However, that's an insane amount of gold for any user to have...

Would you feel better if I told you I lost a billion four times before i got to that amount?

When I started I just wanted so many items. Sometimes its hard to look and not spend but than I remember there might be an item I really want down the line so I don't spend..

Mostly, I use the mp. I skip the middle man.

Losing the gold is the first part of making the gold. You make mistakes and you learn.

For me it is:

Filthy rich: Anything over 100.000.000
Rich: 50.000.000 - 100.000.000
Upper Middle class: 10.000.000 - 50.000.000
Middle Class: 1.000.000 - 10.000.000
Anything under that is poor


It used to be special when you hit 1mil. But that is so easy nowadays.

Assuming we're going by wealth (as in value of inventory through sites like tektek or painstakingly long addition through the MP)

I'd say:

<15mil = poor
15-30mil = lower middle class
30mil - 50mil = middle class
50-70mil = upper middle class
70-100mil = Rich
+100mil = John D. Rockefeller
1bil or higher = Seriously, you need to reconsider your life and priorities.

Gold as an asset is hella easy-come easy-go, so I'd advise just picking out some stuff you want and then saving up for it, rather than worrying about how much gold you oughta have in your account. Items are the fun part of the site, after all.

The amount of gold I have, for instance, waffles between zero and a million from month to month. This fusses me not at all, because I am slowly creeping up on an inventory of 3,000 items. It's allllll about the stuff.

First one: Save as much gold as you can. How can you do this?

Buy items you love and KEEP THEM! In other words build up your invo. Commons, mcs, ies, ais, and even event (did I miss some items here?)

Second: Invest invest invest! play the market. Learn the market.

third: Games games games AND GAMES!

fourth: Trash: Yes it can give you gold.

fifth: Supplement if you can with GC.

Mostly consider what you want before you go out to make the gold. What are you're goals? Do you want to be rich? Or just enough items that you do not need to buy every time you want to make an avi?

My goal was to get enough items just so I can make an avi any time I want to.

The sixth thing is to post. You get old like that too.

Trying to think on what else I did. I know when I was a younger gaian I played cards.

Last advice? DO NOT BE OTHER PEOPLES BANK WHEN THEY BEG for it.

Other advice to get the gold.

Sell your art, banners, and what ever else you can do. Drawing avis and other art can make a person really rich.

It's hard to gauge what's considered rich or poor. Just because someone has a flashy avatar doesn't mean there rich. They could have spent all there gold on that avatar. If someone looks poor, they could just be saving up for there dream avi. You can make really super cute avi's for 150k or less. I would suggest making a dream avi, then you can see how much you need to save. Also you could try getting some basic staple pieces, like jeans that you could intertwine with some more of the pricer items to make something cute. Making a wishlist does help, too.
If you want to make some extra gold try going around towns and pick up some trash, flowers, and bugs.

Basically... rich is a relative term. Someone will probably always have more and some will probably always have less.

As long as I can get the items and art I want I don't really think about gold. If you like your sanity I'd suggest not thinking too much on the topic XD
