YES! It's time, once again, for an awesome Gen_Eric_Gui sponsered art contest. The last one got pretty heated, so here's hoping for another rampant success!
Here's the gist of the new contest. I dislike Sephiroth. A lot. No, more than that. A little more. Now a bit to the left...There, that's about how much I hate him. And to celebrate this hate, I want YOU to draw me a picture of Sephiroth getting killed.
This could involve any number of things, from a house falling on him, to falling off a cliff, to being beheaded. I don't know. Let your imagination run wild. As long as Sephiroth is in the picture, and he is dead/dying, it's fine with me.
Scoring will be done by a panel of judges, consisting of me. Scores will be received on the following three subjects.
- Effort: Basically, if it looks like you tried hard, the more points you get in this category. Thus, Stick figures do not sit well with me. (Possible 10 points)
- Style: This is all that artsy stuff. Getting your proportions right, the characters should clearly LOOK like the characters, etc. Once again, disjointed stick figures do not score well here. Make sure your humans LOOK human, and your animals LOOK like animals, and you should do alright. (Possible 10 points)
- Appearance- How pleasing to the eye the art is. If the picture is unnecessarily rough, it will lose points here. This score and style are also intrinsically linked. If a character is very disproportionate, don't expect it to score well in either of these areas. (Possible 10 points)
Now, of course, there is a way to earn BONUS POINTS! To earn bonus points, you must draw Sephiroth being killed by a character on the following list. Any character added will add a +4 point bonus to the final score, and any additional people in the scene will award an additional +2 bonus. Please note that only these characters will earn bonus points.
-Serge, Glenn, or Kid, from Chrono Cross
-McDohl or Riou(Hero 2) from Suikoden
-The Farmer from Harvest Moon(Specifically the one from Save the Homeland)
-Any Advance Wars CO
-Benjamin or Tristam from Final Fantasy Mystic Quest
-Venom, Zappa, or Slayer from Guilty Gear
-Hsien-ko or Lilith from Dark Stalkers
-Culotte, Homard, or a chocolat from La Pucelle
-Regal or Genis from Tales of Symphonia
-Reid or Ras from Tales of Eternia(Destiny 2 in US)
-Sion, Mugetsu, or Koh from The Bouncer
-ZAN from Rising Zan: Samurai Gunman
-Claude, Ashton, or Leon from Star Ocean: The Second Story
-Megaman(Any). Also, Lan Hikari from the .exe series is acceptable.
Also, a further +2 bonus points will be added if the death is humorous. I don't want any dignified deaths here, people. I want Sephiroth to die like a fool!
Now, what everyone wants to hear about. THE PRIZES.
First Place- 2900 Gold
Second Place- 1900 Gold
Third Place- 1400 Gold
Runner up- A choice of uncommon/rare items from my inventory
These prizes are subject to go up, as this whole thing is really a big attempt to get rid of all my money.
The contest will end on September 9th, exactly one month from now.
