“Awake, arise or be for ever fall’n.”

A gust of wind played with his hair as it tumbled over his shoulders and tickled the bare parts of his skin. The caramel hot chocolate lingered on his tongue that when he finished both he went back inside and got a second cup, much larger than the first. He deep breath in that his mind had almost calmed down to a normal rate. It was odd to probably see the guy like this when he was usually all over everything, literally, everything. At that moment his heart rate speed up and he felt eyes on him. He looked up only to see a normal mass of people walking by. He held the cup up to his nose and inhaled as his eyes narrowed. His body wouldn't let it go and he began to head in the direction the eyes had come from. There was no possibly way of picking out who it was because they were long gone but for all he knows the person could be waiting for him.
He checked the tiny timer again, but still nothing. Maybe his insanity was too strong for anybody to handle, that or he was in the wrong city and his person was halfway across the world, or even on a different planet. He stopped in his tracks making a woman in a hurry bump into his back. She started to apologizes but the low growling in her voice made her stop dead in her tracks and she quickly scurried away like a little mouse who was dinner for a lion. He watched her go before she was out of site and he started his saunter walk up again.
About half a block down he had finished the second cup of hot chocolate and threw it in the nearest trashcan and continued walking only to take several steps backwards. A bookstore, and it looked like a secondhand bookstore, which was even better. He watched as people darted about trying to pass him only to enter a shop that was next door. It took him a total of three minutes just to be able to grab the handle of the door. Then another minute before he closed the door behind him because so many people kept hitting him with there bags. What's wrong with this world.
A little crazy in the eyes he took a deep breath in and his mouth feel open. Why had he never seen this store before? This place had the most amazing feeling ever. Dull light, old wooden floors. This was Lucifer's heaven, well that and maybe having a few man sex here and there but still. A woman behind the counter looked up, her eyes looking him up and down like she was scanning him before looking back down. Did he pass? He stared at her for a little while longer and when she didn't move her head, but only her hand he released the door handle and took his first step fully into the store. He should get a job here.
Shelves upon shelves of new and old books sat happily together waiting for just the right person to pull them off and carry them home. Lucifer could spend hours here and not even see the whole place. He would take every single book that had an interesting name down from the shelf and just sit and read it. He could spend nights here. A secondhand bookstore was like the Louvre for Lucifer. He waltz around the first floor of the bookstore just feeling spines and sniffing really old books just to make himself melt a little. A few books he pulled off the shelf in complete interest, but put them back feeling bad. He didn't need more books but, no one could ever have enough books.
Eventually more eyes reached his back and he turned. The woman had been stalking him for a while now, that he couldn't really handle it. "May I help you?"
The woman jumped like she wasn't expecting him to actually say something to her. But her eyes narrowed, "Making sure your not going to destroy any of these books!"
She snapped. Lucifer drew back a little in shock but shook his head. "Destroy these? That would be like a sin to a Christian for me."
Her eyes relaxed a little, then she slowly completely released the tension, her eyes becoming soft. "You sound like someone else I know who recently just entered. I have no idea where he went but you two should get together." She gave him a large smile. "Take your time."
He gave her a nod. "Thanks..." "I think." He added in his head. She crept him out a little. She was like an eagle or a cat. Something predator that ways stalking her pray. He fidgeted a little trying to get the feeling off of him. "Not to self: Don't get on this woman's bad side." She had claws and teeth and she was not afraid to use them.
By the time he was finished with the first floor he had to resist taking them home and made his way upstairs to the second floor. The place was kind of empty but he didn't mind as he glided down each row of the bookshelves. His hands began to fiddle around with his hair and eventually he pulled the ribbon out of his hair and retied his hair up into a sloppy bun as he began to creep closer to the mythology. Collections of Egyptian Myths, Greek, Roman, practically any religion that had Myths were there.
One book in particular caught his eye. It had a very old binding to it. The cover was withering away, showing the original thick binding material for it. Gold stitches gleamed in the light at the right angles. He hesitated, debating if he should look at it or not. He feared he would cave in and never put it down. But curiosity got the best of him and he reached for the book that was calling his name softly.

There is an excitement about having nightmares.
