Just keep bumping here for energy, so you can either "redeem" or "destroy".
Here's the lowdown on the ornaments:
First of all, you have to get 300 points to get an ornament.
You can get 10 points for posting in the forum, for quoting, for each post in a thread you make in this forum, and for each donation to dumpster dive. (I recommend using game items or zOMG items you don't want, and donating them one at a time, rather than a full stack of one type of item.)
You get 100 points for gifting.
You get 300 points for completing a round of caroling.
Once you have achieved 300 points, you get an ornament. You can either "redeem" this ornament, or you can "destroy" it. This can be done at the top of the page in any of the threads in the event forum, or in the event forum itself. You can also do so on the main landing page for the event.
When you "redeem" your first ornament, you get an item. The same goes for your first "Destroyed" ornament. After five redeems, you get another item, and again at ten.
When you have destroyed 17 ornaments, you get the "Cheercrusher" achievement.
When you have redeemed 25 ornaments, you get the "Cheerbringer" achievement.
