Doryan went to the sink to splash some water on his skin - it didn't help much but it at least offered some temporary relief from the stinging. that done, he gathered up his materials, found a step ladder, and sauntered over to the stage area. He didn't want to seal up the painting behind the bar just yet - he wasn't sure if Nyx was quite done with it yet, and besides, she'd told him to let her know when he intended to work on it - but there was no reason not to get the rigging for the stage backdrops set up now.

The job really wasn't hard - A simple rigging mounted to the wall, with a hook attached to a pulley system that could be moved across the width of the wall, and one that stayed fixed. Pull the movable hook over to the fixed one on the end to remove or replace a painting, then slide it back across to unfurl a new back drop. He gave the pulley a few experimental tugs to make sure it was firmly in place, then dusted his hands off on his jeans and climbed down from the ladder. He swept up what little mess there was from the simple job, then stowed away the sealer and extra parts with the rest of his supplies. The canvas he left out by the counter, however, for Nyx to find whenever she came in. That bit of work done, Doryan stretched again and then headed upstairs to his room. With no one around and nothing left for him to work on, he may as well just take a nap.

The next day Nyx xould be found at one of the many tables. She was sitting with her ankles crossed, head bent low over her sketch book for the gods only knew how long. The side of her right hand was shiny and dark with graphite, her fingers too as she worked - she honestly liked the smudges and fingerprints that appeared in her sketches. The visual impression of the artist's hands in their work always made it feel more sincere to her. The day had been quiet, and she had the windows open to let in the warm air and a light breeze. She'd taken note of the rig Doryan had begun for her canvases, so now she was trying to decide what to put on them. Chances are anything she sketched wouldnt be it, but she simply kept playing with ideas. Art aside, she waited patiently for any of her staff to appear, or a customer to walk in.
