Yes. I hope some magical thing happens where he can make somewhat good music again. I'm not wishing for a mirical that his voice will drastically imrpove, but I would like not all of the songs sounding alike...

I like his new music too. I like the old stuff a lot better, but the new stuff isn't too bad. I'm really fond of Farewell, so no complaints here.

If it weren't for him, I would have never discovered MALICE MIZER. Now that I am more than well aquainted with the band as well as Gackt, I'd have to say that he was best when he was with MM. I give him brownie points for being drop-dead gorgeous and pulling up a few good love ballads, but he's such a sell-out now.

You know how when there's no news for a while, something big always happens? Like Gackt playing feudal warlord Uesugi Kenshin in the samurai drama 「風林火山」 onNHKnext year. (At least I hope that's what it says at Dears! There will be more about it on the TV news tonight, and in newspapers tomorrow~).

I don't know much about the story, but you can read about the character Gackt's playing, The Dragon of Echigo, Uesugi Kenshin,here.And there's a summary of the 1969 movie version here(& at IMDB, although I don't think it mentions Gackt's character).

It's called 「風林火山」 (fuurinkazan; translated as "Wind, Fire, Forest, Mountain", or the expression "as fast as the wind, as quiet as the forest, as daring as fire, and immovable as the mountain" wink , & will be showing on NHK from January 2007~ ^^

I'm a big Gackt fan. I figured that there had to be a thread about him around here somewhere. 4laugh

Besides the fact that I think he's gorgeous, I do indeed think he's talented. And, much like any famous person anywhere, he gets a lot of badgering from people. Duh. If I was famous, people would start making up "cool stories" about how I was anorexic and loved porn (how much truth that holds, you'll never know).

I guess, for me, his looks reeled me and the music made me stay. I've listedned to all types of arguements about how Gackt has no talent. I really think that's a matter of opinion, and very judgemental, as I see more talent in him then 90% of the pop culture in America today. True, I'm not as big of a fan of his newer stuff, but I still like it.

Blar. I wish that he was doing something new and exciting though. I really have nothing new to say about him. But a large part of that is also due to the fact I can't read Japanese too, I suppose.

One question, and sorry if it's been asked before, but has anyone else heard the rumor that he is retiring next year?

WOW that's nice xd . Sounds like hes doing a movie in 2007, I don't know about retiring. I have to admit I like his old stuff alot better, but the new stuff is good to biggrin .He might return to his old voice never know whats going to happen to him these upcoming days, and months biggrin
