YAY Did you get a touch or type cover?

They are called touch/type covers because they fold up and look like a little cover xD

What do you need the laptop to do? Do you prefer Intel or AMD? You said i5 so I assume you prefer intel

looks decent is there one for video editing and web page designing? Also what are the main differences on the pro and Rt? Is it a big deal?

With your price range it is hard to get anything SUPER AWESOME for video editing but I would say this one : http://www.frys.com/product/6897006?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG

Because the price is good and its an i7 with an Nvidia card. Most laptops will have integrated video and its s**t. And it comes with 6GB DDR3 which is still good but it maxes out at 8GB while the other maxes out at 16GB.

I will tell you this though, personally I would avoid brands like Acer, Dell, and Toshiba. Acer has a bad habit of limiting their products and making it so they cant be upgraded at all. Dell does something similar but instead makes it so only THEY can upgrade it and charge you money for it. And Toshiba just doesnt make very good laptops in my experience. I had one that used to over heat alot and they dont have the best reviews. I would honestly suggest HP , ASUS, or Fujitsu even. I currently have this:

http://www.amazon.com/HP-dm4-3050us-14-0-Inch-Screen-Laptop/dp/B006OEL8FC#productDetails

It works great for what I need it to do but it can't really play games or anything due to the Intel graphics. I do web design and programming on this computer. You don't need anything fancy for Web page design.

I wouldnt suggest the Surface Pro for Video Editing. It has one of those lame Intel integrated video. And its only 4GB RAM with a small HDD. So you would need an external HDD. Which is fine but I don't think it would be able to handle video editing well. The Pro is great for things like work and school and so is the RT but the Pro allows you to install programs outside the Windows 8 app store. now that being Said about the rt and pro, is it a big deal the apps you're able to get in/outthe store. compared to the rt which cannot ?

You get the same apps for RT and Pro. But the Pro can also download and install normal programs while the RT cannot. It always comes down to what you wanted to use it for. If you just wanted the surface to play with / do some work in Office then the RT is great. If you wanted it for a bit more then the PRO is better just because it allows you to install non MSFT applications.

I use my RT for school and play. It comes with a FULL version of Excel, Word, and PP ( i think onenote as well ) 2013. I have written 10 page papers on it before lol .
