I don't like the Fafnir color scheme either. It's like it tried to be our beloved King's colors but couldn't make the cut.

I dunno, I don't personally care for either of those items so I can't really offer an opinion. When I want to recolor stuff I just go for stuff I like. *slides a hand through my avie's hair*

Lol. OMG! I didn't link those items as the ideas for recolors! I used them as color references! rofl

Have you considered Royal Magical Realism for either combo (Checkmate or Horizon)? With Horizon the couch can be in the ivory and the rest of the item can be in the two blues of the combo. The magic flame in the hand can be in the light blue and since the hair is a gradient in the original you can do the hair in the same gradient horizon hair is used with the "bows" either in the darker Checkmate blue to contrast the lighter blue or in Ivory. It could be a very interesting recolor of a nice elegant item.
