~The Silver Sunset Cafe~

[Agaru~Mela]

*Aura pulled and old, thin leather-bound book from the shelves. The gold letters of the title were so faded that the title wasn't discernable from the front cover. She went to the table and opened the cover carefully, turning pages as her eyes move over the old text.*

*He smiles and as a purple portal opens behind him with what appear to be stars littered throughout the portal. He falls into the portal and it closes shortly after he enters. Another portal appears behind Silent and a foot comes out of the portal kicking Silent in the butt setting her off balance.* 'Scuse me love coming through *He steps out of the portal before it vanishes lightly attempting a spinning elbow to the back of her head.*

*Aura walked up to the inn. She'd been gone a long time, spending time with her kids in Exile and working with the shapeshifters in their village. She smiled as she pushed open the door and entered.*

*Aura wondered around the cafe, it was much as she remembered it to be. Silent was doing a good job of keeping it up, since Knil had left the place in her care.
Sometimes it seemed like it was just yesterday that they'd all been at the cafe, laughing and enjoying the day, and there were days when it seemed as if it were another lifetime that Grat and Knil, and Raven and all the others had been there challenging each other and fighting old battles. Ayano purred softly swishing a tail at Aura's chin.*
I know Ayano. I can't stay long, but coming back here is sometimes like coming back home. I missed this place while I was away. I'm glad to see it again. I'm glad that it's still here. Even if there's a layer of dust on everything. Go back to the village, I'll clean up and be along shortly.
*Ayano grumbled and jumped off Aura's shoulder, heading out the door quietly.*

*Aura got out the broom and in short order swept both the second and the first floor of the cafe. She dusted the shelves and mopped every floor space, even the rooms upstairs. With practiced skill she wiped down the counters, shelves, tables, chairs and any surface that hadn't been touched by the mop. She even cleaned "the Room" but did so quickly, that place kinda gave her the creeps with all that had happened there.
By the time she was done, the cafe was sparkling and she was coated in dust. Aura smiled and walked out of the cafe to brush the dust off her clothes, she came back in and put away all the cleaning supplies where she'd found them.
After a quick look at the clock, Aura sighed. She had to get back to the village. Her son was going to be waiting for her. Echo and Lily had stayed in Exile for princess lessons and Adrian had come back with her but was spending time with Kyra until he got bored with watching her mix herbs. With another sigh she walked out of the cafe, casting a glace at it over her shoulder as she headed down the path. She'd missed this place. After the closing of Black Lunar she needed a place to call home every now and then, and Silver Sunset filled the void that Black Lunar had left. She hoped that this place would never close.*

*Aura poked her head in the door, looking around and seeing nothing. She headed out and walked away. She'd come back later, maybe use the battlefield and have a mock-duel with her kids.*

*Aura walked toward the cafe from the woods. She stopped at the edge of the battlefield and looked at the cafe, still standing where it had for the years it had been there. She smiled wistfully. Now that Silent was married and she herself had kids, she had little time to spend at the old place. She missed it. She missed the adventure. She even missed the heartache and the hard times. They had spent so much time there. All of them had a portion of their lives carved into the small cafe. Aura sighed and walked away. No one was there at the moment. She'd return when they were there.*

*Aura poked her head in the cafe. Upon seeing that no one was there, she sighed and headed into the library. She didn't want Silver Sunset to die like Black Lunar had. It was a place she knew as her home. She'd never really had one of those before and if it died too, she wasn't sure what she'd do.*

*The library was always a nice and quiet place she enjoyed often. She loved the smell of old books. Places like this were a fond and early memory she treasured.
Elisa had been a human raised by elves and well versed in their ways. The written word was a mass part of her life until she'd started running tasks for the Council that had, in the end, cost her her life. But Aura had picked up on that same love of books, and libraries drew her in.
She smiled and ran her hand along the spines of the books. With a soft smile she walked out of the library and into the cafe above. Since no one was there she ventured into the kitchen and made herself a cup of tea, setting down at the bar she let it cool for a bit while she looked at the old place.*

The cafe was quiet and while her kids were otherwise occupied with their schooling and training, she was also busy with Kyra and Adrian. That boy was a bundle of curiosity and seemed very interested in the medicines and cures Kyra worked on as a healer for the village. She was quite skilled and he was picking up quick. Kyra was enjoying the company and the help so Aura let Adrian learn from her what he would.*

*Aura sipped her tea as she looked about the old place. She wondered if Silent was still running it or if she was taking a break. Aura didn't blame her, Silent was married and had a new life ahead of her now. Aura had her kids and her husband to think about so she couldn't always be here.
But she truly loved this place. She loved the adventure and even the sorrows that had happened here. She remembered so much of it. And she loved it all dearly.*

*Aura finished her tea and walked back into the kitchen to make herself another cup. She was feeling calm and with everyone occupied she had a lot of free time to think and do two things she enjoyed: read and enjoy a hot cup of tea.*

*Aura casually read the book, sipping her tea. She was enjoying the quiet and the peace and being able to do something that she'd learned from her mentor and best friend, a love of books and reading and knowledge.*

*Having finished her book and the tea, she headed into the kitchen and washed out the cup, setting it in the strainer to dry. She wiped down the counters and collected the book to return it to the library below. She loved the books Knil had. And she enjoyed reading from the old volumes.*

*Aura slipped the book back into it's place on the shelf and headed back out. She would come back soon. She loved the cafe. She even thought of starting her own some day. She only hoped it would be as fine and wonderful as this one.*
