But, hmm.
I could see this going a couple different ways or all of them at once. He could just wake up and realize he'd been thrown from the fleet and somehow gotten on the island. Or maybe while he's still knocked out, he can dream of something from his childhood or something from his past? To kind of give some insight into the character. Maybe her words trigger a memory.
And once he's awake he could seek Cordelia out or explore the island. If you want, you could even have him wake up and see her fleeing. And then he'd know of her existence and try and coerce her out of the water maybe? Not sure. Perhaps he noticed her long before this. Maybe when she was swimming to save him, he saw her before losing consciousness? And he wakes up thinking maybe it was all a dream. Only it isn't, and he's stranded on an island. xD

So maybe another time in his life where someone had said that to him. Maybe when he first became a sky pirate he got hurt/thrown from the fleet? Or maybe something family related?

Oh, I will! My days start late. I'm just enraptured by what's been going on in Boston over the last week. I'm from there and my family is up there so it's overwhelming. =/

I don't know anyone in Boston so while I am definitely saddened by the tragedy, it doesn't hit quite as close to home as it probably does for you. Is everyone in your family ok? :/

I just... I can't even begin to fathom why someone would do such a thing.

Yeah, we're fortunately south of the city instead of north of it where the majority of the action occurred. I'm just glad it's over and that after the initial attack there were so few casualties. =/
