Her hat is actually the hood of a long-sleeved copped jacket that she wears over
a white push-up bikini top. Her shorts have a super-low V-shaped cut out in the middle,
and she wears a white utilitybelt over it. Thigh-high pale pink stockings cover her legs,
with a few bare spots peaking through rips and tears in the fabric. A pair of creamy, off-white
fluffy boot covers start just beneath her knees, and brighter pink boots pop out from
beneath them. An aqua star hairclip sits on her cotton-candy colored bangs, the rest of
her light blue hair lying straight down to her bum. Her eyes are a light, golden brown, and she
always wears lots of mascara; for this outfit, she dons light pink lipstick. Kitty backpack &
plush kitty always also accompany her festival attire.
Rina and Momo did not grow up together; when Rina's mother and father seperated, her mother moved back to Japan, re-married and had Momo. Momo was raised in Tokyo until she was 16, when her father's job relocated her to New York City.
Rina however, grew up in Los Angeles, California, with her father. She did not even meet Momo until long after she moved to the states. The girls' mother and Rina's father do not speak. Rina is almost three years older than her half-sister.
More like a sister to her is RhiRhi, a very strange and mysterious girl. When Rina started going to rave parties in high school, she met all sorts of interesting individuals. One of the people who stood out to her the most was the strangest creature of all; RhiRhi. They met at a rave when Rina complimented RhiRhi's outfit, and asked where she bought her horns, or if she made them herself. RhiRhi giggled, tugging at her horns, inviting Rina to tug at them too. When she did, she discovered the horns didn't come off - they were cool to the touch, very real feeling, and seemingly popped right out the top of RhiRhi's head...
It took a long time before Rina believed her, but RhiRhi told her that night that she wasn't from Earth. She came from another star system to visit, just for the party. "Humans are famous for their celebrations!" She told Rina, explaining that on her planet, individual days were never very special.
The girls formed a deep bond and Rina is the only one RhiRhi has felt comfortable revealing her true identity to. Rina brought her in to her rave crew of girlfriends, introducing her to Suki, Bunny and Kit, who all went to high school with Rina, although keeping the "alien thing," a secret. Eventually, Momo moved to LA on her own, to pursue a career in fashion design. Momo met Suki at FIDM, and went on to form a newfound bond with Rina and the other girls.
Momo and Suki quickly became the best of friends when they met at fashion school, and started designing together. Suki runs her own indie custom-costume shop online, and cites Momo as her muse. They do create projects together sometimes, one particular project Suki was working on for Rina initially by herself, until Momo got involved, and the result made Momo and Rina friends for the first time in the half-sisters' lives.
RhiRhi usually only visits for parties, but she will sometimes come just to see Rina, and stay with her for a few days. Since she looks so human, all she has to do is hide her horns to appear completely normal, so it is never an issue for her to go out in public. She loves the rave community, and has told Rina that it is the only place on Earth where humans commonly treat each other the way her own species does on her home planet; with peace, non-violence, and love. "If it weren't for raves and festivals, I might not want to visit this planet very much," - RhiRhi.
Bunny and Kit are the oldest of the group, and they were the ones who introduced raving to Rina in their junior year. They'd famously skipped prom and gone to a rave in their fancy dresses, disregarding every high school and societal norm until they graduated. They were very beautiful, talented, and also very kind, Bunny and Kit in particular in charge of a school club that advocated the end of girl-on-girl bullying. They still work together and are the best of friends.
