Avi joined a large number of school organizations, so it wouldn’t be hard to say that he
helped some of the girls move into the school. (I had a similar experience when I was a
freshman in college, so it isn’t hard to imagine) I can see him trying to help her ‘adjust’ to
the new school and the two of them could become friends in the process. What were you
thinking?

That's actually way better than what I was thinking. I was thinking maybe along the lines of he was enlisted to help her with her grades aka tutor, or they had to work on group project, she tries to pay him to do her work, those where the ideas a was mulling over.
