The only possible upside I am seeing right now is that there are more starter skintones (FINALLY, ONE MORE SHADE OF BROWN AND I DONT EVEN HAVE TO BUY IT.) but the execution is still supes clumsy and the way the avatars looks leaves a lot to be desired? (I mean, it's not terrible but it's not exactly fun to dress them right now and the body types are almost as limited as Gaia's have been since the biggest body type for women isn't really as thick as it could be.)

After having been on Tentacl since it started, and logging in at least once a week, it isn't terrible.
It does get boring after 10 minutes, and I always cringe at the avatar's bare feet and the largest female bodytype's breasts (they stick out like shelving... emotion_facepalm ), but there's not much inherently wrong with it. Content from the NSFW group doesn't show up on the homepage anymore, which is nice.
I find Gaia still infinitely better, though. lol

I think it's a fine "whenever you have literally nothing else to do" thing, but it's not something I'd check or go on daily, like I do with Gaia. I especially wouldn't spend any money on it.

Also, it's kind of sad how the Gaia items they recently released STILL look better here than there.
I honestly expected painted ones to look... well, nicer.

Not saying they were done poorly, they just lack something the pixel ones have...

I dunno if it's been posted before, but I just found Tentacl as an offer on the GPT site Gifthulk. If you don't know what that is, think GC cash offers, except the site lets you cash out for giftcards or Paypal money. In this case, they are paying people roughly 28 cents to sign up for Tentacl. It's not a bad payout, but the fact that they are paying for new users makes it feel so sad.

My question is why did they made that site that would act like 4chan and not fix Gaia with all the problems we have now?

what's 4chan? eek

Hygienic Lunatic

Lol that was a gaia site? I got an email from them and though it was virus laden porn spam. Tentacle and 18+ site really doesn't seem like a good idea imo

Most of the items are just traces of photos - that's why a lot of them look so inconsistent and trashy.

I completely agree! This would have been a big hit - I feel- if there was a virtual world attached. Not only a virtual world but a way to transfer your gold and cash over to the new site. It seems only fair considering that most of the older crowd like myself have been utilizing Gaia for years and it always seems so overrun with children x.x;. We should be able to graduate.

I'm confused with their plan of action.. I know it's beta, but if this 18+ community they're promoting is for the older players on Gaia they should realize we are way too greedy (and too devoted) to our accounts here to just drop everything and start over..

Or at least I am. xd

So in terms of "graduating", I don't see the logical progression with that.. Assumptions aside though, I believe they are aiming for something exclusive and brand new. In my experience young people and adolescents always find their way in places they aren't supposed to be. And being affiliated with the largest and probably youngest (demographic wise) forum on the internet will make it near impossible to maintain an exclusively mature crowd...

I might be missing something, but hordes of 13ish year olds flooding a NSFW forum that's intended for 18+ Is a problem I could see happening. Hope I'm not being a Debbie downer, but I'm just trying to play devil's advocate on this one :p

Having just checked out Tetacl due to this thread, it seems like my opinion is about the same. I might make an account there and check it every so often when I need a giggle or what not. It's the same thing I do with 4chan.

Mind-boggling Mage

Signed up.

Looked around.

And it's pretty awful so far. xd

But I'm not giving up on it. Maybe it'll get better once more people sign up. I'll have to check in every once in a while, when I've nothing better to do.
Wow, this is actually pretty awesome.
Yeah, I don't really care about the avatars on that site. But then again, I stopped caring about avatars on Gaia since 2011 or so.

What I like about the site is that there are actually people that are my age. I'm 24 and getting sick and tired of constantly running into 15 year olds on Gaia. I honestly feel like a creep and I want to socialize with people who are in college or have graduated.

So yeah, definitely gonna give the website a try.
