because she's so not used to people staring at her for long periods of time
small time spans? yes, she's cool with that, she has to be, but someone just staring intently at her, that scares her a bit / shot
omg, Tora would start thinking Nao likes her and stalks her around because of that
so at some point she keeps making this speech in her head like "how to tell Nao that I don't reciprocate his feelings,"
okay! figuring out Tora is a yes from me ; D; /
and Nao saying that, that would really make her become more guarded
and ask questions about Nao as well
but fuuuu---- her reaction to that would be a blank stare and the following question

Eheehee Nao would think for half a second about going back and
explaining herself but then just be like "I have no real explanation"
and continue going because it's awkward explaining to someone
why you're staring at them when you don't have a logical reason other
than because you're interesting.
Hehehe if Tora ever went to tell Nao that the feelings weren't reciprocated
Nao would actually get a little bit physically flustered for a moment,
dropping the deadpan long enough to look confused, like, "wait a minute,
I like you? when did that happen and why am I only learning of this
now?"

Oooh, if she asked questions about Nao she'd just answer in really
awkward round-about ways, or just avoid the conversation altogether
by trying to walk away, either with an excuse or without one.
And in response Nao would go silent for a moment again, but
reply, "when I don't feel like going to my own club I go and watch others.
plus my little sister is in the baseball club, too, so you know,
it's only natural that I've seen you play."
oh my goodness I can definitely see this developing into an
