From the producers of the popular event Gaia Spirit Week over the summer comes Winter Break! Some of you might remember we tried out a Winter Break event in the past, and we decided to bring it back this year! It isn't quite like Gaia Spirit Week, so be sure to look through the thread to see what the event is really about.

It's a battle of the beverages! During the holidays, what do you like to have a cup of while doing festivities? Well, now it's time to pick a side for our winter battle. Pick one of the four drinks as your team, but be sure to stick with it! Don't like any of them? Well, you can still hang out with us, or maybe join one that is lacking people...you could even join the same team as a friend! This battle is all for the spirit of fun and maybe a tiny bit of bragging rights, so try your best!

The four teams are: Team Cocoa, Team Eggnog, Team Milk, and Team Cider

The actual battle works like this;
Every single user will have 1 dice roll per day, starting December 15th, ending December 21th (in other words, you can have a total of 7 dice rolls for the event). However, if you can't make it online for one of the days, the roll does not carry over. A day begins and ends based on Eastern Standard Time.

In the post itself, please mention what team you're a part of, and roll one 20 sided die. We'll be keeping track of what team everyone is on, so don't team-hop! If we notice team-hopping, we simply won't count your roll. Also, only use the dice roll action once a day and DO NOT delete your posts to re-roll. It's not very sporting and it kind of ruins the fun. If we notice a page has less than 15 posts, we will have to ask everyone that did a dice roll action on that page (and possibly the page before/after that page) to re-roll, since it would be difficult to know who the culprit was. That means you give people a chance to get a better roll for their own teams too, so just don't do it, okay?

Everyone loves getting presents, so for Winter Break, we've decided to host a massive gift exchange with the name of the Secret Santa event. The only requirement to receive a gift is that you give one in return. To participate in the event, just follow the steps listed below. They're quite simple, really.

One) Choose a present to give.We're setting a minimum of 5,000 gold. Also, if you decide to give a very valuable gift, please keep in mind that you will probably not receive a gift of equal value in return. Not everyone can afford to give away expensive items.

Two) Click on your chosen present, then click on 'give as gift.' Choose your wrapping paper; anything goes. Then send your gift along to 'I r Spirit Week.' Also, make absolutely sure that you do not send the gift anonymously! This is very, very important. If you want to participate, please send your gift no later than 11:59PM on December 20th.

Three) This is our part. We receive every wrapped gift, all of which will sit in I r Spirit Week's inventory until December 22nd when we redistribute them. Upon receiving a gift, we enter the giver's username into our handy dandy notepad, forming a giant master list of everyone who is participating.

Four) On December 22nd, wait patiently while we redistribute the yet-unopened giftboxes. Once you receive your gift, open it up and enjoy the happiness that comes with getting a present!

Simple, right? So participate! Events are always more fun with more people involved, and who doesn't want to get a present?

An important, final note: please only send in one gift!

[{ Avatar/Tektek Contest }]
This time around, we're opening up the possibility of using Tektek for the avatar contest! Send in avatars based on the following themes. The gold limit will be 10mil. The themes aren't dedicated to any particular day; just send them in by December 21st at 11:59PM and we'll announce the winners some time on the 22nd/23rd

I'll Drink To That - Make a tektek avatar based on the drink team you are rooting for. You can either represent the drink itself, or build a look that holds your chosen beverage of battle. [Just in case you missed it or weren't sure, the beverage choices are Cider, Cocoa, Eggnog, or Milk]

Holiday Feast - The theme for this tektek contest is PUPPIES FOOD! It's time to incorporate what you like to eat, either around the holidays or as something year-round. You can have the food item in your avatar and build around it, more make the tektek look as close to the food iteself as you can. Make sure there is plenty to share!

Walking in a Winter Wonderland - This theme is based around snow! It can be anything from activities done in the snow, how you dress in the snow, how the snow makes you feel.. anything! Hate the snow? Okay, show that! Love, love, love it? Show us that too! Just have snow represented somehow.

Bringing in the New Year - Show us with a tektek avatar how you like to celebrate the start of a new year (or the end of the old one). Do you drink the bubbly or get yourself wired with a bunch of sugar? Spend the time with friends and family or sleep right through the countdown? Give us a peek on what you do while the ball drops!

Unlike in GSW, team competition will be a bit different for this event. Since there are only four teams for this event, only one can win! The criteria for this is what was mentioned in the Beverage Dice Duel post; basically the team with the most points wins.This competition ends on December 21st.

[{ Raffle }]
We have decided to run easily the most cliche contest; a raffle. Want to enter? It's easy. One ticket costs 100 gold. Just send I r Spirit Week a trade request with the proper amount of gold. You know, 100 gold for one ticket, 200 for two, et cetera. You can buy as many raffle tickets as you want! Title your trade request 'I Wants Raffle Ticket Now'. We will assign you a random number and then, at the end of Spirit Week, we'll hold a random drawing using the random number generator. Don't worry about getting the numbers for your tickets, we keep track of it for you. Disclaimer: You can only win a maximum of one prize in the raffle contest. The Raffle Contest will end at 11:59PM EST on December 21st, and winners will receive their prize some time on sunday. So be sure to send in a trade any time before that!

This is a contest that will occur within the thread at random times throughout the week, and starting at the top of an hour. Basically, I r Spirit Week will post a question, and you must quote the mule with an answer! The first person to get the question right will receive a point. The round of questions will end after someone reaches 3 points. The trivia rounds will have a theme (for example, John Trivia). This means that we might as a question about a famous John, or the answer will contain John in it, or the question will generally be about a John.

Q: Wait, so we're not dressing up this time?
A: You can dress up based on your team, or based on the holiday/winter season, but there are no official "day" themes. So you can dress up however you'd like!

Q: What time zone do we follow?
A: Since most of the moderators are in Eastern United States, the official event time is the Eastern StandardTime Zone. You can use this time converter for help!

Q: I want to help out! Can I donate anything?
A: Donations are fine, but definitely not required! Gold is preferable, but we'll accept whatever you'd like to donate. Just be sure to label the trade!

Q: Is there no GSW next year?
A: If all goes as planned, there will still be a GSW next year. This event is not a replacement, this is just something extra
