In terms of sort of being a floater and sort of buying things here and there, this is what I sort of go by:

60k and under - You're broke. You should spoil yourself and get a cheap RIG item that you like.

70k-120k - Oh boy, you're doing well. Try a bit of gambling in the casinos, or maybe vend some small items, or just buy an MC.

200k-400k - HOOOOLD YOUR HORSES, GIRLY. Don't go spoilin' that haul. You should probably vend and get more. CONSERVE, WOMAN, CONSEEEEERRRVE.

500k-800k - Neatsos, but not there yet. Keep vending/gambling.

1M-2M - HUZZAH, YOU GO GURL. Now vend. You're somewhat wealthy, at best.

5M-8M - Set your worries aside for a few months/weeks; by the middle class standards, you're well off.

50M-100M+ - dude, stahp. stahp. u be a venduurrrr/exchangurrrr/hoardurrr. ur set 4 lyf.

Ranges are not specific because it's kinda grey.

The point of Gaia gold for me is to pillage Gaia's artists for art I can use whenever I want and items I can use repeatedly. Does gold really mean anything specific to you? Or more simply put, is it true that hardcore vendors/exchangers/investors forget about the value of gold and just vend to see the number climb higher?

If you're going solely on account worth, I'd say anywhere above 400 million in total worth is upper class rich. There are people on Gaia worth billions too, which is either to do with very old collectibles, exemplary exchanging prowess, doing high level alchemy or a combination of all three.

Upper middle class would start at like 200 mil in overall worth. Most people are in the lower-middle class range from 10 mil to 200 mil. Though that's just on account worth, and it's just my assessment of things. It's hardly anything concrete, just founded on my view of item worth and all that stuff. It's really not that hard to gather about 5-10 mil in account worth these days though.

There isn't really any accurate way to measure this, unless there's a statistic count that Gaia does and gives the information, so accuracy can't really be an issue. You're assuming just as I am, though I never went so far as to say how many actual users there are in any given category. I agree with your numbers as an estimation, but I don't think 5-10 mil is upper middle class. It's still going to be in the middle for me. Upper middle would probably be around 25 mil or something.

I think this is just the wrong place to ask XD;;; the average GCDer is above average at the very least and at least I think I'm super poor compared to other GCDers and super new to Gaia, I see a lot of this lol, I mean four years in this site and I'm still considered a newbie in the GCD, we kind of have impossible standars XD;;;

As for who I think is "rich", people who have more gold than me and can easily buy overpriced dolls without second thinking or regretting ux u would be nice <3

I'm genuinely curious where you got those figures from. As far as I can tell, there's never been any particular way of telling average user wealth, unless they decide to tell you themselves. ^ ^

OP, you actually don't need a lot of gold to look nice. When it comes to buying stuff, it really depends on what kind of person you are. Some people like to have one really beautiful avatar with a lot of premium items, and other people like to be able to change a lot. I'm totally someone who likes to change their outfit a lot, so when I started out, I picked out a few favourite premium items that I wanted (full EIs can be nice for this, with a variety of outfits, accessories, eyes & wigs), and bought plenty of goldshop things. I'll point you to this thread, where people made outfits for 10k and less. Tektek can be awesome, but it can also be a huge trap in that you'll suddenly wonder why your outfit now costs 200 mil.

GCD is kind of like the country club of Gaia- people who are here have been on the site for a while & tend to be fairly well off. With my 2008 join date & ~100 mil account worth, I feel like a poor newbie in here sometimes, even though I would imagine compared to most of the site (even the active members), I'm a fairly well established, moderately well-off user.

You don't get rich overnight though & you shouldn't expect to. There's lots of site features that earn you gold, find one or two that you like & have fun! Hopefully you can make some friends in the process & friends are more awesome than shiny items (well... at least most of the time xd ). If you're talented with a pencil or a tablet, you can consider earning gold through selling art or graphics, and if you have the patience & aptitude, you can look into how to earn gold from vending, exchanging or hoarding. If you have some spare money & are happy to use it, you can always pick yourself up something nice using Gaia Cash, but there's no need to do so. There is no 'good amount' of gold to have, or account worth, and I think part of the enjoyment of getting items is working hard to obtain them. I mean, it's nice when people give me things, but I also have a strong fondness for items I worked really hard to get, whether they were 10k or 10 mil, as I remember putting in all the devotion at the time.

Damn. I always assumed that it meant upper class, poor word choice on my part.

But yes, These were just rough guesstimates that I based on the marketplace averages.

The 400+ tier however was not, that was a projected growth stat made back in 09, based on average user revenue generated.

This may also be wrong though, since there has been a considerable amount of change to methods and inflation rate since 09.
