Prince Raivis
SO excited!
Also angry at how much crap people give it...
1. It is their first time animating something like this. It will improve over time, and that's already been shown in the production diaries: No more shadow people, better physics engine, etc. It's also the first season, so they don't quite know how they want to do things yet. They're still making changes as they go (example: the world/backgrounds are gonna look different)
2. For many of the voice actors it's either their first time voice acting, or their first time voicing a major character. Again: They will improve with time.
3. They work so ******** hard on this. They're still working on it as it's being released, and have to pump out an episode every week. They work so hard, sometimes to the point of sleeping in the office because they don't go home, and many of them are also working on other things at the same time.
But awkward acting and animation aside, let's see what the series has going for it.
1. Female-centered. The title characters are all girls, the main villain at this point is a woman. The show is FULL of ladies who kick major a**, without having to sacrifice their femininity to do so. No "You got beat by a girl!" nonsense. No using "girl" as an insult to the guys.
2. It was stated early on there would be no panty shots, no unnecessary fanservice sexualizing the girls. It is a show thought of and written by men, and the female characters are treated with respect.
3. Fan involvement! Because of the way they're making it and putting it out there, they're able to see what the fans like/want, and work that into it. The character Velvet was just supposed to be an example of how the Faunus are treated, but the fans liked her so much she's getting a bigger part and there was even a contest for fans to design armor for her! (now if enough fans will ship my otp...)
4. Monty Oum is a national treasure and must be protected at all costs.
If Red vs Blue is anything to go on, we can expect big things from RWBY.
I'm a bit of a protective mother with it sweatdrop "My babies made that, you b***h!"
