+++Dzan had cut a bloody bloody swathe through the Hulkers that had come through him. His armor was dented and ripped in places. Blood poured freely from wounds that the Cyberpunk didn't even realize he had. All because the daemon had him in its grasp. Dzan's mind knew he was there and what he was doing, and it was because of that that the hits would be taken even more often. The lurching steps would be Dzan trying to take full control over his body once again, but it would be a hot minute. Dzan ignored all the shouts of warning and everything else as the daemon would lunge forward, roar out, and even gut people like pigs. At the current moment anyone that came within the range of that chainaxe would be turn asunder and cast aside like the bags of flesh they were.

+++However, it would slowly be seen that Dzan was gaining more and more control. His wounds were healing, a thing that rarely happened under the daemon, as Dzan's subconscious would activate the Healing Cell that was buried beneath his breast bone. A cybernetic implant that Dzan had implanted within his frame years ago as he was a kid. He'd then draw more upon the power of the antimagic gem that was buried within the depths of his right arm. The arm that would help stumble up the daemon that had taken control over his body. Eventually, his entire body would stop and he'd drop to his knees. All around him would go out of focus as the fight would eventually turn inwards. That's when his reinforcements would eventually arrive.

User Image

+++Dzan's form was protected by his power armor for the most part other than the huge gaping wound that was on his back, but even that was slowly being staunched and scabbed over as his teammates would protect it from would be attackers. Dzan's mind went into the Hive of his consciousness. The daemon was there before him and it would begin a battle of will. A battle that the daemon knew it would typically win, but Dzan was angry and he would use every underhanded trick in the belt. He'd slowly activate all of that implants with him. Using that electrical energy to confuse the daemon; a thing of magic and Warp stuff. Those electrical charges would act as another consciousness within the scheme of things as Dzan drove the daemon kicking and screaming back into its cage of the chainaxe. That's when he'd stand up again and chuckle over the comm system. A sound that was utterly human and a sound that would calm the people who would've realized he had been possessed by the Greater Daemon that was sealed into his chain weapon.

+++By this time he'd be near a control console that had a wee thing hiding behind it and he'd suddenly rush forward. The bull rush scaring the hulkers near by as he'd cut and smash his way through them once more. The armor was sluggish due to the damage he had taken, but it would certain get the job done as he'd get down near the newcomer to the battle. The chainaxe would fend people off, but what was really happening was Dzan would lunge forward quicker than most people would give the guy granted for. He'd scare the little grox-reamer well and he'd most likely scamper off. If not Dzan's foot would slam down and pin him to the ground as his own team would rally about him. Mostly to make sure that the Cybernetic Hive Ganger didn't get his gakkin' a** killed.

Heidi J. Shima
Location: Mars // Remus //

Heidi slightly pushed down her glasses so that her blue eyes looked right over the rim of her shades. She peered out over the city as the wind whipped her hair in every which direction. She grinned slightly leaning forward. “Phew !” The view from the edge was pretty daunting to the average human. But Heidi wasn’t ‘average’ by any means. The blue locks of hair pushed backwards away from her face and she took a few steps back from the edge. Reaching inside her vest pocket she retrieved a cell phone. A few swipes on the screen would quickly be followed by the phone being placed to her ear. It rang two times before an unknown voice spoke.

Agency Cleaning Services !

“ Clearance Code: Delta-November- Foxtrot -5-7-Alfa-4-Tango “

Clearance Granted. How can I assist you Agent Shima ?

“ I need last known location of Niko, Garamushi “

Last known contact was with his handler. Slums of remus sector 7

“Handler ?”

It says he kept in contact with a handler from a previous wet work job on Pluto. It would appear his handler had information pertaining to a group of mercenaries working with Echo industries. There was an outpost located on the outer limits of Pluto. Which since then has been relocated to remus sector 4

“Who authorized this operation ? “

Im sorry your clearance isn’t high enough to access that information

“So director Locke. Thanks.Forward me case file with handler location please “

Will do Agent Shima. Will you need a strike team ?

“Not needed Im looking to ascertain information from this ‘handler’ of his for Niko’s Location “

Niko is a rogue agent. That you should know

“Yes I do “

Then you should know that You shouldn’t be following after him without backup

“I’ll contact the agency for extraction if necessary “

Can I assist you any further agent shima ?

“Connect me to Director Locke “

He isn’t in his office can I le-

She ended the call and flipped the phone over removing the chip inside of it. Bad blood between the two left a sour taste in her mouth every time she couldn’t in touch with him. She reached around to the back of her neck and pressed a small octagon shaped button. It was nearly invisible to anyone not looking, the flap of skin and metal clicked open and she inserted the chip. Binary code opened up in a window like interface that stayed in her upper left field of vision.

Downloading Case File ….

The file opened up and Heidi began shifting through the pages displayed on the HUD

“Cmon… cmon… give me the handler “
She mummbled

The page pulled up and magnified as it panned down the page

“ Laura Polchek “

Heidi knew she heard that name before but she could quite place it. Her blue hair whipped around as she began to pace back and forth on the roof top the wind slightly calmed. But still wild enough to annoy her which prompted her to tie her hair up in a pony tail.

“Sector 7 it is I suppose “
She shrugged at the thought of her chasing down a contact that might not even be alive anymore. Heidi had enough smarts to know Garamushi never left a living body after he no longer needed them anymore. Perhaps this was a wild goose chase but she had to try and locate him. She started off at a slow pace which transformed into a brisk walk. She leaped off the edge of the skyscraper, down into the fray

Even the glorious city of Remus, home only to the rich and prosperous, had a few scabs. A few dark marks on the otherwise shining dome city. For Remus it was their industrial district - because even the rich needed someone to haul their trash, deposit their waste, clean their water. And it all went through Sector 7 before getting shipped out of the city limits. The hacker made her way through the slums, this time wearing a longer duster-style jacket. Her eyes were their normal color, and dimmed, with her Mohawk hair laying flat on one side of her head. Walking in the nice parts of Remus, she could display her fashion and her cybernetics. She might be judged, or picked out of the crowd as an urchin, so security watched her more closely. She had to worry about getting pinched if she stole.. but she didn't have to worry about being mugged, or killed. In the shadier parts of town, you had to be more careful. You might be gutted for your implants. Maybe in other slums it wasn't such a concern; but being in the rich people's back yard meant that occasionally you found a Remus citizen alone in town, and rich people meant rich cybernetics. While Veritas' tech wasn't worth much on the black market, her assailants might not realize that. Better to keep a low profile, and not tempt fate; she even shut down her usual back up programs, running only her firewall.

She wasn't sure what she hated more - the social judgment of the rich snobs in Remus, or the savage depravity of the filth in the slums.

She made her way down the thinly populated streets, nodding at a few familiar faces. She made her way, taking lots of extra turns and extraneous loops to shake any tails. She didn't like having to jump through the hoops, but her contact was uniquely paranoid. She seemed to think she was being tracked by government spooks. Veritas was tempted to write her off as a crazy b***h but she was scary as hell, so who knows, maybe they were. Veritas hated government spooks, too. Always strutting around like they were invincible, like rules didn't apply to them.

When she thought about it, she hated a lot of people...

She was at her destination. A little machine shop, used for servicing some of the custodial 'bots that did most of the clean up around Remus. Veritas pounded a gloved hand on the thick, industrial door, "Hey, Laura. Open up." She has worked with Laura on occasion, usually contracting the hacker out for some decryption work here and there. She wasn't brought into Laura's bigger operations; Veritas knew she was involved with some pretty deep s**t. But a girl had to make a living, and few people were connected like Laura. Sometimes Laura came to her to access a file server, other times V3 came to Laura to call in a favor or see if she had any work. Today, she needed a favor.

"Laura.. Dépêche-toi." It wasn't like Laura to keep her waiting..

This was all familiar to the trained agent. For the better half of her life she led a normal life but over the decades she became a well trained assassin of sorts. Her assets and skills knew no bounds which made her well known through the furthest reaches of every galaxy. With every look in her direction she couldn’t help think if they knew who she was. Her name was behind many wet work jobs on earth and its surrounding planets. Once a freelance she is now tied down to an agency with its own agenda. Her eyes moved behind the shades and scanned over the crowd. The optical systems running facial recognition software on everyone in the crowd. Faces and records began to pop up in a small window in the upper left corner.

I could make a killing collecting the bounties on the bunch of these guys…

Scum…

Heidi shook her head at the amount of people with bounties on their heads. But the Sector 7 wasn’t a very desirable place to live. This level was filled with the folks who were never fortunate enough to drag themselves out of poverty. But most stayed here all their lives for the simple fact someone had to do these jobs. The population of this level was people who worked behind the scene to make all the fancy large buildings work and they made just enough to get by. As Heidi looked around she realized this wasn’t the worst she had seen, they had above average living conditions and they all appeared very happy. Her HUD directed her around the corner and prompted

Destination Located on the Left

With her hands deep in her jean pockets she began to turn around the corner. Her eyes connected with a figure banging on a door which Heidi suspected was Laura’s. It only confirmed what she thought when the girl spoke said her name as she banged. A few seconds was all she needed her systems began to run her face through various systems. It would seem there wasn’t much on her. A bunch of blacked out files

Who is this girl…

Her inquisitive mind began to race in an attempt to figure this out before her she figured out her next move. But she decided perhaps to just wing it. Heidi continued to walk down the rather narrow street. A few other pedestrians were out and about further down the way but for the most part the area in front of the large industrial door was clear. Her slender right hand slipped from her jean pocket and to the small of her back. Her fingers felt the cold steel of a standard 9mm Glock. Heidi began to whistle as she slowly walked down the street. Heidi was curious to see if someone would answer the door.

She could be of some use to me…

If any ordinary I.A. officer had scanned Veritas' face or eyes, they'd have gotten a boring entry with only a few old crimes listed. Nothing recent, nothing of interest - the summary of a once-misguided youth that had seen the error of her ways. But someone with more resources, access to highly confidential records would get a second hit. Retinal recognition was useless to ordinary databases; the hacker's optical implants made it impossible to get a retinal read. However, more advanced databases actually used those same implants, identifying cyborgs and hackers by their equipment and data markers rather than fingerprints or DNA. The agent would get a very quick shot of Veritas in a moment, as she looked down both sides of the street after there was no answer. The record would come up with the alias, Veritas Via Virtus. A well known hacker in the criminal underworld. Reports connect her to a dozen or more unsolved cyber crimes, stretching from Jupiter to Mars. Yet she was pretty low profile; the crimes were mostly data theft and financial fraud. She worked the corporate espionage ring for a while a couple years back. But no violent crimes in her history. She wasn't known outside of hacker rings, but inside the digital world, she was a celebrity.

A celebrity that was currently standing on a stoop in a shady part of town. And Laura wasn't answering. She never left; this place was her fortress, her Command Center. Laura didn't do field work; she coordinated. Bunkered down in her little rabbit hole, here she sent and received couriers and made deals and set up exchanges. There were a few possibilities. She could be sleeping - passed out on her desk, having finally succumbed to sleep after one too many doses of Red Eye, the infamous drug that replaced speed in 2034. She could be with a client; but Laura would have told her to piss off by now.
    There was another possibility.

Veritas took a few steps back, looking up at the building then up and down the street for any sign of her. This would be the first opportunity for the unseen agent to scan her facial and retinal recognition. Unseen on the outside, the simple act of scanning her would trip a sensor in the F1rewall. It told her nothing more than that she had been painted. Scanned. It was enough to make her wonder. Could the crazy broad have been right? Had someone been tracking her? She stood in front of the window, as if looking inside for her friend. Instead she checked the reflection for her examiner. If someone was following her, she couldn't tell. She saw nothing unusual.

Veritas, apparently getting impatient at the door, walked down the alley to the side of the house. A jump and a climb up the fire escape and she found a window on the second floor. Before opening the window she booted up her cybernetics. Her homemade programs booted up as her eyes began to glow slightly, the familiar sensation of implants triggering neurological impulses. Her tech wasn't just a tool, it was an extension of her consciousness. Once online she checked for security - and there was in fact an intrusion alarm on the window. Bypassing it would be possible, though the digital passkey was surprisingly complex for a window lock. Laura really had been paranoid.

Perhaps for good reason.. the code here showed fingerprints. Someone else had tampered with this..

The hacker slipped the window open and sneaked inside. She closed the window, turned around, and saw in front oF her--

    Merde.

Primary searches for this woman brought up blacked out files and dead ends. Which didn’t surprise Heidi in the slightest. Databases weren’t reliable and most intelligence agencies didn’t have interrelations with other agencies. Files could be viewed by authorized members of such agencies. The women got a bit stiff as if she knew someone was watching her and then she made her move.

Secondary Search Results ….

The Intelligence Matrix opened and began pulling up files on this mystery woman.

Hacker….

Why haven’t I heard of her ? …

Computer Crimes and such wasn’t Heidi’s field so it made sense why she hadn’t ran into this lady before. But it would make sense why she was here. The file told Heidi that laura was a holder of information holder. Anything and everything pertaining to the underbelly of society went through Laura and her lackeys.

Perhaps she is another lackey ?

What would a hacker want with laura ?

In a way Heidi didn’t blame laura for not coming to the door with knowing so much many were after her. The hacker made her way around the corner to the side of this building. Heidi released her hold on the glock and quickened her pace. Her back pressed up against the wall and she peaked around the corner to see what the hacker was up to. She moved fast as she was already at the laura’s window.

Fast one isn’t she …

The Agents curiosity got the better of her for she wanted to know just what and who was inside this building. Perhaps laura was being held against her will which Heidi wanted to definitively know. Perhaps garamushi was still here and she should have called in that strike team.

He cant be here…

If he was this building would be destroyed and the Agency would have already been notified. Her once pale blue iris’s began to glow a neon blue light that began to wash over eyes. She looked down slightly as if it hurt in a way. But it has only been sometime since she used her abilities in the field. She looked back up but by the time she did the lady must have found her way inside the building. Heidi first looked around o see if others was watching then faced the building placing her hand on its rough exterior wall. A pulse resonated through her body and the building began to glow in her eyes and it revealed the many inner workings of the infrastructure. She grinned as she adjusted her vision to see mechanical devices within the walls

Bombs....

Maybe security protocols…

She didn’t have time to think about that she focused her sight to see a few glowing figures would signaled life energy. Something within the walls blocked her from distinguishing just who it was. From out of nowhere her optical implants fuzzed out and she felt a sharp pain in her head. This wasn’t her ability interfering with her implants it felt like something was shorting out her implants

Firewall Blockage!!

A jolt of pain went up her arm and ended in her head. It forced her to jerk her hand back “********!!” her ability must have tripped a firewall software within the building’s mainframe. It confused her cause she wasn’t trying to hack into it but she figured trying to scan the building by any means was still recognizable by the systems defenses. A sigh escaped her mouth in a bored manner. Blue orbs began to examine her now singed hand. Heidi was no stranger to a few backfires but this building was unique in its was to defend against her abilities which was powered by her life-force.

Why would she have such security protocols if she wasn’t hiding something…

She walked back over to the door and pushed on it to see if it would open but as she thought it wouldn’t be so easy. Her pulsating blue eyes panned down to the locking mechanisms within the door, the wires and inner workings looked rather intricate. But she figured she could use the buildings own medicine against it. Heidi began to focus energy down into her hand now pressing against the door. A crackle and a pop could be heard as the energy poured into the locking mechanism shorting frying the firewall for a short period. A few seconds later the door creaked open which prompted the agent to slip inside rather fast before the backup kicked in. The door was rather large and thick for such a simple exterior. Once past its threshold the door pressed shut behind her.

Now to find out what laura knows …

Location: Outer Orbit of Styx

The EAS Antares

Command Deck

"Start the Clock.

His gruff voice spoke as soon as the Antares had fully formed in the Orbit of Pluto. Watching the response time from his reformation to the intrusion of the comparatively massive Dreadnaught into the restricted orbit of the Prison Planets and it's moons, the mix-matched eyes of the man were filled will scorn as the seconds ticked by. He had heard much about this moon known as Styx. It was supposedly more impregnable than some Super Max's in other realms of Space.

But as usual in these cases, it seemed to be more hype than function. He'd already pinpointed a exorbitant amount of remote platforms, and a extremely complex minefield. Hilariously though, the Minefield was already a third of the way mapped within micro-seconds using a heavily Monte Carlo simulation.

reaching up to pull down a helmet-like device from it's placement in the ceiling, he rested it on his head and the PsyCommu system began to power up.

"Release the Bits, Abera"

His voice was demanding but muffled behind the full face shield. The large orb turned a particular shade of orange that spoke of annoyance before deep within the almost empty hanger bay, twelve large spindle-like cylinders lifted off of their cradles and burst out of the half open blast doors.

Soon high in the sky a proxy-war of dozens of explosions began to surround the Antares, the mentally controlled Bits systematically working their way through the mine field and defense platforms, the over-powered laser cannons on them aimed specifically to take out at least three of the mines and their controller modules with each shot.

Focusing part of his mind on defeating the preprograming computers of the Prison system, his hands pulled the armrests of his command chair around to lock in front of him, muscle memory countering his 'blindness' to the screens around him as the surroundings was beamed directly into his cerebral cortex.

"Forty Nine Seconds...I'm horribly unimpressed."

He muttered as the defenders finally took over a more semi-autonomous control over their defenses, just as Abera released a second batch of twelve bits that took a more protective shield quality around the ship, allowing the original ones to dig deeper, the diminutive size of the Bits forcing the defenders to focus more and more firepower on protecting themselves and less on taking down the Dreadnaught slowly moving forward like some latter day juggernaut.

"Keep the Wedge in standby.

We might need it before too long.

But light the beacon."

The Man in the Cell would feel a more spiritual shutter through the complex, as a mental pulse began to play itself over the entire planet coming from the ship drawing closer to orbit.

"The Cleric Pays His Debts."

It was a simple message that reached all but the heavily shielded and made no sense to many. But to one.., it would mean all the world to him.

S he could have prepared all her life for this moment, and still it would have done it no justice. As black chitinous hexagons crawled across Yue's skin, sucking in the white robes and armoring him in black slate, he would hold out an arm. Pausing for a moment to make sure that she stood still as they stood on the precipice of the darkness. Like a wall that rose above them, a line drawn in the wafting snow. As unnatural a sight as one would ever see, but befitting a planet without rotation. Pushing into this darkness would mean danger, cold, and uncertainty. When at last the final hexagons plated his lower jaw, he could speak with her once again, the receiver for his voice must have been among the shale upon his neck. For the mechanical voice had returned and with it something dark about him in which could give anyone a certain prickle at the back of their neck.

" Looks as though we will have an easier time getting off this planet than expected. "

A waft to the heavens would show pinpricks of light that would blossom and then die, again and again, out here so close to the darkness it was almost possible to make out the shape of that looming juggernaut of a ship that was imposing it's will upon the small prison moon. A perfect distraction for their getaway.

Stepping forth toward the darkness he pressed fingers against it as if it were a wall. Out of his fingers tendrils of light would glint, springing forth toward a number of gemma trees. Vibrating and shaking away snow at their base. Though the tips of these trees had been mangled, claw-like in appearance all like the rest, what lay beneath was much more...organized. Sharp tips, culminating in what appeared to be the smooth sides of perfect pyramid like structures would push the snow away little by little. Until finally these bonsai-like structures of Gemma trees would stop their incessant vibration.

Into the darkness he walked, and the closer he got to these four trees which formed a perfect square, the void at the center of them would grow. A black gate that started as a small square in the ground, slowly rotating and growing until he stood on the edge. The gate stopped as it locked into place with these four trees.

                            " Quick. "

Was all he said, as from the void a mass began to rise, rotating just as the square had. Only this was metallic, dark and light blended into one. Like his own skin and the armor he wore. A perfect balance of darkness and light. A gun turret, then wings, cockpit, and finally engines would push out of the void. His long lost ship, a forgotten memory to most. For those that had spent their time looking had never found it. And rightly so, he'd hidden it so carefully. As the ramp dropped the gate began to close beneath it, and with the gate, the snow began to crumble as well. Running toward the ship, he would hop on the ramp and activate measures to secure him to the metallic body of the ship as it began to shake beneath his feet.

Turning only for a second to see if she was coming, he would have little time to waste if they were to make it out of this. Through his eyes, and only his would the messages be transferred, a silent sigh of relief from a long lost friend. Dee would scramble on behind him urging the female to hurry, and ready to lend a hand.

                            ' Welcome back Master Y'houdre. '

" Raven, at least get us stabilized for the time being I'm not leaving this planet until this woman gets on board. "

                            ' As you wish. '

Roaring to life, one engine then the other, white hot exhaust amid the spinning contraptions, and a hiss of repulsor jets would level out the craft with enough efficiency to keep it above the rapidly collapsing hole beneath them. What they could not see was the coming trouble, the trouble that Yue had unleashed upon this planet. As his ship had come out one side of this portal, something else had come out of the other side. An immense purple worm that was digging deep into the snow, trying to get it's bearing on this new and alien world.

Walking steadily toward the cockpit he sat in the large chair that awaited him, and watched as the slew of consoles and holograms came to life. Taking the yoke, pulled back on it so that they would rise above the surface steadily away from the collapsing hole. Whirring up to full power the engines began to flare, ready for any second for their escape. And not a moment too soon, for the immense purple worm had raised it's head above the crumpling snow, and reached out with it's large jaws to swallow them whole.

Sensing the impending doom, he stole one last glance backwards to the cargo area where he'd lowered the ramp, hand still on the thrusters, ready to make the call. Rows of sharp teeth and open maw would greet his silver irises, as the mouth began to surround them.

They eventually came onto this edge of darkness, and Ryora stood by and waited as he switched to armor more, normal, for this kind of situation. And finally, normal communication was restored between the two. His first words and actions drew her eyes high into the stars above. Bits of light blossoming and contracting as fast as they came. The authorities were certainly going to have their hands full tonight. For now though, she had to focus on keeping up, by now she figured her margin of error was growing thinner by the minute.

They continued into the darkness and Rye's HUD did it's best to compensate for the total darkness. Yue was onto his strange acts again, this time with a set of gemma trees. She questioned his intentions, but quick eyes and a quick mind answered her questions by simple observation. It appeared to be some kind of hangar, hidden beneath the snow and within in lay a ship of impressive stature. It was no luxury liner, but it looked rugged enough, maybe even to take on her own ship. But that kind of inquiry would likely be answered at a later time, for now, it was time to pick up the pace.

Ryora broke into a sprint shortly after Yue and Dee, the last thing she wanted was to be left behind on this damned planet. She made for the ramp in a large bound as the snow crumbled away beneath her. She landed with relative grace on all fours and for a moment she would have resembled something of a predatory cat. Silently she thanked her beneficiaries for constructed armor and limbs so agile and flexibility. She ignored Dee's offer of help and continued further into the ship on two feet as the engines fired up.

She stole a glance back towards the ramp in time to see the large worm rise from the dark below to meet them. She continued into the cockpit where Yue was seemingly waiting on her. "Well don't just stare, fly." Her disinterested tone betrayed her true feelings of unease. She was able to get out a plenty of situations, but she wasn't quite sure how she'd fare against a giant worm. She braced herself against the open doorway to the cockpit in preparation for their escape.

Just as those teeth and the walls of the maw began to show in the front viewports the ship went from it's wobbling ascent to a shooting star. A streak that shot from the mouth of the large beast, leaving a plume of heated air trailing behind it as it climbed and climbed. The gravity was little in such a place that most could endure the shock, though the jostling around had Dee straggling to find purchase on the slick metallic plates on the floor of the cargo bay.

" Ryora, get up here. "

                            ' Master '

                            " Not now Raven... "

                            ' But Master '

                            " Yes yes, I know. "

' Well then, enjoy the flight'

Raven was referring to what Yue already knew, he saw it...out there. Whatever it was, it was blasting the living hell out of the defenses of the small moon. Keen eyes could see from here the lasers that spouted forth and then died out, usually accompanied with an explosion of some kind or tumbling debris. The way that the debris was being kicked off the station, toward their flight path it looked as though it might get bumpy real soon.

When Ryora arrived in the bridge he would point toward a seat to his right gilded with glowing screens, flashing lights, and two sticks on either armrest of the chair. Triggers large and prevalent. It was the turret seat, the large dual guns on top of the ship. And the screens gave the perspective of just that.

" Anything big looks like it's gonna hit us, take it out. "

Yue rolled Raven in a corkscrew dancing through the debris, pulsing fire coming from the six main guns at the edges of the wings. Lancing arcs of light flashing out to blow debris out of the flight path. The pulsing fire coming out so fast that seemed more plausible that two gatling guns were mounted there. These were automated guns, Yue was preoccupied with the flying even though that too could be automated. Perhaps enjoying the situation a little too much. Anything in the direct flight path of the Raven was riddled with scorch marks, blown completely away, or incinerated instantly. ' Just wait til she fired that turret... ' The thing could turn any battle seasoned warrior into a giggly schoolgirl. Unlike the plasma bolts that were being fired from the main guns the turret had a little more kick. Sustained plasma beams strong enough to punch through armored ships with relative ease. Every time they were fired, the ship would hum and sing as if praising the triggerman. Or woman as it would be in this case.

" Sir if I may be so bold, but putting a novice at the controls of the anti-matter canons it's exactly my idea of a good time. "

" Shut up Dee you're just jealous. "

                            " Hmph...only a little. "

Guiding them through the field of debris as best he could without showing off, the light show that was sure to explode from their small craft was sure to draw attention. Hopefully not enough that the giant...whatever it was gave chase. He'd hate to have to destroy such a large ship. A glinting grin came from him, as he swirled around a relatively large chunk of spinning debris. Pushing hard on the thrusters to skirt around it so that the view from Ryora was that of a rushing field of twisted metal landscape.

                            " Wooo! Ha. "

Ryora gripped against the metal doorway as they shot off and away from the worm and Pluto. Eventually they steadied out as they hit real space. Of course, she didn't have to be told twice to get to the bridge, mostly because there wasn't much else of a place to go. Once she made it there, she focused on what was ahead of them. The explosions from the ground were now much more defined, as was the perpetrating ship. She hoped it was relatively benevolent towards the average passerby, but that was doubtful. Most ships with the ability to take on one of the prison moons was probably going to take on all comers, especially if it saw them as a first response ship.

She moved forward at Yue's behest and climbed into the turret seat. Her eyes shot over the displays infront of her while her hands got used to the controls of the turret. She'd have to blast anything that got too close. She just hoped that the ship in the distance didn't end up being one of them. If planets were Yue's weapons, they'd likely be of littler help to them out in the middle of space. "Got it." Were all she could managed before going silent and focusing on the incoming debrs. She locked on to her first full piece of debris and pulled the trigger.

Ryora had been the turret gunner a number of times, and had been at the helm of powerful weapons, but those times simply paled in comparison to what she unleashed upon that unsuspecting piece of junk. Twin sustained beams of plasma burst through the debris and turned it and the pieces behind it into either nothingness or slag. She took in a deep breath, and attempt to hide her excitement as she switched targets and fired again. The accuracy was immaculate, the power was hard to match.

"Heh."

Ryora watched as they maneuvered around a rather large piece of twisted metal. She gave the debris a very liberal dosage of plasma. The resulting fire had split it clean in half, The several second burst hardly made any progress on the overheating bar. She glanced over towards the jealous little robot and then to Yue. "So much for a novice huh?" Something else caught her eye and she swung the turret around to evaporate another piece of debris.

Lady Masana

Scratching the back of his head slightly, as he looked back at Radiana, "Sorry that didn't happen to be your ideal rescuer. But I am sure this is quite better than what fate waited for you back down at that planet."

"Now that we are stuck with each other for the time being, not like I can drop you off someplace and everything would be fine. By the way, the name is Lydian."

Honestly he was at a loss for what to do, there was no post mission briefing, or him simply handing the goods over to someone else. This was now currently his problem, a problem that will probably bite him on the a** later on. For whoever sent that message will probably be arriving at some point, and then maybe give answers to why this lady was of high interest, if any at all.

Radiana watched and listened, confused now as to what was actually happening. He saved her but didn't know why himself? Maybe someone was interested in her after all. There had been a fair bit of banter between her father and potential purchasers, although she herself knew next to nothing about those who had come to view the potential addition to their collection. Although most would of simply had her as a wife or companion rather than an item, the universe was large and harboured men who would see her caged as part of an exotic display.

The deal was simply to provide her with a life and them with enough money to live. He had chosen the lesser of the evils and ensured she would of had a comfortable life, even if there would of been no love or freedom of choice.

Young and naive to the ways of the universe the woman longed for adventure as most do at times. When Lydian descended and reached out to her she saw a chance to escape her fate.

For that she was eternally grateful, even if at the moment both of them were at a loss of what to do, him not knowing what to do with her, and Radiana? Well she had never gone against her fathers orders before, so this was a combination of exciting, confusing, and frightening.

"Lydian? I will help where I can, maybe this was meant to happen. An unexpected change of fate for me and you."

How could she speak so calmly? Simple. There was no going back, this was simply another step forward in life.

"They will come looking for us. Is there anywhere safe to go?"

Placing his hands behind his head, leaning back as he floated himself back towards the wall, where he went into deep thought. Needing to decide how to handle Radiana. First is that she was willing to stay and help him, another option was to wait for a bounty to be posted then turn her back over to collect a reward for all this trouble this stupid mission put him through. Then again, it might be best to wait and see what future events were in store. Lydian was quite curious to who actually set up this situation, she was right, this is an unexpected change of fate, and there doesn't seem much that either of them could to do to change the tide.

"Maybe you are right, a grand adventure awaits. Then again it all could be our imagination and its simply a trap waiting at the end. However, a more pressing matter is at hand. You are also right, they will shortly be coming after us, I am more or less a little surprised that none have been after us since we left at the port.

Kicking off the wall, gliding through the zero g environment towards the main console of the ship. There he began sending out rapid scans of the area. While the computer did its own thing, closing his eyes he began to concentrate, it looked as if he was attempting to envision the area in his mind. A moment later as the system finished off the initial scanning, at the same time Lydian returned himself to the present area. Appearing to be no signs of any pursuers, a heavy sigh of relief could be heard.

"Well it seems that we are in the OK for the time being. Taking this wonderful opportunity, I think its best we began to head out. I doubt that this place will remain that quiet for long." Entering into the cockpit seat, Lydian began powering up the engines and imputing the coordinates of their next destination, "Well, this trip is gonna take about a day and half to two days, before we arrive at my safe house. Their we... There it him life a flash, a sudden burst of hostile intent, danger was lurking around the immediate corner. He sensed this threat way before the ships alarm began to go off to warn them of the incoming danger. Before anything else, a sudden impact could easily be felt, like something rammed into the side of the ship, most likely a missile of sorts. More alarms blazing.

"s**t!" Cursing as loud as he could, how did nothing pick this up? Where were they hiding? Well didn't matter, the two of them were in a predicament and needed to get out of it. Feeling this ship was now in a hopeless spot, he left the seat and reached for his helmet. "Hurry get your mask back on, were getting back on my mech." Wasn't long before another sudden feeling appearing in his head, a second later, a massive laser shot through the ship, tearing it a massive hole. Fortunately, didn't hit anybody or anything really important aside from the engine. Meaning there was little time to waste, grabbing a hold of Radiana's arm and making sure she had her dog, the trio escaped into the hanger bay and back into his mech, it wasn't even that long ago that they were in it. Swiftly setting up the start up procedures, they had less than thirty seconds, otherwise they be swarmed with whatever was actually out there.

Once the power was operational, Lydian rammed his mech through the gate bellow, and out into the space. There they had a better look of what they were facing, which happened to be something of a small military force. Several mechs could be made out immediately while there was quite the large ship way in the background, that is why the sensors probably did not pick it up, what was weirder was that their insignia was not of planet or of the super powers.

"ISF? Interplanetary Strategic Federation....? That's new." Regardless, it didn't matter, they wanted a fight, and a fight was the only way out. Or was it? The ship in the background might by their ticket out. With thrusters on full, he zoomed straight pass the military vehicles, and wasn't long before they were upon what seemed to a massive frigate or battleship judging from its size. But before another action could be made, he felt another sudden flash feeling danger, however this time it was too late, another mech was already behind them. Preparing for the worse, yet nothing happened, and instead a gate way opened in front of them, as if they were inviting them into the ship, with nothing else to do, Lydian landed into the hanger as the gate behind them closed.

"Now what?" He asked

If these 'Hulkers' had any self-preservation instinct, they would by now be retreating back into their long-forgotten lairs within the massive space debris complex... but they didn't. Instead, they continued to fight on despite the decisive beating their numbers were enduring.

As it was, only two enemy dreadnoughts continued to fight when there were eight before. The unusual mutants of significant value had been cut down to twelve. Of the normal, power shield rabble there were maybe thee score men still left fighting, shooting and finding cover from the invading crew's augmented firepower. The Tempest Bolts would break through the power fields pretty easily, then land into the enemy bodies and blow them up from the inside, creating cavities the size of volley balls within their bodies from the resulting explosions. They were nearly dying after three shots each and would now have to necessarily hide behind cover or quickly and brutally perish.

Zidarus rushed forward in his battle tank and began fire on one of the two remaining bipedal enemy tanks that was nearing Dzan. "Oy, Coyote, leave this one t'me! Take care a' th'other one!" "Aye aye, cap'n!" The man known as Coyote disengaged captain Belcamel's target and proceeded to unload anti-armor ordnance towards the other remaining mech. Coyote had been the perpetrator behind the fall of the other three tanks and a lot of the mutants that were heavily armored. While the rest of the team was off doing their own thing, this heavy, anti-armor beast of an exosuit was off shooting guided anti-armor rounds and shock batteries into enemy lines. Power shields and armor alike would be penetrated altogether by some of the heavy ordnance that the heavy armor Coyote was wearing sported. Two stage, armor-piercing discarding-sabot guided missiles were shot at the enemy tank, which would do short work of it if not for the tank's point-defense systems. However, it could not catch 4 different missiles headed in different directions at the same time, and would get hit and perforated anyway.

Zid's own dreadnought began a brutal beatdown of the other remaining tank, though at a price... shooting missiles racks into the enemy while attacking in melee range was going to damage both vehicles pretty badly. "Get th'rekkin' Khorne daemon outta yer Throne-damned systam, Streea, or we all likely t'die here!"

Jay S Borne

Wedge, Biggs and Jay would be cut off by another pair of massive mutants. One of them grabbed Wedge by the arm and tossed him out of the way, leaving Biggs behind to shoot the bolter into the feral, armored mutie until he'd run out of ammunition or killed the damn thing. Each electric burst from each bolt hitting the force field depleted it until it became useless, but even though he was receiving bolter fire straight to his armor it didn't seem to face him. "BLARRRGHHH!!!" The mutant grabbed a hold of Biggs and lifted him into the air, opening its mouth wide in a roar and spat fire into the man's armor, breathing a massive tongue of searing flame that nearly melted the plasteel he wore. Biggs screamed in agony from within the powered armor as a second mutant bounded up behind Jay and attempted to grab Jay and perform the same horrible torture on the armored woman.

Garam Nijashi Hikuro

The psychos followed after Seth even as he tumbled into cover, avoiding laser shots. The two that were shooting at Seth with laser rifles had been reduced to one, as the other was hit by a sudden case of 'head explody' when a series of Tempest Bolts broke his shield and subsequently his head. The remaining one had managed to stay in cover and still continue aiming at Seth with an intent to kill. The lasers would sometimes hit his own teammates' shields, but he didn't care. The cover would thankfully prevent Seth from being struck with laser fire, but the Hulker continued to wait for Seth to get out of cover and for his teammates to coax him into melee.

When Seth quickly popped out of cover to pop bullets into his enemies, he'd be highly disappointed. The shots from the handgun, mere bullets that were or lower caliber than the assault rifles and machine gun turrets from the space pirate crew, would impact the power shields minimally, at most being able to break the shields if a good dozen shots hit any single particle shield. Since he was just shooting for cover against psychos that didn't really care for their own well-being, he wasn't exactly going to leave out of this one without some melee interaction, apparently.

"No, don't run away, I need your face!"

"Strip the flesh! SALT THE WOUND! HAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!"

The three chain-axe holding psychos covered the distance relatively quickly, completely unphazed by the handful of shots that had managed to hit their shields. The foremost of the three, deformed and raving, growled as he jumped over the console and used his only good arm to swing the chain-axe towards his new prey in a fit of angry growls.

The other, a whole lot less angry yet more a whole lot more 'whole', was laughing as he came up from behind Seth and tried to catch him with one arm, the other slicing the air frantically with the chainsaw aimed to hit Seth's shoulder... except he got a daemon-possessed chainaxe slammed into his gut, breaking his shield and carving a jagged open wound across his body before he was batted a few feet away by the weapon and landing on the remains of the third psycho'd body, who was now mashed pudding after being trod over by a powered armor.

Dzan's powered armor, to be more precise, as Dzan arrived near where Seth was clad in blood, organs and ceramite.

But mostly blood and organs.

Ebag The II

The little amount of time that Dzan had to use to fight off his daemons was enough time to have a crazy b*****d come up from behind him and stab him in the back with a sharpened pipe before Raof shot a plasma bolt that turned the Hulker's torso into a charred hole and a blinding blanket of gray smoke. "s**t! Streea, get over here! Find a ******** wall to place behind you, dammit!" Raof was taking care of the riffraff trying to shoot holes into Dzan's back, which was hard enough to do without the man rushing headlong into battle. And Dzan went ahead and did just that.

Luckily for Dzan, Raof was keeping the few psychos shooting the Khornite berserker entertained so they were unable to shoot Dzan properly in the back. For a moment Raof got rather angry at Dzan's carelessness, until he saw he was headed for cover at a generally deserted console. Sighing, he proceeded to open a man's head with a chainsword as Dzan accidentally helped someone else's chances for survival.

The cyberpunk went lunging straight into a group of psychos picking on a new guy, tackling then trampling over one without remorse, crushing the man into meat pudding, then swinging the chainaxe into another one who was double-teaming Seth with another friend of his.

Dzan arrived just in time to help Seth with the one-armed mutated freak... but with his condition, perhaps it was best left to Seth to fend for himself.

Zidarus switched from wireless comm to the loudspeakers on the dreadnought and announced loudly and clearly so that the enemy could hear him.

"A'righ', lissen u' y'Throne-damned freaks! Ye go' bea'! YER DOWN TA A HANDFU' O' YER NUMBERS! SURRENDER AN' YE CAN SURVIVE IN THE BRIG, YE GROX-ARSED SCURVERS!"

"DEATH TO THE OUTSIDERS!"

Veritas was built like a gymnast, and quickly scaled up the fire escape and into the window. She shut the window behind her, and reset the alarm on the window. With her cybernetics booted up she turned, her eyes glowing as they scanned through different spectral frequencies. She could see the glowing lattice of a wireless network, glowing lines like laser pointers connecting different electronic devices throughout the room. Veritas could see networks like a spider saw a web, and she noted the location of Laura's servers, even her backup ones. However, this wasn't the most immediate detail. The thing that commanded her attention now -- was the body on the floor. Merde. She cursed silently as she looked at the corpse face-down on the floor, and stepped gingerly over to the side of the body. With the window closed, she couldn't hear the Agent outside cursing, [********] and instead focused on the body. She reached down with a gloved hand, turning the head to the side. Dammit. Laura. The information dealer was dead in her own apartment. Precision work. No sign of trauma. Poison, maybe? Suffocation? She wasn't a doctor, she couldn't determine cause of death, but it didn't look like it had been a violent struggle. She didn't know why this would be important, but she was just absorbing details. Her mind was still reeling, and as she examined the room, she noticed something else - all of her alarms were still in place. Her computers were running, her alarms were active. How had someone gotten inside past all her security and was able to reset it all behind them?

Someone very powerful had been here. The question was why someone would go to such lengths to kill Laura, and with such care. She tried to access Laura's mainframe.

    ACCESS DENIED...
    PASSWORD KEY: ************

    INITIATING > S4FE_CRACKER.EXE...
    BEGIN DECRYPTION? [Y/N]

Safe Cracker was a program of her own design to gain access to password-protected networks. She began the automated program to run in the background. She was still scanning the peripheral networks to check for any sign of data theft when she heard - Pop! Thunk as something heavy and metallic struck the ground on the first floor. Veritas snapped her head up, crouching down and low, like a cat caught by surprise. Shitshitshit. Her eyes jumped to the window, considering leaving the way she came in. But if these people had gotten Laura, they might have gotten information about who she worked with. They might be looking for her - this may even be who had scanned her outside. She needed to figure out what was going on..

Veritas looked around for a weapon of some kind. She found a metal baseball bat - low-tech security - and lifted it up from its spot against the wall. She gingerly made her way towards the staircase. She was making good progress, but as she was about to exit Laura's upstairs room, she heard a sound that made her heart drop:

    Creeeeeeaaaaaak

The floorboard creaked just before she made it to the hallway that accessed the staircase. She cursed under her breath, her mind frantic. Someone in the house would have heard that. Did she try to make it out into the hallway? They might already be at the stairs. If the person in the downstairs was the ones that had killed Laura, they'd be coming to investigate the sound. Next to the door was a standing shelf, upon which were several different computer components, servers, and network routers. She pressed herself up against the shelf, holding the bat at the ready.. She waited, listening... and if she saw so much as a shadow come through the door she'd step out from the rack swinging the baseball bat.
