was his reply to her not seeing it would matter. but he understood when someone did not want to discuss others behind their back. he watched her petting the large beast and listened as she spoke. he crossed his legs as he sat back. "If that is all then i have no need to act on any situation. do you think she will ever be up to what she once was?" she was an assassin. and a damn good one.

"I'd like to think that in time she will," Rena said softly, smiling as Nation nuzzled her hand and continued to purr. "Knives is strong but right now life has thrown her one Hell of a curve ball and she's trying to adapt to it...like you had to when you had the geostigma," Rena said putting it into a perspective he could relate to. Rufus had to adapt and readjust his life quite a bit when he got ill and it hadn't been easy. Right now Knives was having to readjust to the circumstances life had dealt her, but given time, encouragement and her own determination...Rena felt Knives could be herself again.

Rufus typed something on his tablet. The man obviously processing how own line of thought. But once done he closed it and got up to walk over to the two on the floor. "I know it is not far but i would like to take a walk around the garden." The garden was small. Maybe twenty square feet. A fountain with some rose hushes in the corner. Though with winter just being over there was not much to look at but it was fresh air.

Rena smiled up at Rufus as he came over to where she and Nation sat before giving a nod. "Come on, Nation. You heard the man," she said to the large beast whose ears perked up at the mention of going outside. Rena chuckled softly at Nations enthusiasm and she knew exactly where Shar got it from. Rena got to her feet as soon as Nation got up, the action freeing Rena's legs from where the cat had plopped down on them.

Rufus smiled softly and did offer her a hand though he was not strong enough yet to pull her up he could atleast steady her. He was also still bad at not giving orders but he atleast got the tone down of would you like to go for a walk even if that was not the words that came out. A nudge from nation however was enough to lift her to her feet. The cat puring and walking around the two of them like cats do.

The point was that Rufus was learning and Rena at least understood what he meant. He was trying at least and initiating things between them. She took Rufus's hand and smiled softly as he and Nation helped her to get upright again, Rufus was getting stronger now that he didn't have the geostigma weighing him down and while his health was not quite where he wanted to be yet, he was improving. Rena chuckled at Nation purring, she reaching down to give the beast an affectionate pat on the head and Rufus a soft kiss on the lips before the three of them went out into the little garden for some much needed fresh air.

Rufus walked and seemed glad to just take a break. his gaze would become hazzy as a sign that he wasnt rely thinking about anything other then what was around them. rather than his usual sharp gaze and stern demeanor. "Rena... what do you want to see this world become.?" he asked out of left field.

Her blue eyes blinked softly as she processed his question. It was seemingly out of left field but then again, it really wasn't. They were attempting to rebuild this world after all. Rena had been fighting most of her life for change and a better future, never knowing if she'd live to see her own future. The world was a blank slate right now, so anything was possible. The world was starting over yes but, people were essentially the same, and you could not change human behavior no matter how much you wanted to. There was something that Rufus had said to Kadaj once that stuck with Rena:

"The Lifestream courses through our planet back and forth across the borders of life and death. If that cycle is the very truth of life, then history, too, will inevitably repeat itself. So go on; bring your Jenovas and your Sephiroths. It won't matter. We'll do as life dictates and stop you every single time."

It wasn't an easy question to answer, but there also was no right or wrong response to give either. "The world is what it is...but if someone like me could have any say in it...I'd want it to be a better and brighter place for the people who inhabit it," she finally answered after giving some serious thought to the question.

Rufus smiled and gave a soft chuckle. "You're answer is warm and vague at the same time." He was walking laps around the small courtyard. just his way of stretching and pushing himself. he was curious how she thought she could do. if she had the capability of making such a change how would she start.

Rena smirked at his observations. He was right, it was both those things but it was also honest. How she would ever go about such an endeavor, Rena didn't know, but she knew people just as well as Rufus knew business, and it was a skill that proved useful. She could talk to people that others couldn't or found difficult, and she would always listen and hear someone out rather than casting them aside. "How about you?" She said after a few moments, keeping pace with him as they walked about the courtyard. "What do you want to see this world of ours become?"
