I hate the words "You do not understand" when used in an argument.
It is as if the arguer has a full spectrum of emotions that the other does not and it is belittling.
Empathy while difficult in certain situations is not impossible and while we all have our own emotional limitations it is not impossible that the other does understand.

Oh, definitely! It's implicitly putting themselves over others, and when coupled with things like zooming in onto small specifics of the argument vs. the whole argument, it takes a lot of energy from my end to keep my cool and try to argue logically.

There's a recent national library scandal thanks to our gov pulling out all "controversial kids books", and the public outcry has been... Pretty bad ><. Since my friend is working in that gov department, she needs external help to do damage control through publicities and events... She's a good friend of mine for a decade, so I agreed xD

M-my night went way too long @ @;; I d-drove a friend home from medieval fantasy society a-and ended up staying over there for dinner a-and homework b-because I didn't feel awake enough t-to be driving safely > <;; S-so I got home at 1am i-instead of 6:30pm.

You can do it! And it is really nice of you to agree. It has to be hard to face an opposing position in such a touchy subject because what is controversial is definitely an opinionated thing.

I hate that feeling! Especially after I have had a beer because if pulled over they would do a breathalyzer and all of that hassle when one beer does not put me over the limit

But my friend has been pulling overtime every single day (and she's on call during weekends) and she just looks so tired... And since I'm still on a break now, might as well help her :/.
