Does any one know what % of all hard drives produced are corrupt, and or prone to break down within the first 1 year of use?

er.. no that's why I posted this thread....I've had about 3 falty hard drives in the past 2 years... 2 of them in the last 6 months... and I think I just got another... ick!.

YAY!...I posted this thread mainly because I thought another one went bad...turns out the power cable cam lose, but I'm still wondering how may stop working.

I have a Western digital 80 gig 10,000 rbm hard drive and 2 samsung hard drive and 1 maxtor 30 gig hard drive

Same sung and maxtor are good brands. and Western digital if you are willing to pay a bit more but if you go with WD id get a 10,000 rpm one

The first was 2 years old the other 2 where brand new.
