Her issue is windows 8.1.
Windows messed up the wifi connection on the update for most people who got it.
I had windows support tell me "Go back to windows 8"
I did finally fix the problem without going back to windows 8 only took 2 days with trial and error thinking it was fixed when it was just delayed.
The point of my questioning was troubleshooting. Determining the exact issue.
While doing any kind of tech support, you never assume you know what the problem is. In this format, you ask questions to determine the cause of the problem. With physical access to the machine, you observe the behavior and how, if it does, change when you make changes.
Yes, we can assume Windows 8.1 had some issues because of some wireless communications issues reported in some computer models...but that doesn't guarantee we're correct. Also, going back to Win8 from 8.1 isn't a solution...it's a band-aid fix. It will work and allow someone to get by...but doesn't actually resolve the issue.
I'm also not the only one asking the questions.
